2 questions for the masses here.
1. Is Waddy really saying HEY MOTHER****ER as he comes off stage in the unedited version?
2. I wonder what Stevie's doing in the dressing room when her goons tell the cameras to turn away....? She dont lie she dont lie, she dont lie.....

Yes. Where was that concert? I thought it was in New York. I know the Wiltern on Wilshire Blvd.

It was an old Art Deco movie palace. It was renovated in 1981 & Stevie Nicks was the first act to play the renovated theater. Both the theater & Stevie are class acts! :blob2: :]

Thanks for that. I have never been inside. Here is an old exterior photo I found.

I thought it was taped at someplace called the Cow Palace.
And yes DavinMN, I hear somebody say "Mutha****a" real loud but never knew who it was.

The Cow Palace is/was in San Francisco. I'm not sure it exists anymore

It does. American Idol auditions were held there.

I think this is one of Stevie's absolute best performances. Every song is just amazing. I especially love Dreams and Gold and Braid, with those high kicks!

You can thank the cocaine, and the lack of booze for the high kicks!
I guess being in Los Angeles they got the best coke possible. When your out on the road, running out of good shiit, the good coke runs out.
Yeah yeah I always credit anything good or bad Stevie did before 86 to coke, blast me away:lol: !
"Get the cameras out" Shiit gee I wonder why lol!

Been lurking for a long time now, but thought I'd throw this in. The full concert from the HBO show is much better. It includes the unedited "Outside The Rain" (for the HBO show they removed a verse, which once you hear the enedited version, the edit is very noticable). There are also like five other songs from the show that were removed.

are you talking audio or video? I think most people have the full audio, but no one's ever seen the full video. if you're talking video...well, I'll just **** a gold brick.
oh, and welcome to the ledge. :D

I saw Bruce Hornsby there just a year or two ago (Sonia Dada was the opening act; Bonnie Raitt came out to sing two songs with Bruce in mid-set, then came back again during the encore).
And, back in 1974, I saw the Tommy movie there (an 8am showing sponsored by KLOS-FM) a week before it officially opened.

The monstrosity still exists, but these days is limited to things like the monster truck thingy and home/garden shows. FM played their Tango shows there. Worst acoustics in the world.
Oh, and it's in Daly City which is just outside SF. I don't think San Franciscans want any ownership.

Worst acoustics in the world.I saw the band there on the tusk tour. Acoustics are always bad in these humongous sports arenas. It was so long ago that I don't remember specifics about acoustics, but you should hear the crappy arenas down here: San Diego Sports Arena, Long Beach Sports Arena, the Forum, even the newer arenas aren't good--like the Pond. Sound waves ricochet off the walls to your left, to your right & behind you, & bounce around in a seiching manner until attenuation sets in & the sound wave finally decays into nothing--which probably takes about 30 seconds of hell. They need to outfit these sports arenas with sound-absorbent padding on the walls opposite the amplifiers. It would help somewhat.
I think the best sound I ever heard at a big rock concert was Springsteen at the Coliseum in 1984. Of course it was outdoors, but the E Street Band just filled up the open air & the huge Coliseum with perfect acoustics.

I was there, camped out overnight for tickets. One of the best shows I've ever attended.

Its so sad. The only way the lady could really move her ass was the coke? I sure hope that's not true. However, Stevie hardly moves today...that's either due to lack of coke, or age.
The HBO special was indeed the best Stevie Nicks performance I'd ever seen. Gold and Braid was and is amazing to watch.

And that little jig she does at the end of Gold and Braid is simple adoreable!!!!
She doesn't move much these days however, I was watching one of the "Gold Dust" shows the other night and I was comparing her performance and appearance to the SYW shows. It's amazing how much more she does move in the GD shows and how much more into she seems. Very spontaneous...like the Stevie of old. In my opinion, those shows are the closest Stevie has been to her old self in a long time. And she looks SO much better. Even the frankenboks don't bother me that much since she did the longer skirt and leg warmers. They're not nearly as noticeable (though still hideous!)

I figure Stevie was pacing herself in SYW given that FM was doing 1 1/2 years of touring. Plus the hip problem and other health issues. She was coughing up a storm at the Bakersfield show.
The Gold Dust Tour wasn't that many shows. Plus I think Stevie feels more free to let loose in solo shows.
As for the HBO special, she was also a lot younger then, it wasn't just the coke.

I have always loved that version of Gold and Braid adn for years wondered if it was a cover since it wasn't on any of her albums. The box set cleared that up for me, finally. And I was thrilled to have a good CD copy of it then because I had always taped it right from the video. And the mix on the CD is so much better. Compare Waddy's guitar solo from the Enchanted CD to the video, it totally drowns out all the other instruments in the video mix.
I always laugh when Stevie does that little dance where she crouches down and sticks her butt up in the air. Anyone remember that song/dance called "Da Butt"? It always reminds me of that.
I also really love the intro to Rhiannon she does. I used to have a great mix tape where I had that intro crossfaded into the Fleetwood Mac Live version. They work really well together.
