I agree...and Songbird too. When you listen to some of these old shows, you can tell that she had the audience, even if she was a much more understated performer than either Stevie or Lindsey. By the way, that Nashville show is my favorite live show from the Rumours line-up ever.

I like the way she tells (I think) John and Lindsey they're too loud!
God Lindsey must miss being told off by her!

I like the way she tells (I think) John and Lindsey they're too loud! Why would she tell john & lindsey? they aren't the ones operating her monitor.

By the way, that Nashville show is my favorite live show from the Rumours line-up ever.I like all the '77 soundboards about equally--they're all fun & frothy: nashville, little rock, oklahoma city, paris. I just wish there were a little more presence, more gain, on most of those rehearsals.
plus, I wish we had soundboards from the latter three or four months of the tour, too.

I just assumed she was talking to John and Lindsey.
She could have been talking to the engineers which would make more sense.

How large was the stage? Stage volume is DEFINITELY an issue, unless they're standing 30' apart.

I am always instructed to give hand signals to the guy offstage. I use a thumbs-up for "make it louder" & use a flat hand sinking down for "make it softer" & if there's a major problem, I run off the stage & whisper, "There's a major problem" ..... in between rhiannon riffs!!

Don't feel bad, Gail. When I first heard that bootleg, I thought she was talking to the audience. I thought she meant they were too loud for "Songbird".

YES! Remember, I'm a soundman(specializing in monitors). I have a monitor mixer directly behind my keyboards.

Sounds like a personal problem. If I were in a cover(tribute-sorry!) band, playing Rhiannon, I think my first response to the soundman might be, "Hey, this singer's not bleating enough! Do you have a bleating patch in one of your FX units?!":wavey: :wavey: :wavey:
You do know that the sign for "perfect, stop there", is to close your fist, at them, right?

Sounds like a personal problem.I beg your pardon!
You do know that the sign for "perfect, stop there", is to close your fist, at them, right?I did not know that! I usually just pop the okay sign. From now on, I will close my fist & shake it at him ... did you say?
But what if he punches me back?

From now on, I will close my fist & shake it at him ... did you say? I didn't say to shake it. And oddly, the fist is always presented "sideways".
But what if he punches me back?
Pull up your panties, and kick his ass, Nancy!;)

I think we're talking about what Christine says before they start Songbird.
She says something like "too loud guys, too loud" and I assumed she was telling John and Lindsey to tone it down a bit. But probably she wasn't and well ..... actually it doesn't matter

There's quite a bit of that kind of stuff during this show, especially from the McVies. I think this may have been the show when right after "Second Hand News", Chris said "I guess I just wasn't cut out for playing the chair".

You have to be very careful when you extrapolate concert set lists from recordings. You have to have a wide knowledge of other recordings from the same period in order to derive probable set lists. For example, someone listening to the recording of the first Hollywood Bowl night might conclude that they didn't play Sisters of the Moon, when that wasn't the case. Or if you listen to my recording of Stevie's set at the Toxics benefit, you'd have no idea that Stevie & Tom also sang Leather & Lace at the end of the concert.
