View Full Version : Fan Concert Fantasy

Regardless of going or not, yesterday as I was gingerly sliding down my big hill, I had a fantasy. Share yours, if you wish. In fact, it would be ideal.
My fantasy:
Say everyone is at the fan party (or any Stevie concert, but a fan party would be cool because of the reaction)
We're told the show starts at 8:30, and in the meantime we are all in the venue milling around, talking, having snacks (?) etc. It's around 7:45 ish so no one is really paying attention to the stage much yet.
All of a sudden -
The lights drop, and at the same moment we hear the bassline from SOTM, "doondoondoondoon".
But it's a short intro, and before we have time to react too much, Stevie's voice comes out at us (SOTM) - we all gasp and turn, and at the same moment she comes striding forcefully out on the stage while singing INTENSE! SILENCE! AS SHE WALKED IN THE ROOM! Just belting it madly at us! Eyes afire! - BAM! the spotlight flashes on her, and the crowd lets out a huge roar! We're all so suprised! And she fierces us out with SOTM!
After SOTM, she busts straight into Long Way to Go, or Angel.

Mine's pretty simple. It's just a regular ol' concert. I've got really great seats, of course, but they only cost like seventy-five bucks. And she plays a set that includes no more than four of the following: "Dreams," "Landslide," "Edge Of Seventeen," "Stand Back," "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You," "Outside The Rain," "Rhiannon," "Enchanted," "Gold Dust Woman," "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around." Any four, or fewer, it doesn't matter to me. And beyond that... surprise me, baby.

Wow Amber, this really gave me chills. And as for the snacks: can they be Rice Crispies squares?
I love Angel as leading out of SOTM too. That would definitely keep the crowd on their feet.
I like the idea of a fan concert, it would be great, everyone would be on the same page and would really appreciate the rare gems instead of taking a bathroom break during them. I just wish it could happen in a different way than what's being proposed, and I wish some people weren't crazy, stalker fans creeping me out (not you guys).

Then "Stand Back" begins, except this time instead of doing that shaking of skirt dance, she takes the mic off the stand, and bolts into the audience, just like Cyndi Lauper in "Shine". She climbs on our shoulders, allowing us to pass her around, being held up only by our love.

After SOTM and Angel (because I know you love it Amber) she goes back stage and we start to hear the orchestral intro to Rooms on Fire. Of course I am in the very front row dead center and after about a 3 minute intro Stevie emerges in a gorgeous red dress with plunging neckline, fishnets, and matching red velvet high platform boots. As the opening notes of the synthesizer are played she immediately locks eyes with me and proceeds to belt out the first 2 verses and chorus singing directly to me and right before "long nets of white" she reaches out to me and grabs me up on stage and we dance exactly like she dances on the pool with the guy in the ROF video. When the song is over I go back to my spot in the front and she proceeds to perform That's Alright, Storms, I Can't Wait, One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star, Trouble in Shangri La, Bella Donna, Love is, Stand Back, Fall from Grace (hitting the high note), Nightbird, Edge of Seventeen, Everybody Finds Out, Beauty and the Beast, and Crystal for the encore. After the show she invites me backstage where she tells me she has a feeling she knew me in a previous life and then I fly home with her to Los Angeles and spend the next week at her house with her in Pacific Palisades. :blob1: :wavey:
She also does a meet and greet/picture with every fan at the party.

Yeah, I read what you said on the other thread, and I saw your point. It would be much more fuzzy if she thought of it.
I take it you were enjoying a fat one while sliding down that hill?
Don't you get great ideas flowing through your head as you exercise? That's what it's for, it decloggs your brain drain, and then all the great ideas can flow freely through the top of your head again.
uh....
The fat one had been about three hours earlier...
So far so good, everyone...Gee, Lindsay, doesn't sound like you've thought about this before....not at all....:p

Oh, you guys.
Instead of Stevie being passed around on people's backs, maybe she can just crowd surf---logistically it would be a lot easier and more efficient ;).

I just had a great idea for her entrance - she can be lowered down from the ceiling in a giant bird cage sitting on the swing and it's filled with white wing doves .

Well, Cher did something similar to this for the last several years of her farewell tour - only she was wearing the feathers

Well if Cher's done something similar than it's not original so scratch that idea. Instead of the bird cage she should start the concert by swinging from a trapeze (in platforms of course) and after she lands she should sing Bella Donna.

Hehehe. Right on. I like this idea. Despite my being a girl and admitting to being a tad homophobic, the idea of me in dark suit slow-dancing with Stevie Nicks in that red dress kinda gives me a giddy seizure. :o
There goes another dark secret of mine :p
I don't know what my "fan concert fantasy" would be. I haven't thought about it much. Obviously it's a different story for Le Buckingham, though that one's kinda .... explicit is a good way to put it.
Let me think this one over and I'll get back to ye.

Not quite as secret though. He knows ALL about it.

Oh yeah, we get to pick a band, too!
Once again, I'm going for simple:
1 drummer
1 bassist
2 guitarists, one lead, one rhythm
1 pianist/keyboardist
2 back-up singers - to be used SPARINGLY
I don't who exactly they all are, just tone down the circus a bit. The ten-piece extravaganza is just unnecessary; all it does is make her music sound cluttered and bloated.
