So, David called me a chickensh*t (*gasp!*)
after he sent me some instrumental stuff, and then I didn't send him some vocal stuff.
I shall call this my Sloppy Masterpiece.
And then I got these new speakers today (which I'm having trouble with, stupid fuzzy subwoofer!)
Anyway, I did this, and it's me and Stevie as I think of Stevie.
The favorite times I spend with Stevie are like this - me and Stevie are yelling, she is making stuff up, I don't know the song that well, so I'm making stuff up with her...she hasn't even decided on the words yet...I don't know them...it's a spontaneous party for everyone involved!!!
It's the unpolished, improvisational performance. From both me and Stevie. (In that way that Stevie is extremely talented, and I'm just hanging out).
And that is the reason I love Stevie the most, and it's my favorite thing to do with Stevie...To Whimsically Improv, and "Voice Around", results be damned!
*sings*
"Has Anyone Ever Sang Crappily Foh You...In All Yo Hyumoless (Humorless) Houahs...Did You Evah Laugh at Ambuh...Well I Have....I Have Laughed at Myself..."
Around after two minutes....I think I never listen to that part, cause I totally didn't know it - but that never stopped my girl, and it didn't stop me! ( )
This is my most fun hobby.
Listen! - you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll have cognitive dissonance, you'll feel so much better about your dirty little Stevie secrets...insert party hat guy*dork*

Let it be known: I don't like to be accused of being a chickensh*t by some Pianee Playin' Intellectual Banana Head!  :xoxo:
Let it also be reiterated that I love me some GoldenBraid!
*I hope this puts me in the frontrunning for Creative Consultant on the Golden Braid portion of the Stevie Biopic which will be horribly miscast not because of bad actresses but because no one should try to recreate Stevie, her physicality and vocal quality are too distinctive to ever, ever, never, lever, shmever, do her any kind of justice, I'm suprised Tina was given a half measure of justice in her biopic but I think Stevie would be about 69.9 times harder (at least) to do justice to than that. I'm not saying she's the most awesome person that ever lived, I'm just saying she is *arguably, but not really*
the most
INIMITABLE
to "do" without succumbing to parody.
And Stevie deserves more than parody. Although the parodies are great, too.
She deserves both parodies and sincere recognition of talent. And THAT! is an artist, my friends! :woohoo: :woohoo:
*end of beautiful rant. Thank you for joining "us" (me and my sybil/stevie points of view) *
Don't be alarmed - it's true what they say - You could use a dreamah! On yo si-Ide!
Embrace It! Sing Questionably at the Top of Your Lungs! "Jesus" and everyone else loves Stevie Nicks!
Ask yourself: WWSD?! And then put on a fabulous outfit and ask your damnself again! Then dance and twirl erratically, and ask again! Then make up some nonsense words, and ask AGAIN!
That is when you will have reached the spiritual essence of WWSD.

Man, you and Stevie are unhinged!
What Gold and Braid is this from? Yeah, I know, your living room..but before that?
I especially like the little OOOOhs in the middle, and since I am someone who listens/looks for incidental elements in photos and recordings, I also really like the pause after the singing stops, followed by the sound of keyboard clicks.

So, David called me a chickensh*t after he sent me some instrumental stuff, and then I didn't send him some vocal stuff. You have courage, strength, fortitude, pulchritude & attitude. You have everything it takes to succeed in this crazy world of ours.
Which Golden Braid is this? It doesn't sound like any I'm familiar with. Good job, by the way!:blob2: :wavey: :blob1: :( :D  :p ;) :]

I will have a listen when I get home later tonight. :wavey:
Btw, is this something new we are doing here? Because no way I am going to share my embarrassing stash of recorded Stevie impersonations.

Why, you think I should be embarrassed of this?! :D
No, just me. Clearly I don't have a healthy enough sense of embarrassment. Other people usually share lovely and polished renditions of things, often with instruments and using actual recording equipment. Hey, I have a bad rendition of Wild Heart if anyone wants to hear!!!! Hurray!
You can share, though, Vanessa. I mean, it's not like I set the bar so high, here.
*actually, I really like this GnB I did, I think it rocks. Should I be even more embarrassed that I said that? I'm not.*
I'm glad I've amused some of you.
Isn't the clicking the best part, Eliza?
Uh, this Gold and Braid is called Master Compilation, Studio Vocal6. Something like that. I have another I just noticed, called Gold and Braid master reel 3_18_81. I shall commence posting both. The second one isn't as cool...
Imagine ol' Amber having something David and Gldstwmn don't have! Weird.
Enjoy! If you can, without me singing along...

Don't tease me, you vicious man. I mean it seriously. Post it!
Did you get those gold and braids?I got your G&B. It's fantastic! You even breathe simultaneously with Stevie. You should join a band & you will get off on belting out like that!

 No I meant the just Stevie version I posted. Of course I would get off on it, "Singer" is the best job in the world.
Thank you! I seem to have takes 1, 2 & 3 but no 6.

of course, isn't that always the way?

Au contraire! I was merely talking about my renditions.
You can share, though, Vanessa. I mean, it's not like I set the bar so high, here.
Alright, I guess I can provide the comic relief for this evening later on.

Here's another. I love this demo a lot, I think it's beautiful and very heartfelt, and lyrically it's pretty good too. Simple and literal, but good. It contains a favorite phrase of mine, "You are not old, I am not wise".
Brilliant, I says!
Although I don't know it that well yet, as you will see. But that's why it's Improvapalooza.
It's a pretty simple vocal, though. Fun to sing.
Also, I'd like to hear theories about who this is about. I'm thinking Mick, but you know.

And here is the original by itself, in case someone doesn't have it, as I was shocked to find out Paula had never heard it...(I always think everyone else has everything I have, since I don't collect and stuff)

Also, I am waiting for Vanessa's cool menthol stylings... :woohoo:
ooo, ooo! And if anyone knows what she really says during the "ozzle dozzle sho" part I would be eternally grateful.

Only if you know the answer to "ozzle dozzle sho" (They say).

I found this copy of the lyrics on the 3 Birds of Rhiannon website. :wavey:

Love You Enough (My Love is Never Lost), Polished Demo
You look at me
And I know you've not forgotten
Still make me laugh
In the laughter we were lost in
I still love you
But we cannot be in love
But when I see you
I just can't get enough
When I see you
I just can't get enough
I look at you
And I know you have not changed
Still in my dreams
And still they're all the same
And I had to let you
They say all the doors are shut
But in my heart
I will never give you up
In my heart
I will never give you up
Oh, I'll never be able to love you enough
Though my spirit lies deep inside your soul
No, my love can never be tended or be bought
And my love for you will never get old
I guess we try to close our eyes
Ooh, but we are not children...no we try
You are not old...I am not wise...
But when it was...it was fine...fine...
But when it was...it was fine
Oh, I'll never be able to love you enough
Though my spirit lies deep inside your soul
And my love can never be tended or be bought
And my love for you will never grow cold
Baby, never grow old
Oh, I'll never be able to love you enough
Though my spirit lies deep inside your soul
No, my love can never be tended or be bought
Oh, my love for you will never get old
Darlin', never grow cold
Darlin', never get old
No...no...

Sounds really great, amberica! But is there some way you can put Stevie's volume down while you make your recording so that your singing comes out more prominent in the mix? several of you guys have recorded cool stuff but with Stevie singing really loudly so I have trouble distinguishing the ledgie from the Stevie.
