I just thought I'd start this fun topic to find out what great memories you all have. For me, there are 2 shows that stand out:

12-31-99, Las Vegas, House Of Blues. Once in a lifetime experience. Ended up right in front of Stevie the whole night and got my first Edge handshake ever.

7-20-05, Red Rocks. Though some have said her voice wasnt at it's peak during this show, and I tend to agree somewhat, I'd waited 19 years since the video came out to see her there. Thought she'd never play there again. SO when I found out she was, missing it wasnt an option for me.

As far as Fleetwood mac goes I have a couple there too that stand out:

10-3-1997, Cincinnati. My first Fleetwood Mac concert ever.

7-19-03, San Diego, First time ever in the front row.

that's right. at my show she only shook 2 hands. a girl in a wheelchair and me. girl knew I'd have a coronary if she didn't touch me. then when I got her cup from a stagehand, honey I drank that tea so fast...I was scared someone would knock me in the head to get it (I was all paranoid). it was the best mix of raspberry tea ever...and now Stevie and I are one...technically, I could clone her.:) the straw still has her lipstick on it...after 3 years.

and to make it an even more special night, there's a DVD and it clearly shows her go to walk offstage, she goes "oh" and turns and comes back for me and shakes my hand before leaving. you never really see me, but to have that on DVD is priceless to me.

never heard of video in circulation :sorry:I figured that. It was such a small venue and we were all packed in like sardines. My friend Alicia(Haunted Song) did send me the Dvd's of the 5-11 Vegas show and the 7-17 Dallas show where I got to do the handshake. WHat I love about both is you can clearly see me taking her hand. GOOSEBUMPS!

Wild Heart - Worcester Centrum (early June maybe).
Joe Walsh opening up with Marilyn Martin in his band (she hadn't moved over to do double duty with Stevie yet).
Everyone in the audience smoking ciggies..etc. Someone lit firecrackers in the auditorium during the show. Stevie made the *tsk tsk* motion with one finger on her right hand rubbing the top of a finger on her left hand when she heard/saw the pop pops.
Stevie's voice was v. fragile, particularly during the beginning, but she played the sacrificial lamb and went on with the show. Seemed like she was heavily cough-syruped (def. NOT on a stimulant that night), but everyone in the crowd was sooooooo baked that no one seemed to care.
Lot's of teen girls in the crowd wearing little leather bands (like a shoelace) with feathers on the end, attached to their parted-in-the-middle hair by a roach clip.
Stevie also had that little square tent on the side of the stage that she ran to between songs, like a mini dressing room.

I've only been to three - so it's slim pickings...

But it would HAVE to be the Auckland show where I met Stevie after the show - It was so amazing.

I actually just remembered this morning that Stevie cracked a joke when I met her, to the best of my knowlege it went like this...

Stevie had just walked out from her dressing room, and we were waiting outside - I was holding a bouqet of flowers, so when Stevie came over we said Hi and she went to shake my hand, but because the flowers were so big, I couldn't - and Stevie said "Oh, hello Mr. No-Hands!!!" and she started to laugh quite heavily at her own joke.

It sort of reminds me of the whole singing fish 'joke' in the Destiny Rules doco :D

Unforgettable for me was Rock A Little at Jones Beach, because it was my first show and she was INSANE. Then, this past Gold Dust Tour- when I FINALLY touched her hand after all these years!!!

I'd have to say in 1998 on her Enchanted tour...at Irvine Meadows. Didn't think her performance was anything special, but we had a Ledgie get-together before the show and I ended up carting a plethora of Ledgies (actually, I think most are now ex-Ledgies...if anyone who was there, is STILL here, please speak up and be recognized; I don't remember everyone's name these days) in my van to & from the show from our "meeting spot" to save on parking fees & gasoline.

I was there but this neanderthal didn't know about the Ledge at the time...

My most memorable - I guess I'd have to say the March 1977 Rumours show at the San Diego Sports Arena mainly because it was the tour Stevie developed the persona that would enchant for at least the next 3 decades. I also saw her on the white album tour but, to me, she hadn't become a star yet.

