Bryan Adams put on a wonderful show here last night..over 2 hours and with about 5 songs for his encore..At one point he picked someone random out of the crowd and brought them onstage to sing with him..Let me tell you that 16 year old girl was beyond thrilled..and everyone agrees she did a great job keeping up with Bryan..Can you imagine ?? something I am sure she will never ever forget and I imagine she will be the hit at her school for months to come..
I had sorta lost interest in Bryan over the years ,but I have to admit I found myself dancing (with my steel toed boots on)ha ha right along to his songs..He is such a nice man..and when you talk to him ,he looks directly into your eyes...His crew was great to work with also..Kudo's for that..sometimes the road guys can get pretty snarly..But his crew leader made a point to Thank all of us this morning before everyone packed it all in...http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/moonchilde2/IMG_0051.jpg

I like Bryan. Like you, I too had sorta lost interest in him. He was huge during my teens and we listened to him all the time. Is he on tour? Where was that last nite, I'm not familiar with the forest of black roses, where is that? Great pics, by the way

Yeah, but isn't it some kind of law that if you're from Canada you have to like artists from Canada? You probably had Glass Tiger and Michael J. Fox posters all over your room too.

LOL..here is Moncton New Brunswick. Bryan was at the Juno's the night before in Halifax.but yes he is on tour as tonight he plays Fredericton too.
Its strange but when I first moved to Canada Bryan was at the height of his career and his songs were played constantly..and seeing as I was in Bc (his home turf) it seemed like there was that extra Canadian pride..

"Don't forget me when I'm gone, my heart would break, I have loved you for so long..." HEY! I just remembered that Bryan Adams sang parts of the tune!

I used to like him too, btw. Must be cuz of my close proximity to Canada.

He looks Damn fine in person too.. not bad for 51 yrs...
funny tidbit..Last night he asked couple of guys on our crew to find some really hot chicks and give them front row seats..apparently Bryan has a male groupie who has been yelling and screaming at his last few shows "I LOVE YOU BRYAN"..and some other not so nice things..and it is creeping him out..

Arrest me now. I'm Canadian and I think that a lot of our bands/artists suck or I just hate them because they get overplayed because of CanCon.

I watched the Junos on Sunday for some strange reason and just complained about everything and **** on every performance. I dunno the show just gets hyped every year and it's never that good. It did turn me on to Broken Social Scene though.

I do like some Canadian bands, but it is because they're good. If you're from Canada and you're good I'll be proud, but I won't be a mindless drone and buy Nickelback's newest batch of songs that all sound the same just because their from some small town in my province that I've never been to.

I guess I respect Bryan Adams for being successful but he is majorly overplayed here because of CanCon.

I could keep going, but I've put this thread off topic enough.

Oooooooh! Lala! BAD Canadian, BAD! I think I hear the Mounties coming to get you! RUN FOR THE BORDER!!!

I like some Nickelback, but yeah, all their stuff DOES sound the same. Do you like the Hip? They're pretty big in Buffalo. I have some friends that like the Headstones & the Trues (Trews?) too.

I read your posts and I still don't know Glass Tiger's biggest hit. Is it this? "Don't forget me when I'm gone, my heart would break, I have loved you for so long..."

Yeah, I don't know that song.

Yes you do. Hang on, I'll sing it to you. The first verse is sung by Glass Tiger guy:

"You...take my breath away...whoa-oh-oh-oh
Love...thinks it's here to stay...whoa-oh-oh-oh
something something...whoa-oh-oh-oh
blah...blahblahblahblahblah...whoa-oh-oh-oh
And then I wake up and you're not there
I can't find you anywhere
Oooooooooooooh, but you don't caaaaaaaaarrrrre

Chorus:
Don't forget me when I'm gone (Glass Tiger guy)
{my heart would break} (Bryan Adams)
I have loved you for so long (Glass Tiger guy)
{It's all I can take} (Bryan Adams)"

I know I'm not a great singer, but you must remember it now!

I never watch the Juno's. They're trying so hard to make the show good and known world wide. I really don't like half of the Canadian bands either. Hate Nickelback, Celine and Avril, just to name a few. I do love Shania, Neil, Sarah McLachlan, Jan Arden, Amanda Marshall, Tragically Hip, Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo, Bruce Cockburn, Jeff Healey, Joanie Mitchell, Cowboy Junkies, and The Guess Who though. ****, there's alot more then I thought.

I LOVE Sarah, she's amazing. It's odd because it took me a long time to get into her. I didn't get her when I saw Lilith Faire but now I do.

Hey, BTW, my grandfather is from Nova Scotia so I'm sort of Canadian too! Well, its in my blood anyway. :wavey:

I don't mind the Hip at times. I really like Kings and Pretty things and Poets, but again, they get really overplayed because of CanCon. For anyone who doesn't know, CanCon (Canadian Content) policies were brought in during the late 60s/early 70s when Canadian bands like The Guess Who couldn't get airplay on radio stations because stations played American music. So, it was a good idea at the time because it got decent bands respect (I'm not a huge Guess Who fan but whatever they were huge) but it's a little redundant now. Stations end up playing a lot of **** like Glass Tiger, Corey Heart, and Luba to meet the regulation - I think it's around 30%.

I'm becoming aware of all of this as I get into the radio industry.

I don't really like The Trews and I've never really listened to the Headstones.

And as for Nickelback...every time I hear Photograph I want to vomit or light something on fire. It's like "Hey...we figured out how to write a comercial song...just make everything rhyme!"
