Hayes has lost faith in 'Park'
After 10 years on Comedy Central's foulmouthed, anti-establishment animated series "South Park," Isaac Hayes wants off because he finds the show's attacks on religion inappropriate.
Word is that Hayes was upset with an episode that aired in November, "Trapped in the Closet," that attacked Scientology, of which he's a follower. He asked the show to be released from his role as the sexually charged Chef.
"There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry toward religious beliefs of others begins," Hayes said in a statement.
"As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices," he added. Hayes' reaction stumped some, because the show that spawned "South Park" included Santa and Jesus in a death match, and throughout the run the producers have skewered various religions and celebrities.
"This has nothing to do with intolerance and bigotry and everything to do with the fact that Isaac Hayes is a Scientologist and that we recently featured Scientology in an episode of 'South Park,' " Matt Stone, co-creator of 'South Park,' said in a statement. "In 10 years and over 150 episodes of 'South Park,' Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews. He got a sudden case of religious sensitivity when it was his religion featured on the show. To bring the civil-rights struggle into this is just a non sequitur. Of course, we will release Isaac from his contract and we wish him well."

I can't believe Isaac is a scientologist. How lamatoid. Last nights episode was the other spoof, about Blanetologists.
Anyway, I'm really sad. I don't know that anyone else could do that voice as much justice.

Sounds like Isaac has some Thetans that still need to be cleared...
I read an article in Rolling Stone a few weeks ago about Scientology, and it said something along the lines of a tendency for rational-minded people (their words, not mine) to lose interest/esteem for celebrities they found out to be Scientologists. I didn't pay it much mind, until I recently found out some people I considered pretty cool were members - I could give a crap about Tom Cruise, John Travola, or Kirstie Alley - but these folks:
- Danny (That '70s Show) and Chris (Malcolm in the Middle) Masterson
- Beck
- and now, Isaac Hayes

I wonder if some people consider themselves Scientologists, but aren't as strict? I realize that I don't know these celebrities personally, but some just seem so down to earth & not as wacky as others. Leah Remini, Danny Masterson, Kelly Preston - maybe they just keep their opinions to themselves unlike Cruise?
Or are there like Scientology "Chreasters?" You know, Christians that only go the church on Christmas & Easter.

I know a couple of people who are into it for the business aspect and it seems to work for them.
Everything said and done, I think it is a cult and a rip off despite the Christian notions of self-auditing and doing good to others.

Kelly Preston definitely doesn't keep her opinions to herself about Scientology. She and John Travolta supposedly are encouraging Katie Holmes to have a "silent birth", and have talked in many interviews about her own silent birth with her last child. Also, after Tom Cruise lost his mind with Matt Lauer and Brooke Shields, Kelly Preston came to his defense. And she and Kirstie Alley wrote a letter to the FDA about their opposition to psychiatric drugs: http://people.monstersandcritics.com/article_9335.php
I also have read interviews with Leah Remini, where she's talked about Scientology and how great it is. I read an article where she mentioned that she did the "silent birth" thing when she delivered her kid. She claims it's not as weird, though, as it's made out to be in the press -- that the mother isn't expected to be "totally silent" and can have pain medication if she feels it's necessary, although she's encouraged not to.

It is so funny because Cruise has had plastic surgery and that required lots of drugs. Moreover, let one of their kids get sick and their tune likely will change.
Finally, I think everyone agrees that going on psychtrophic drugs, etc., is not the first choice anyone makes. Moreover, those drugs cannot make you whole, whatever that may be. But, to many who need them to make their brains somewhat better, the side effects are well worth it. I think the problem happens when they are over or mis perscribed, as they often are.

I do agree that drugs are often over/mis prescribed. I definitely don't have an argument with Cruise, et al., that Ritalin is over prescribed. But, lashing out against all prescription drugs (and psychiatric drugs in particularl) is way over the top. As you said, these drugs are needed by some people. Cruise's claim to Matt Lauer that "there's no such thing as a chemical imbalance" just goes to show how blatently ignorant he is. I wonder if he realizes that Brooke Shields (who he criticized for taking Paxil post-partum) lost a bipolar co-star that killed himself after going off his medication. I'm sure his family would disagree that "there's no such thing as a chemical imbalance".
I wouldn't be surprised if Cruise has laid down the law with Katie that she's not allowed to have an pain medication when she gives birth. If so I really hope she beats the sh*t out of him during labor. I've had a child, and know how painful it is. My epidural wore off during labor, and I was in excrutiating pain. If you can get through labor without drugs, great. But nobody should be forced to go without, if they need it. Also, god forbid she suffers from post-partum depression. He'll probably just throw some vitamins at her and tell her to run around the block a few times.