The most memorable show I didn't see - her cancelled San Diego appearance during her first solo tour. I'm still a little bitter 25 years later :( but I swear I'll get over it

I was there at that one, too! March 10th. Stephen Bishop was opening act. ("Save It For A Rainy Day" was his "hit" at the time)

The one where Lindsey botched the introduction of "Rhiannon" (saying "this one is from our new album called Rumours"), thinking they were about to play "Dreams". Sure, Lindsey..."they" changed the set list on you. Riiiiiiight. :D

Have you heard the bootleg of the first half of that show?

My buddy & I drove down in my parents' 1973 Toyota Corona station wagon. It was his 22nd BD...and 12 days before my 21st. MANY moons later (like 22.5 years), he was the best-man at my wedding.

I don't think I have. I don't have it on the list of bootlegs that I have. Stephen Bishop is from San Diego - not sure if I even saw the opening act. 1977 is not the best year for my memory. As a matter of fact, neither was 78, 79, 80 or 81. Hell back then you got high just entering the Sports Arena. :D

All this show talk got me thinking, I am truly blessed to have been able to participate in the last 3 years of Stevie/Fleetwood Mac tours. A friend asked me why I went to so many and I said this: " I waited almost 20 years before getting to see them on the Dance tour." I thought that might be it, but of course it wasnt. So when SYW came around, I was DETERMINED to be a part of the tour to every extent I could. It was just a great feeling, and even if I never get to see them again, I went for it, and I have no regrets. And As far as Stevie solo goes, I missed the TISL tour because of her various ailments. No biggie, but when the Gold Dust tour came around, I figured that this would probably be her last MAJOR tour, so I wanted to get in as many in there as I could also.

But that show was one of my favorite shows that year in terms of performance. I LOVE Jones Beach Rock a Little performances! Hot damn.

My most memorable Stevie shows I guess would be the opening night of the Fox Wilshire run in 1981, the Forum & the Cal Expo gigs in 1986 in mid-July (both with Mick Fleetwood on congas--he actually fell but not Stevie), & the two Southern Cal gigs in late 1983: the Forum (which was amazing to me) & Irvine Meadows.

David, we were so excited. We decorated my camaro with streamers and wrote on the back, "Stevie or BUST!" MY girlfriends and I all dressed up in our 80's Stevie best and hit the road (I grew up on Eastern LI, about an hour's drive to Jones Beach).

We didn't have great seats and I had no idea what an "Edge Walk" was. When we saw her TOUCHING people as she walked across the stage, we almmost sh*t ourselves. I remember thinking that *I* wanted to be down in the front one day too. (Which I was, 25 years later :woohoo: )

She was totally crazy and passionate and wild. And for years, this performance is what I compared all other shows to, which was unfair of me. I feel really fortunate that I was able to be a part of that.

I think its amazing reading about people's concert experiences from tours like RAL, Rumours and the White Album tour, the very thought of being at any of the old tours is completely frustrating yet exciting for me, - why the hell was I born in a) 1982, and b) in England!! Im in love with the bootlegs and can imagine how amazing it must have been being there. Of course, Im utterly grateful that I saw the mac twice on the SYW tour but feel like im missed out on so much!

The most memorable Stevie concert for me I am going to have to say was the AHI benefit in Phoenix on 12/06/2001. I bought a donor ticket and had front row and it was pretty much in the center, too. This was my first front row ever and I finally got to have a handshake when she did the Edge walk. However she stopped and bent down right in front of me to shake the people hands' that were in back of me and I got a full view of her cleavage/breasts. :o :o :o
I mean a full view! I was inches away from them! Too bad only the first half on the show is on DVD cause I would love to see the expression on my face.

1982 - Mirage tour Worcester Centrum, Worcester MA

My very first FM concert. It was a smokin' show still seared in my mind. They rocked the place -- and they didn't need a ten piece back-up band to do it.

1985 - Rock A Little tour, Worcester, Centrum, Worcester MA

My first Stevie concert, and the worst I've ever seen her. Her band was great, but it was painfully clear that she had hit rock bottom. Vocally she was all over the place with her phrasing and lyrics...and not in a good way. She didn't really sing the songs as much as babbled them. I went home very disappointed. Yet, a less discernning friend thought it was a great concert. (Go figure!) I just expected more from her and knew she was losing it.

