Doherty arrested again
Just hours after escaping a jail sentence
20 April 06 - Pete Doherty has been arrested again just hours after escaping a jail term.

The Babyshambles frontman was arrested by plain clothes officers in Roman Road, in East London this afternoon.

He was one of two men in their twenties arrested just after 2pm.

The singer's being held on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

Scotland Yard says two men remain in custody at an East London police station.

Doherty appeared in court earlier today and was sentenced to a community order with two years supervision and 18 months drug rehabilitation at Thames Magistrates' Court in east London.

He was also banned from driving for six months.

SO sad it almost makes me laugh.

You'd think he would've learned his lesson by now.

He should clean up his act and reform the Libertines, for pete's sake (pun intended, har-har).

This whole thing is a joke, it's getting ridiculous, he's in and out of arrest every other week, they call the British system "soft" and I can see why, no-one can make up their mind what they want to do with him!
The same goes for George Micheal..he bumped into 3 parked cars at the weekend (this a couple of weeks after he was found slumped at the wheel of his car) and did a runner, someone in the police force needs to take control and either do something about them, or leave it!

Doesn't this arrest mean he'll go to prison? About time, I think. He should get into a good detox program while he's there. (Though I wonder if there's any chance he'll ever get of the drugs)

I don't see the point of jail time for possession. He's not hurting anyone but himself. I support decriminalizing drugs and putting money and resources into treatment and prevention programs.

I also don't know who he is?

His take on T. Rex's "Children of the Revolution" with Elton John was infinitely more offensive than his idiotic behavior.

And I'm far more concerned that he's now saying that he's going to marry Kate & make babies with her by the end of the year. You just know that poor infant will be shot down the birth canal with an addiction to some sort of illicit substance.

Oh, and I'm bummed that the whole "Pete-and-the-Libertines-were-a-big-hoax" bull**** never panned out. Drats.
