They have permanently disabled my account and removed all my videos for copyright infringement.

They had sent me several e-mails a few weeks back threatening to do just that (I think I posted a thread here about it), and I got another nasty-gram last night saying that's what they have finally done.

Sorry. I am disappointed too. Enjoy what's left that's been posted by others, they are likely to be removed as well.

That surprises me because I thought that a lot of what you had up wasn't even copyrighted material. I mean stuff like old TV appearances, etc.--they're fair game, aren't they? Since anyone can tape them off broadcast television? There are scads of websites where you can download episodes of TV shows like Lost, etc. I wasn't aware uploading, say, an old Letterman Appearance from a decade ago was illegal.

The uploads to You Tube were being used for commercial reasons...not by priestofnothing...but by You Tube itself. You Tube, like similar internet sites gets paid by advertisers for every hit/view. If fans are tuning in for the Stevie videos, You Tube makes money. I'm sure they don't like taking down the videos, but copyright lawsuits and treble damages are less appealing. If someone where to upload a Stevie Tonight Show appearance to their very own website for viewing by friends I think that would be OK, imo.
