Not taking your job or money or anything else in to account, where would you like to move to?
I am so sick of where I live it is not even funny. I am ready to get out of Florida. I kind of want to move to New Englad... I want to move somewhere beautiful. Liike a small little village tucked away in the mountains.
I am just so sick of the sun and the sand! I hate it!

Ireland because I like the crags & the nooky glens & the storm-tossed seas.
If I stayed in California, I'd want to move to the Humboldt region. The tsunami & hazards expert Professor Lori Dengler lives up there, too.
Great question, chris!!

I would move to a cute little cottage in England or Bavaria in Germany:blob1: My hubby would love to live on Seventeen Mile Drive in Carmel, CA so he can go golfing everyday near that glorious view they have there:nod:
Right now, we live in a small rural community and any other place sounds alot more exciting:laugh:

I'd live in southern CA, where it's warm and sunny most of the time. If money were no object, then I'd live in a house on the beach and be a beach bum. Hmm, come to think of it, Hawaii might be nice, too. I think as long as it's warm and sunny I would be happy.
Realistically speaking, I do hope to move back to Phoenix in about two years and live out the rest of my days there.

I'd stay on the east coast, but I would go a little further south. Somewhere by the ocean, maybe in the Carolina's or Virginia. Wherever I go I would still want there to be a change of seasons.

Within the U.S., I'd say Charleston, SC. I just think the city is beautiful. If money were not an issue, I'd buy one of those gorgeous homes on the Battery.
I love London too and think it would be great to live there, even for a year or two.

My sister lives there and just loves it. It's 115 degrees in the shade in the summertime but she just eats it up. At least it's a dry heat, (unlike Austin) but damn that's hot!!

It has always been a dream to live in Manhattan but I really don't see that happening. I'll settle for the visits. There is something to be said about the comfort of home so I guess I would move back to the town where I grew up -Imperial Beach, California.

In the US I've always had a hankering for the Pacific Northwest.
Then again, I lived in London for six months when I was in college, and it was probably one of the best times of my life, so it would be very tempting to go back there.

A poll doesn't have to be multiple choice.
Like MFM, I would want houses in various parts of the world. I'd also have a flat in London, a house that I designed, here in Texas and a summer home in Colorado.

You should have moved here a month ago. We've had nothing but. Today, finally, it is partially sunny. And then next monday sunny again. Otherwise...Rain, rain, rain. Say, do you think you would like it as much if you had to ride your bike everywhere? :woohoo:

Well, no, probably not. :wavey:
But I don't mind walking in the rain and I love looking at the rain from inside. Mind you, I didn't have a car when I lived in London (or even a bike) and I still loved London and its rain!

It would have to be somewhere that has had a song written about it...
"Down in Bermuda...the pale blue sea...Bermuda Triangle, yeah, it's easy to believe..."
"On my way to sunny California, on my way to spend another sunny day..."
"Down to St Louis, Joplin Missouri, Oklahoma City looks oh so pretty, you ought to see Amarillo, and Gallup, New Mexico, Flagstaff Arizona (don't forget Winona), Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino..."
"Rocky Mountain High, Colorado..."
It's the Anaheim & Cucamonga Sewing Circle, Book Review & Timing Association..."

I hate the sun, I enjoy the palm trees, and I like a good hurricane now and then, but I am just ready for a change of scenery.
I want to see the fall folliage for a change! I want a white Christmas! I'm just over Florida.
"I don't care for sunny weather, I like the change of seasons better. I like the feel of rain upon my face. I don't care if the snow comes down. Kick the falling leaves around, got to move to some other kind of town". Some how these lyrics seem appropriate!

Cloudy days are the best. We have so much sun here in Texas and it gets old. When it gets all dark and moody, that's what I love. Right after a light rain, that's just...the best.

Ughh, believe me, after a couple years living here, anyone could learn to hate it. Sure it's pretty in the spring and especially the fall, but the winters are pure HELL, and the summers are so muggy and disgusting that you almost wish it was -10 degrees.
I know what you mean about the beach tho. I live about the same distance from the beach, and I never go. Ever. I still think it's pretty to look at though.

It would definitely be San Fransisco, CA. I went for a week, two summers ago, and I didn't want to leave. Between the amazing food, the rich musical history, beautiful architecture, friendly people, the bay, etc. I don't see any place that compares. It is also extremely close to Napa and Sonoma, and I am such a wine freak. It is the perfect place for me.
A close second would be Hawaii. I went there for my honeymoon, and it is amazing too. I love the whole "mountains on one side and ocean on the other side" thing.

Hmm, I thought I posted this last night, and i don't see it...
I would keep a place in San Francisco, and then go live in Galicia, and I might have to have a house (or at least a hut) in Hanalei.
Hey, that's not too much to ask, is it?

I can't believe how many people here are willing to tolerate icky weather in their "places they most want to live".
Interesting.
England? Ireland? San Francisco? Northwest Coast? Sheesh. Buncha soggy mofos!!!!
And cold! Some of you don't mind the cold! It boggles my little sun/swimming/hardly-any-clothes loving mind!
It's good, though, that way my places won't get hella crowded.
I'd like to add Greece and Spain. Any Mediteranean (sp) access place....
And I'd like to give a shoutout to Catinthedark....:p
