Very true. I'd put her in the performance artist category, she had very little actual music talent. She's certainly a tragic figure, very sad.

Too many to list - but my biggest regret would've been not getting a chance to see INXS with Hutch :( Sexiest beast ever with an equally gorgeous voice. I'll be settling for 5 out of 6 members when I see them in concert at the end of the month.

Oh and ChiliD, the mere fact that you mentioned Eddie Cochrane made my day. I have a framed photo of him, close up and on the telephone with his finger to his mouth in a "shhhh" pose. Drool.

I may be going to see them in Houston or Austin in June. :) I remember them in the 80's, but was too much into NKOTB to notice them. LOL Can't wait to see them with JD...good GAWSH he's smokin' hot.

Meh. I've begrudgingly accepted JD. He probably was the best fit out of the bunch although I still wonder what Jordis is up to.

I was, and still am a fan of the band though, not just the Hutch or whoever they may have fronting them for the time being. Back in the 80's, I was more of a "Tim" girl myself anyway. Anyway, if you see them, lemme know what you think.

Yes, exactly. There has been no interviews or *ANY* footage of him at all since his breakdown. Only a few photos and one home video shot of him walking down the street

I've seen those photos/footage and it is truly chilling. He doesn't even look remotely like he did back when he was with Pink Floyd. I mean, there is no glimmer of his former self there at all. He was totally unrecognizable to me.

I guess mentioning Danny Kirwan is about the equivalent to mentioning Syd. The odds of seeing either on stage again is 100x's worse than winning the Lotto.

But, we were saying the same thing about Peter Green back in the late 80's/early 90's and look what happened. But, it appears that both Danny & Syd are far worse off than Peter was.

I personally think Syd looks remarkably fit and well. Obviously with a condition of the type he has it is unrealistic to expect a comeback. And nor should we. The man is over 60 years old and doesn't want reminding of his past.

Roger Waters had considered asking him to make an appearance for Pink Floyd's "finale" at Live 8 but I think this proved a bad idea. And it would mean going through his sister Rosemary who Roger believes still blames him for Syds condition  Funnily enough I only captured a few seconds of video footage when I was at Live 8 last July but it's the bit the cameras missed. It's the moment the huge image of Syd is projected behind the band during "Wish You Were Here".

Even now Gilmour makes sure Syd recieves royalties and its his way of doing something for his old friend. He played Astronomy Domine during the Pulse tour and Syd gets royalties from the CD, video and soon to be released DVD too.

Rick Wright and Gilmour have played both "Dominoes" and "Arnold Layne" on David's solo tour so far. Maybe we'll get another surprise in London later this month. :) The London show on the 30th is being recorded for a DVD so I'm sure Syd will get some royalties from this too.

Syd has made it clear he doesn't want contact with his former life so the other members respect his wishes but they still are very fond of him.

there was a brief "encounter" between "Syd" and a reporter who was trying to interview the reclusive "Syd" back in either 2000 or 2001.

The "interview" took place at "Syd's" home in Cambridge, But it wasnt really an interview in the sense that "Syd" hardly answered any of the questions asked of him (He would not answer any music/Pink Floyd related questions according to the article about this meeting) except for how his artwork & gardening were going. "Syd" answered the door at his home in a pair of underwear and had dirt on his hands/knees as he just finished doing some garden work. He told this interviewer that his name is "Roger", and that "Syd is fine".

The "Interviewer" said he felt bad for intruding on "Syd" and felt like he wasnt welcomed by "Syd", So he left "Syd" his info in hopes he would like to do a "real" sitdown type of interview...But he has never heard back from "Syd".

Wished I could find that article again since it appearred recently online.

Update!!!

Found the link to the article (I got it confused with another article where "Syd" supposedly said "Syd's fine...")

I went to see John at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island around 1996 or so. He sounded perfect, his voice was so pure. No matter how you feel about his "type" of music, his voice was a gift.

I would have liked to see:

LED ZEPPELIN
The Beatles
Karen Carpenter
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Judy Garland
Queen

I have been luck to see the following:

The Dead (with Jerry)
The Cars (with the late great Benjamin Orr)
Waylon Jennings
Johnny Thunders (a little dissapointing. I believe he died that same year)
Stones (with Bill Wyman)
Frank Sinatra
The Pretenders (with Farndon and Scott)
Johnny Cash

For me, it would have to be the Bee Gees:( :( :( I was so busy raising a family that I never went to one of their concerts since most of them were too far from my home and I thought I couldn't afford to go because my money could have been spent on something more important.

Probably why I now go to Stevie's/Fleetwood Mac concerts:woohoo: Some things should never be passed by in your lifetime.
