I just watched "Walk the Line" (which was great by the way) and was thinking
what an awesome movie it would be to see the story of Lindsey and Stevie's rise to fame/love story. Starting out in the late 60's opening for Janis and Jimi...then on into the Buckingham/Nicks music, on to signing with FM...then the break up, the drugs...etc...ending with the reunion. I think it would be great.
Wanted to hear what other think. Also...who would play Stevie & Lindsey?
Could Shery Crow pull it off?

Could Shery Crow pull it off?
Eeek. Hell no. :sorry:
There was a discussion on this on the Stevie forum a while back, I think. Interesting...

I think Sarah Jessica Parker would be a good Stevie. Am I crazy, or do they kind of look alike?
And, Sarah is young enough to play Rumours era Stevie yet old enough to play Dance era Stevie.
And, they're both short!

Maybe Tarek from this season's Apprentice (with contact lenses) as a young Lindsey and Alicia Silverstone. I always thought she looked alot like Stevie. Tarek isn't an actor but then neither is Paris Hilton or some of those other young "stars:lol: " out there.

Dont laugh, but I think that Hilary Duff could pull off a young Stevie Nicks - i.e. pre Tusk.
Seriously, look at her new video 'The Beat of My Heart' and you'll see what I mean. Its something to do with those high cheek-bones :o

Sarah Jessica Parker.. in some pics I can see the resemblance.
Overall, though, I say it's a BAD idea. It would never be any good. Also, what is the point? Is it really such a fascinating story?? Objectively? No. It would be a bad film, imo.

I really don't see any resemblance between SJP and Stevie. The only thing they have in common is a variety of blond hair highlights. SJP doesn't have the physique, the looks, the nose, the eyes, the organic, heartshaped, turned upper lip, look of Stevie. Stevie was and is small, but she wasn't sinewy/boney like SJP.
If Meg Ryan were younger, and had the right hairstyle, she might pass as a Stevie on film. But that shipped has passed. There has also been talk about this on another FM site, and someone mentioned Brittany Murphy as a possible Stevie. That could work for me. I agree with the Hillary Duff concept. She'd pass for a young Stevie.
For Lindsey...perhas Jared Leto with some curls in his hair?
However, I don't think a B&N film would happen. June Carter and Johnny Cash had a different, more storied history, steeped in roots of America. There was an element of blood, guts and dirt in Johnny's music. Along with June's Christian family and their legend - a Carter/Cash story has much more weight than Stevie and Lindsey's. The lightweight, 70's California Rock sound, from which S&L came from, as wonderful as it is, is probably akin to an original drama for VH1. Their story has about the same kind of drama as any other singer songwriter has in their pocket, and as for their romance and problems, it's about as dramatic as your best friend's big breakup, or your own. It's just that it's pumped up on a different level when put in song and in performance.
I don't think that two kids from Cali, who were the son and daughter of corporate executives, ilicit as much interest as the son of a poor farmer and a legendary country sing does. Just my opinion.....

the last time we discussed this ad nauseum (or the second-to-last, or third-to-last....) someone brought up Sienna Miller and had like 5000 pictures showing side-by-side comparisons. You'd never confuse them on the street, but I still think she's a better fit than most of the other people mentioned...

Sienna Miller works. I've always thought the one person who really, really looked like Stevie back in the day was Carrie Fisher - when she was young. If you gave her the same hair, hair color and makeup...they'd be sisters.

I think [JOHNNY] this might [DEPP] be [SHALL] interesting, but [BE] it would have to [BUCKINGHAM!!!] be done really well ...
Gotta love that subliminal messaging...
