Went last night. OK, first my minor complaints.
1 - The venue (Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center) is ****. The sound was pretty good, it was small, very intimate - I think 2000 people max. BUT - it was like a big conference room. We sat on dining room-like chairs. And no slope - totally flat floor, so if someone in front of you is taller, too f*cking bad. The stage was kind of high, which helped, but still, unless you're in the first few rows, you can't see well at all. More about that in a moment.
2 - Heart played for less than 90 minutes. Maybe they were tired from the A.C. show the night before, maybe I'm spoiled by 2 hour Mac & Eagles shows, but I was a tad disappointed. I am also well aware that they do not do much 80's stuff anymore, too commercial, they don't like it, blah blah blah. I was still hoping for Never or What About Love. But that's OK.
Complaints over. They kicked the **** out of that place. Yes, it was only 90 minutes, but it was 90 minutes of straight on balls out rock and roll. THIS is why people bitch about Stevie seeming stiff - these ladies have more energy than I do and they're at least 20 years my senior. I was blown away, and so was everyone else in the place. They were spot on, musically & vocally. Ann sings as good as she did 30 years ago, if not better. Amazing.
Now, we had 5th row seats but they were in the side section which was angled funny, so it was actually like 10th or 15th row. Prety good, not great. I noticed that people started walking right up to the stage & stayed there & no one said a WORD! So about halfway through, I did the same thing & I watched the rest of the set about 10 feet away from Miss Nancy Wilson. I was taking pics like mad, nobody cared. I got some video too, I'll get it up when I can.
No order, and I think I'm missing 1 or 2 tunes:
Rock and Roll (they opened with this!)
Alone
These Dreams
Bebe Le Strange
Even It Up
Kick It Out
Magic Man
Straight On
Barracuda
Love Alive
Lost Angel
Crazy On You
Encore:
Black Dog
Misty Mountain Hop
Battle of Evermore
Like I said, I'm forgetting a couple I think. Also, they did 2 encores, can't remember how exactly it got split up but I know that last one was all Zep. Great show, if you get the chance to see them, GO!!! You will not be sorry. Pics to follow...

Cool review. I've seen them before...several years ago. They rock it.
Did they do All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You or Never or What About Love or If Looks Could Kill?
EDIT:
How is Ann doing? She had that stomach band procedure a while ago. Hope it didn't disrupt her health.

No, they didn't do any of those. Of the 1 or 2 songs I may have forgotten to list, they were either cover songs or pretty obscure Heart tunes that I'm not familiar with. The more I think about it, maybe I didn't forget any. I'll check the Heart board & see.
Ann looked bigger than I thought she'd be, the recent pics I had seen made me think she'd lost some weight. Her legs are actually pretty thin, she carries it in her abdomen, waist & chest. But being overweight honestly does not seem to affect her performance AT ALL! She was very energetic, seemed happy & healthy, singing her heart out. She was drinking a lot water. Nancy was drinking beer. After Ann intro'd the band, Nance intro'd Ann as "Ann F'ing Wilson, people!"
They are so cute, down to earth, really interracting with the crowd. No "Edge walk" moments, but they tossed a few picks & the entire front row was literally leaning on the stage with their arms resting on it & there were no problems at all. Very cool ladies. The band was tight, I'm not familiar with names (sorry) but there were guys on guitar, bass & drums & a chick on keys.
One thing that made me chuckle - they both wore black. They both wore flat shoes. Nancy had on black leggings with a skirt over them - the skirt had a lace hem. :D Too funny.
OK, here come some pics. Most of you know that I'm not a stellar photographer, but I have my moments. Well, I like to think I do. I must say, A&N jump around so much it is REALLY hard to get a clear pic of either of them! Really hard. I did manage a few decent ones. There are a few that I just think are cool even though they're not clear, because of color, or lighting, or whatever, so I'll include them.

Holy cow, can she still sing! Her yell was goosebump worthy. Awesome.
Mageboy-gastric bypass is so much more invasive than what she has had done. Not everyone is willing to have such invasive surgery.