1998 - Enchanted tour, Rose Garden, Portland, OR

My first (and only) first row show! Needless to say, I got the opportunity to shake her hand. You think that would be effortless, being in the first row. However, right before Edge started, people started flooding the front of the stage. I really had to get aggressive to get my place at the stage. I'm thinking, "Hey you people, I'm sitting in the front row damn it! Sorry, but you're not getting in front of me!!"

The worst RAL show I saw was the one at the San Diego Sports Arena. That was only a problem with the levels--they had the band mixed way too high & Stevie & the other singers were inaudible to me for big chunks of the show. It was very weird. Mick showed up at that one, too.

To me, the mix of a live band in any of those big echoey sports arenas has to be as dry as possible. If it starts getting too wet, my ears ring & ring & can't distinguish the initial sound from the reverb & it all becomes a mishmash in my head--like hearing four concerts simultaneously.

The Wild Heart Tour - Oakland, CA - 10/4/1983

My first concert, let alone first Stevie show. I was so young. 5th Row, Center stage. Joe Walsh opened, Stevie rocked. This sealed my Nicks fandom. I decided that night that Stevie Nicks is the most amazing performer. Ever. I was glued and she had 15,000 people in the palm of her hand.

I will never forget.

It's not so much agreeing on a preference, but a "rule of thumb" for sound engineers (one of the rare things I remember from my four semesters during my "Record & Sound Production" major at GW College back in the late 70's), the more reflective sound in a particular room (or arena, etc), the less "effects" are necessary.

Most memorable Stevie shows? The first of course would be the night I met Stevie, July 17, 2003 in Anaheim, CA at The Arrowhead Pond. I had been to about 5 SYW shows prior to this and had a couple of chances to meet her backstage but things didn't work out since apparently I had the "wrong" type of pass. But this night I knew I had the right one! (MG which is meet and greet). I bought my tickets 2 days before the show and ended up with 5th row center. I got there early and flirted with security because of course I wanted to be standing directly in front of the stage and they usually only let the first row. Well it worked! To be honest I don't remember a whole lot of the show because I knew it was only a matter of time before I'd be meeting her. The only thing I remember clearly about this show is having to go the bathroom so bad but not wanting to lose my place in front of the stage but I didn't have a choice. I went during Landslide b/c at that point I couldn't hold it any longer. On my way up I made sure to wink at the security guard so he'd let me have my place back up front. I kept saying to myself, who pees during Landslide? lol

The second most memorable show would be May 14, 2005 at Cesar's Palace. This was my first Stevie solo show and I flew to Vegas specifically for the show. I bought my tickets through a broker ($425 a piece) and was slightly disappointed with them. They were 8th row on the side, not nearly as close as most of my SYW shows but I was with someone else who was perfectly happy so I didn't want to make a big deal. Now here's the thing - at this point I had no idea what The Edge walk was and no clue they let people rush the stage so I assumed I'd be in my seats the whole show and tried to enjoy it. I also wasn't on any boards at this time so I didn't know the set list. I was on my feet from the moment she came out and was also wearing high heels and at some point had taken them off because my feet were killing me. After Fall from Grace I hear someone behind me say, "It's time, run to the stage" and I didn't think twice. Without my shoes I pushed everyone out of my way and dashed to the front of the stage. I ended up standing directly in front of her (and this is quite an accomplishment considering I came all the way from the 8th row back on the side). The next thing I know How Still My Love starts and I'm in total shock! Not only is this one of my favorite live songs and I had no idea she'd be doing it (since she hadn't' done it in years) but I was standing directly in front of her! The rest of the night was a bit of a pain in the ass with all the pushing but I held my own and even got a 2 handed shake! I'll never forget those eyes :)
Beauty and the Beast was the next surprise because it's one of my top 3 Stevie songs and again I had no idea she'd bring it back. It's a night I'll never forget. It's also because of that show I discovered The Ledge. I was in search of a DVD of the show and did a search on Google and found this place!

Do you remember a short, dumpy, tremendously overweight guy with bad breath?