I had horrible back labor. That was the only place the epidural wore off! Back labor feels like someone is repeatedly hitting you in the small of your back with a sledgehammer! Not fun at all. If it had worn off everywhere, I don't think I'd be here today... I would have either killed myself or killed someone in the delivery room! As it was, I almost strangled my nurse because she took it upon herself to turn my epidural pump off completely so I'd feel the contractions in my stomach. When my doctor found out, she made her turn it back on, thank god!

if Katie has post-partum depression she should UNLOAD the magazine into Tom's body (Tom's newest fave song will be Pat Traver's "Boom Boom Out Goes the Lights")...Then for a joke call the ER to see if they can save him WITHOUT giving him any "pain meds", Then have the ER pump him full (We know Tom likes being "pumped full" dont we?) as many "pain meds" as humanly possible to burst his ego-driven brainwashed, stupified, suckass **** for an actor SCIEN-A-TARD ass!

The only thing about Scientology that bothers me is that it is referred to as a "religion". L. Ron Hubbard is not a saviour, is not a religious figurehead.
I mean, c'mon, Werner Erhard's EST (& now "The Forum") isn't considered "religion" and Scientology is just a similar organization (albeit with a more massive & celebrity-driven membership)

I could go for that!
I absolutely loathe the man after his comments towards Brooke Shields about PPD, and to Matt Lauer about psychiatry. Her response was great. Until he can give birth himself, he has no business telling a woman how to treat PPD.
And his statement that "there's no such thing as a chemical imbalance" makes my blood boil. I know people who bi-polar family members, and when they're not on their medication, they are dangerous to themselves. I also know many people who are depressed, and I have suffered from depression myself. Telling someone to take vitamins to get over it is a crock of ****! And when you're that depressed, you barely have enough energy to get out of bed in the morning, much less exercise.
He definitely needs to be "taught a lesson", and I think Katie's the best person to deliver it, in the midst of her PPD.

99.9999999999% of all celebrities & their PATHETIC lifestyle drama...Just entertain me for a few hours then go F.O.A.D.. I dont care what their religious/political/etc views are, Just entertain me (Or in most cases TRY to entertain me) because I will not jump onto something and nutswing just because a famous "so-and-so" says it works for them.
As for Psycho-Tom, I had to take Lexapro for a "chemical imbalance" which was making me freak out last Spring and suffer severe anxiety/stress problems (I guess with losing a parent, Life has a way of ripping a new A-HOLE on ya) and believe me it took the edge off of me.
If Psycho-Tom was to say to me to get over whatever is bothering me and that no "medicine will help" I would kick my foot so far up his ass he would have to open his mouth so I could tie my shoestrings!
I just hope when whoever-it-is that shows Psycho-NUT a reality check, that this event (aka "Almost Impossible Mission") is showed on TV (I love when celebrities have their "Fall From Grace") so I can have some comedic entertainment for once.

Totally, The Forum is shady and scary. I have experience with them but not Scientology. I know someone who had a psychotic break after The Forum. Their brainwashing is really bad news.
Here's an interesting older article about Scientology http://www.rickross.com/reference/scientology/scien413.html rickross.com is a good resource for information on cults. I contacted him when my friend got sick but when a reporter contacted me I was actually afraid to speak out against Landmark Education (creators of The Forum) because of their power.
The Forum is so strange, there is a Forum Leader giving the "seminar" and then everyone else who helps him out is a volunteer. How do they get people to do that willingly? BRAINWASHING!

me and a friend of mine (chris) went to the one in hollywood once...
heres what happened...
we get there and they take us to a dark room. they give us both questionaires which upon reading contained personal questions along the lines of family history and how one feels about oneself and others, etc.
they left the room, and i told chris i would half-ass answer these...he started writing books. so they came back, took our papers, and left us again. they came back and started to tell us how we could really be helped by them, chris more so than me, and that this is what it would cost for the program. immed i opted out; although they made attempts to convince me, i declined. chris however was all into what they were saying even with my urging to think about it. they said ok you (niki) can come along while we take chris through a little walk-thru. so we followed them from the room, where they took us to another large room with little offices within that toom. they placed us in a room for a long time. during that time i was like chris man this is creepy you cant even afford this to which he replied they said that they would work with me for the $$$. so they came back and got us. they took chris to the large room, sat him on the chair while i stood a ways away and watched. then this guy appears out of nowhere and is proclaimed to be some highup on the scien scale some chit like that. he stands before chris and unleashes every possible insult known to mankind, all of which is directed at chris personally based on responses he made to his questionaire (about being blind in one eye from a childhood accident; how ugly he is due to that, blah blah) it went on for about five mins...while i stood there in disbelieving tears at what was happening to my friend. finally im like chris we are leaving...at this point he was ready to leave after being pummeled with every insult imaginable. we charged down the hallways to get out of there with three on our heels all the way to the parking lot and beyond. i ran into a tree and, bent there in pain, one guy actually said to do it again without hitting the tree and i will feel no pain...we ran screaming at that point. we laugh on it now...but feel for those who would be susceptible.
i admit i tried the walk-thru the pain bit once later on as needed...

im here to tell you it didnt work for chit. :wavey:
Why did they insult him? Is that like part of the initiation or something?

