Remember all movies where a mac song (or solo member ones) appeared?
I recall:
Just one of the guys (TROUBLE)
School of Rock (Edge of Seventeen)
Forrest Gump (Go your own way)

Can it be TV?
Cos I watched an old episode of Northern Exposure the other day and played the beginning of Lindsey's D.W. Suite twice.

.
Yes., in that case Thrown Down appeared in FRIENDS
"Future Games" is played during a scene in Almost Famous (if only it had made the soundtrack...).
And "Big Love" is played in Elizabethtown, right?
Also, "Blue Lamp" in Heavy Metal, of course.

Were all of these songs actually in their respective movies, though, or did they just show up the soundtrack albums? For example, I don't recall "Twisted" ever actually being played in Twister.

Really??? That part is always hard to hear (and I'll admit, I'm not "name that tune" ready for Future Games), but I always thought the voice sounded like Bob Welch on the DVD.

The 2-disc "Director's Cut" DVD of Almost Famous has a different song than "Future Games"...the regular theatrical version of the DVD may still have it.

At the moment, I can't remember in which scene "Twisted" plays, but it's definitely there. I think it's right around when Bill Paxton arrives with Jami Gertz in tow, to get Helen Hunt to sign divorce papers... but don't quote me on that.

There's a version of "Songbird" (I think it's that one anyway) played in the movie "Love Actually," though it isn't performed by Fleetwood Mac.

"Listen to the Rain" can be heard in the Danny Devito movie "Renaissance Man", but it isn't on the soundtrack. It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, so I'm not sure of the exact scene, but I believe it was in a bar.

"Roll With Me Henry" (Christine McVie and FM minus Stevie)-A Fine Mess
No, "Roll With Me, Henry" wasn't in A Fine Mess, but "Can't Help Falling In Love" WAS. (however, it was also Fleetwood Mac minus Stevie)

That's right! I think the episode is called "The One With The Soap Opera Party" and it 's on season 9. (Oh I'm such a Friends geek:o )

That's shameful that I've never noticed it, considering how much I love Twister.

I'm pretty sure all those songs were in the movies mentioned. Violet & Blue is v. briefly heard in a nightclub in Against All Odds, Somebody Stand By Me is heard when the main characters are driving along a highway in Boys On The Side I think, Marty McFly wakes up to Time Bomb Town on his alarm clock, On The Wrong Side is in another driving scene in With Honors and so on.
Sleeping Angel is definitely in Fast Times but I can't remember where exactly.
Anyone remember? I have a feeling it may be after Jennifer Jason Leigh has the abortion.

I believe it is played as she waits on the curb for Mike to pick her up.

After reading through this thread one thing is glaringly obvious: F.M. sure did contribute some good music to some really crappy movies .

Since we can have TV, The Chain was the theme music for the BBC Formula 1 highlights programme in the 80's and 90's.
Albatross is currently being used as backing music for Marks and Spencer food adverts here in the UK.