That was YOUR breath?? PUTRID ;). How could anyone forget that? I could barely focus on the show. I think it even affected Stevie's performance that night .

I do remember talking to a guy but he was there with his Mom so I don't think it was you.

Wonder who that was you saw ...?

I was just casually checking Ticketmaster, & I reloaded 2 or 3 times, & front-row seats appeared, like about 10 in the morning that day!!

The Wild Heart Tour - Oakland, CA - 10/4/1983

My first concert, let alone first Stevie show. I was so young. 5th Row, Center stage. Joe Walsh opened, Stevie rocked. This sealed my Nicks fandom. I decided that night that the Stevie Nicks is the most amazing performer. Ever. I was glued and she had 15,000 people in the palm of her hand.

I will never forget.

Richard, how old are you to have gone to a WH show in '83? You posted a picture of yourself recently and you looked very young!

Those were both great stories! Thanks for sharing them.:)

Two shows stand out to me:

July 10, 2005: Gold Dust Tour show at Nissan Pavilion, Bristow, VA.
This was my 32nd birthday and I was so juiced that she was performing at the closest venue to me on my birthday. I had a seat close enough to rush the stage and I got to touch her hand twice. Even more important to me, she was on that night, and she did her dedication to the soldiers at Walter Reed for the first time that very night. And, she put Live in Boston to shame with her twirling during "Stand Back," doing the same frenetic pace of the LIB show both during the bridge between the second chorus and the second pre-chorus AND after the leg kick. It was also one of the few times she did both an extra vocal "stand back" AND a leg kick.

October 3, 2003: Say You Will tour show at Verizon Center (then the MCI Center), Washington D.C.
After seeing Fleetwood Mac for the first time at the same venue on the second night of the tour, I noticed that Stevie was *a lot* more into it on this leg of The Tour That Never Ends. I think she even did the high kick thing at the end of "Eyes Of The World" ala the Mirage video. The thing I remember the most about the show was the fact that while I was one of the few people standing during "Beautiful Child" she actually pointed at *ME* during the song! She also was on fiyah during the "Stand Back" twirls.

Honourable mention (sorry, had to do it)

September 19, 2001: Trouble in Shangri-la tour show at Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, MD.
After a July 28 show at Nissan Pavilion where Stevie mostly went through the motions and was clearly still sick, she put on a much more forceful show this time around in the figurative shadow of the Pentagon. Granted, some songs went the way of the dodo bird this time around (notably, "Bombay Sapphires" was gone by then), but Stevie was on her game on this night.

Cliffdweller, I was barely beginning pubescence. Besides, I was accompanied by my Dad and step-mom (she and I danced around to Gypsy all the time). Just a wide-eyed boy seeing a magic night unfold before my very eyes. Seeing everyone rush the stage for Edge of Seventeen surprised me. Everyone started to stand on their chairs, so did I. But the chairs were cheap folding metal and I stood too far back and it folded on me! Thank god for the people behind me catching my backwards fall. Helping this poor boy get his balance back. I still have and wear my concert tee from the show.

As for my age, I'm ageless and have amazing genes. I really am not aging. I should be studied. I win quite a few bar bets though. That pic was a few years ago, but it's the only pic where I'm wearing puka shells. I haven't changed much at all.

Here's a recent pic of me. I was at the beach and was attacked by a wave. I had to take my pants off and run around.

For me every show I went to was memorable.

Atlanta 5-15-04-Getting to stand right under Stevie the whole night and seeing the last Silver Springs was out of this world. Not to mention the 2 am Stevie sighting at the Four Seasons and the pre-show limo tailgaiting all the way to the venue.

Jacksonville 5-23-04 Again standing right under Stevie the whole night and her taking my Happy Birthday, Stevie/Bring Back Silver Springs poster.

Las Vegas 5-10,5-11-05 The whole experience was as alot of you know magical. The 2 highlights, a Stevie handshake and the Wednesday BATB. I was still crying after the show over that one.

Las Vegas 8-7-05 Another Stevie handshake and Landslide was a big highlight for me since I had just found out a few weeks earlier that I was pregnant.