Why did they insult him? Is that like part of the initiation or something? yes it was a simulation of 'auditing' however chris didnt receive the bio hookups for a reading...as this was a walk-thru they were just showing what happens...the idea is that eventually you become conditioned to being able to be insulted by someone in this fashion and it will not have any consequence to you emotionally...kind of like a dog who is always kicked and expects to get kicked to the point he doesnt feel it anymore...lets just say its f'd up.

Yeah, he's a freak. By the way, what's this "silent birth" thing? And what other totally wacky, spaced out **** can the Scientologists come up with next? :]
Scientologists believe that delivery of the baby should be as calm as possible. The mother and everyone in the room is supposed to stay as quiet as possible. Also, they "encourage" the mother to not have any pain-killing drugs during delivery, and to deliver at home if possible.) So while the mother is undrugged, and going through the pain of labor, she's not supposed to moan, scream, etc.
If the woman delivers in the hospital, the medical personnel are also supposed to be quiet. So they're not supposed to verbally communicate with each other, or at least as little as possible. (I wonder what happens if an emergency occurs? Such as if the baby needs to be taken by caeserean? I wonder if that's allowed under the "Scientology rules"?)
The reason behind "silent birth" is that Scientologists believe that any noise, particularly screaming of the mother, will "register" in the baby's brain, and they'll be "traumatized".
Scientologists also believe that you should leave the baby alone for 7 days after the birth. (Or maybe 2 weeks? I can't remember which.) So they believe in having very little interaction with the baby during that time period. So much for bonding with your child!
I've also read that when a Scientologist's child gets hurt or sick, the parents aren't supposed to react. They're not supposed to coddle or comfort the child. The reason being that they want the child to learn to be independent, and don't want to "excite" the child. Again, I guess they believe if the parent gets upset or anxious, it will "traumatize" the child.
Basically, it appears to me that Scientologists pretty much don't believe in bonding with their children, and letting their children pretty much raise themselves.

...kind of like a dog who is always kicked and expects to get kicked to the point he doesnt feel it anymore...lets just say its f'd up. omg what kind of example was that niki! :(
much like TC with the prescript bit...
he sees no need to medicate pain
as he has been conditioned not to have any.

Ok guys I just have to say something. This may go against scientology and if someone here is a scientologist then I am sorry if I may offend.....but that episode of South park was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! While they were talking abotu the story of scientology they posted a message under it saying "this is what they really believed"....I Died laughin. It was possibly one of the greatest south park moments......ever.
Go watch it!

Here's some info I found on silent births and the "7 days" after the birth.
What a silent birth would mean for Katie:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9620245/
(I've recently read a few articles that claim Cruise made the mothers of his adopted children go through silent births!)
This one contains a quote from L. Ron Hubbard's about leaving the child alone for the first 24 hours after the birth:
http://www.slate.com/id/2128041/?nav=ais#ContinueArticle
Apparently, the baby is also supposed to live the first 7 days after birth in silence. The parents aren't even supposed to talk to the child. I assume they provide basic needs such as feeding and diapering, but no verbal consoling when the child cries, etc.
Here's an article about a couple who challenged mandatory state blood tests for newborns, based on the "7 days of silence" Scientology rule:

No doubt this is a friggin cult! No one in their right mind would believe this crap is a good idea.

I agree, its on You Tube too! I want to watch it again now. Stupid work. Also, for sh*t's and giggles, do a search in You Tube on "Scientomogy". There's a hilarious Dane Cook skit in there and Tom's gems from last year's publicity debacles.

I will NEVER understand men who give instructions on how to act giving birth. Obviously, I don't know how much it hurts either, but for L. Ron to give that type of instruction and for people to actually follow it...ridiculous.

Inside Move: 'South Park' feeling some celeb heat?
Cable net abruptly pulls repeat of Scientology episode
By MICHAEL FLEMING
The battle between "South Park" creators TreyParker and Matt Stone and Scientology is escalating.
The dust-up gained steam last week when Isaac Hayes, a practicing Scientologist who has long been the voice of the character Chef, quit after objecting to a "South Park" episode called "Trapped in the Closet," which lampooned both the religion and Tom Cruise.
The skirmish continued this week, when Comedy Central abruptly pulled a repeat of that episode that was scheduled to air Wednesday evening. Showing instead was another memorable seg which featured Hayes's character, called "Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls."
Blog reports pegged the mysterious episode switch to objections raised by Cruise, who, the reports stated, threatened to not promote "Mission: Impossible 3," the summer tentpole for Viacom-owned Paramount.
A spokesman for Cruise denied that Cruise had ever made such a threat. "He never said any such thing about 'Mission: Impossible 3," the spokesman said.
While the "South Park" creators didn't directly comment on Comedy Central's decision to pull the episode, they issued an unusual statement to Daily Variety indicating the battle is not over.
"So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!"
The duo signed the statement "Trey Parker and Matt Stone, servants of the dark lord Xenu."
