disabling right-click...

this makes me laugh. ha ha ha! :laugh:

at first, it infuriates me that people disable right-click on their sites, but then I roll with laughter. if you don't want people to save the picture, don't put it on the internet, simple as that. I mean, really.

and sorry if this offends any of you who do this, but seriously, most of us want the pics to use as signatures, for our desktops, wallpapers or personal collection...I get the concept, but let it go. :cool:

Shyeah, that pisses me off, too. But y'know, more often than not (I've come across a few pics that are proected against this! which is ridiculous) you CAN save them without rightclicking... Usually, if you hover over the picture, in the left-hand corner a little thing of options will come up. You just hit the little save icon. :laugh:

indulge me while i offer the following scenarios. keep in mind ive #1 webpunk's hat on...e.g. not my thinking!

#1 "whoa my site is tits! ive all kinds rare chit! you wont find this anywheres on the net...swear to begeez the only place youll be able to gaze at this is my site...rare man...my site...the one i spent hours formulating...youve to spend time here if you want to drool over this!"

#2 "i obtained copyright permission for these items; therefore i am obligated by law to disallow access"

#3 direct linking; whereby the original site holder carries the "weight" of the item and someone else links to the item enjoying the benefits of the picture on their site without having to host the size on thier server. if that makes any sense :laugh:

anyways...brainiacs like me know how to disable disable right-click :cool:

THere are ways to save the pics..

try clicking both the left and right mouse at the same time really fast and usually the pop up will come up and you can save.

Pretty easy to get around that problem if you use firefox :thumbsup:, just use one of the integrated downloadmanagers.

yeah...you can save them. that's what I'm saying...why it's so funny. especially if you have a Mac, you can save just about anything. it's just annoying.

I agree completely with this rant. On another band's board, there was this girl(who was my friend), who was completely obsessed with this band. She had her own fan site, too. Well, she posted a bunch of pics on the band's official site. One pic was a really funny one, and she had the right click disabled, too. So ALL I posted was, "damned unsavable pics", WITH a :) , and she came UNGLUED!, PMing me that "how dare I post that?, and it's as if you're DARING everyone out there to TRY and steal my pics!"."Remove your post now!". "I am DONE with you!".
I explained (tried) that it was a funny pic, and that's what fans DO, is share. She wasn't hearing any of it, and remained unglued!:lol: More than a tad psycho, IMO.
Folks, if you don't want to share your pics, then don't even bother posting them. Perhaps they should be kept in some dark place, where the sun don't shine!:lol:

I HATE the disabling right click thingy!!!! but there IS a way around it...lol...Let me tell ya....lol...Ok ok ur keyboard there should be a button and it says "Prnt Scrn" press that, it copies the screen, then open Paint and click paste(Ctrl+V) or just do the file thingy and then when the thing is pasted u can edit out everything BUT the picture.....(My freind told me all of this....lol)

P.S. Sorry about my poor vocabulary....lol...I have no school so why use good vocab....lol:laugh:

If you left click on the picture and drag it down to the very bottom of the browser window, [and your pointer becomes the little circle with the line through it -- my vocabulary sucks too] and drop it down into the very bottom status bar, [where your pointer becomes the shortcut icon] and release the button, it opens up in its own window. Voila.

I've done it. :nod: The majority of the Stevie Myspaces that are out there (most of them belong to some of the fans here even) use animations that were from various sources. The majority of them are uncredited for various reasons: 1) a lot of my friends find them and send them to me 2) search engines 3) personal reasons, etc.

I'm just curious as to what the general consensus is on this...and please let's be rational and civil. maybe its the USING other peoples animations :shrug:

personally, i make animations for the fun of it
mine are posted within my signature
i make them as i love them and the subject
i take my time and try to make them special
i like it when people ask me if they can use one
i know that i would...but to each his/her own :shrug:
however they are there for the taking obviously
and yes they perhaps will be forwarded on
if that is something i cared about i would not display them
we discussed this before and i believe there was a misunderstanding

Slide the Video Acceleration bar (it's at the bottom of the tab) to "None" and then hit "apply" and "OK" and then restart your video and see if print-screening will work then.

You can't make full-screen caps, but it does work.

<center> I understand your point. I make music videos with Quicktime and they get passed around the internet and claimed as other peoples, but I take it as a compliment usually. I think your idea of embedding your signature on the animation is terrific! :blob1:

I apologize for the bad communication in the past as well. I'd love to learn how to make the animations. I am good at the movies and video production, as well as powerpoints (I've won awards even at media fests!) but I am clueless when it comes to Flash, etc. :laugh: <center>