7.18.86 - Inglewood Forum:
After "Dreams," Stevie sang a cappella "I'm back out on the road again" (only it didn't sound like the Willie Nelson song), & then she said, "Let's RAWK!" & the band kicked in with "Talk to Me."

6.29.86 - Pacific Amphitheatre:
Not a lot of people mention this show, which was Stevie's first appearance in California in 1986. I loved this show even though it wasn't the most exciting show ever. But the opening "Outside the Rain" was exciting, & Stevie walked out in her feather headdress. I originally thought that she wore that headdress only that night on the whole tour, but people have since told me that she wore it quite a few times & shown me photos. But she really wore it throughout most of the night at Pacific, from "Outside" to practically all the way through the end. Backstage, she didn't stick around because they said she was not feeling well, so she got driven back to her hotel. I actually made a recording of this show. I should transfer it to MP3 & get it up here. Again, it ain't that great, but what the hell--nobody ever talks about this show. During "Rhiannon," her microphone boom was misbehaving, so she took the mic off the boom & carried it around while the tech kid came out from the side of the stage, right during the song, & had to fix the boom (why didn't he just carry out a new boom?). so during that part, Stevie hunkered down on her haunches & pointed at this kid, who was probably a bit embarrassed at being out onstage during "Rhiannon," & she pointed at him & started singing "I'll put a spell on you" during the "Rhiannon" vamp.

My friends & I paid a good chunk of change to sit in the front at all these shows. it was an expensive summer, following Stevie Nicks around California. If I don't get around to posting the whole show, I'll at least do "rhiannon." All in all, though, it was a cool show & it was very exciting for us Macheads because as I say it was the first we saw of Stevie in 1986--we hadn't seen her since the previous September ('85) at the Jackson Browne benefit, where she wore a trench coat & sang with Petty.

I was at the Forum show in '83 (and haven't been to many others, unfortunately) and I am 40, but still holding it together, for now.

I used that Ticketmaster trick back then (it was so long ago, you ahd to hit "x1" at the C prompt over and over) and got floor seats, but then the show was about to start when we grabbed the tickets from the Ticketmaaster computer at the Music Plus, and we got there late-lame and someone was in my seat. I just stood to the side and watched in awe. She was amazing, but I still regreat missing the beginning of the show.

You missed Stevie twirling out to the microphone on "Gold Dust Woman" & the first thing out of her mouth was one of her trademark Dorian mode yelps, right before she started the first verse. From that point, one knew that one was in the presence of greatness.

If you missed "Outside the Rain," you can hear that from my recording which I uploaded a few days ago. When did you finally arrive?

"If Anyone Falls" while I circled the lobby, I believe, but by the time I found a good spot, and stopped angling for my seat, she was singing "Stand Back". I basically missed experiencing half (or more) of the show. And I was pissed for the hassle it took to get there. It is embarrassing to recall my lameness, but still an amazing show, what I saw. I was starstruck. I have only seen her twice. Isn't that sad?
That is why I was so thrilled to get your recordings!

I think it was Ticketmaster, but you may be right. I actually sold the tickets, I worked at the Music Plus, and I think it was a new thing to have the ticket computer in there. It was a great way to sang last-minute tickets, though.

I was at the first one where she performed AT LAST & WHEN SUNNY GETS BLUE. Stevie was RIVITING! I met Mick Fleetwood in the Mens Room after Stevie performed. He was great! I asked him to tell stevie she was RIVITING! LOL! He said "Why I certainly will, Chap!" Joe Walsh was also there. It was a magical evening! All the women were amazing! I saw Joni Mitchell perform with Bjork. It was wild! Gwen Stefani opened the show. Trisha Yearwood blew me away..as did Shawn Colvin. Rest was Sandra Bernhardt, Natalie Cole, Paula Cole, Sheryl Crow. There were several stars in the audience..Penny Marshall was sitting behind me. It was overall a very classy, high ticket price event. Kinda snobby audience..but many Stevie fans stood up after At Last. The audience was not standing for anyone else but Stevie.
So..that was a great night for me! Don Henly hosted for Walden Woods Benefit. He did not perform. All the women had big band gowns on fron the 30's & 40's. Stevie was in a beautiful red chiffon dress. She was BEAUTIFUL!!!