Here it is...
So arrived at the Taj Decades Rock Live Arena at 8:30...let me describe my view: GRUNGE and GOTH! Now I knew that Alice In Chains was going to be there and I was familiar with one or two songs: Rooster and Would? But I didn't think that this was their style...even on stage they weren't dress like the fans... Basically, the whole arena was all AIC. I think the only reason Heart soldout was because AIC was there... But On to the show:
So at about 9:15 the lights went down and Decades Rock Live Producer, Barry Summers, came on stage, which is pushed far back with tv's all around and a lot of lights and has a pit where fans stand and has a walkway around it...which was not used and welcomed us and mentioned how DRL was the hottest concert series. He said that tonight he was making Rock history because he was bringing Seattle's best music to an AC stage... so he introduced the warm-up: AIC Crowd interaction: F****n wild!!!
They opened up with Angry chair with members Jerry cantrell, Mike Inez(who is the current bassist for Heart), with new member William Duvall on lead vocals and Duff McKagan on guitar. William Duvall was very energetic and boxed during the songs. Jerry said it's great to be back and the ovations were crazy!!! After that they did Man In the Box with images of men in boxes in the background. Then came Would? as the closer but after Would?, Mike Inez through his bass across the stage, which was uncalled for and they had to do MITB and Would? again...with twice the enthusiasm!
When they finished, they said that they would be back later and Barry Summers came on stage and showed us highlights of some past DRL performances such as The DOORS, Bonnie Raitt, and Cyndi Lauper and then showed us Gretchen Wilson's pre-taped performance with Heart from Thursday night. They did When I Think About Cheating which was a nice slow country ballad where Ann and Gretchen really put there hearts into, then they did Even It Up which was really good with Ann and Gretchen I loved how they both sang"Even It Up, Even It Up..." Then they did Rock and Roll and let me tell you for a country singer, Gretchen f****n rocked on this one and Ann's wails before where Stevie would do her tambo toss was incredible!
After that, we were told that most of us would be on tv and we had to keep our cheers up. My girls were introduced, they came on: Ann with her silver-buttoned long hemed coat, black top, tight black pants, white and black sneaks, and the top of her hair pulled up in a wild bun and a black acoustic guitar and Nancy in her felt black jacket with a Partridge family shirt underneath and jeans bothed kicked off the night with an awesome cover of Led Zep's battle of Evermore...which had great echoes by the both of them. Then, they said that tonight was going to be an amazing night and they then did JD's Lost Angel which was really powerful. Then, we got an acoustic version of These Dreams with a mandolin which I was not crazy about. It was funny how nancy introduced it though:"Here's a love song for yaalsies "
Then, Ann introduced the first guest as good looking and a great guitar player...DAVE VNAVARRO!!! He gave us one of the best versions of Bebe Le Strange. Ann was playing tough girl for this one. Straight On came next with a great intro. Suddenly, Nancy and Dave slam right into Crazy On You with one of the best versions I've ever heard. Nancy kicked her leg up way higher than Stevie and even scissored and crisscrossed her legs. Ann belted out Sweet Flowin' LOVE!!!!!!!!! The end had FULL POWER! Dave left and Rufus Wainwright came on. he did one of his songs with them...sorry, can't tell you what it was...I have no idea. Then all I know is that he completely butchered Dog & Butterfly, one of my favorite songs, and it sounded lik Michael Jackson was singing it You could only imagine what that was like! When Ann started singing, me and the rest of the crowd were cheering like crazy! After that there was a setup break, and Ann came back, I think, with a longer coat on, and did Alone. Right before" You don't know how long..." Carrie Underwood came out and sang the rest of it with them. Her and Ann were putting their souls into it...especially Ann. Carrie then thanked heart for having her with them and saying how much of an honor it was to be sharing the stage with them that night...which i thought was really nice.
Then Ann grabbed her tambo and started banging it to carrie's "that's Where It Is." We then sang happy 23rd to Carrie and shew blew out the candles on her onstage cake and left. Ann got her flute and one of my favorite songs was played, Love Alive. Ledgies, you are going to love this song once you see the show on VH1. Another setup break. Ann introduced Alice In Chains and said how great it was for them to be backed together and they played my favorite AIC song, Rooster. All I can say is that Ann's background vocals were incredible...she absolutely blew me away. It was cute when William Duvall was holding Ann...cute couple Setup break. Magic Man...WOW!!! Ann was howlin'! A really rockin' version with Ann really active. AIC and Dave enter: Barracuda with 5 guitars!!! Best song of the night! Best version of Barracuda...hands down...best ever!!!! Kicks and jumps...phew!!! Some weird guy jumps on stage...security drags him right off AIC leaves and Ann starts"Hey Baby see the way you move gonna make you sweat...gonna make you groove...Hands up in the air and head banging by Ann...she was really groovin' Friday night MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP...WOOHOOOO!!!! I was hoping I would get this one...Ann and Dave were great. he was jumping on the drumset...She was walikng really fast and shaking her self...my sexy Annie Dave left after this and Anne told him to get a room He told Ann that she was sexy. He's looking for a Demi/Ashton thing
Ann gets her ukulele and closes with the journey of Dreamboat Annie... She made me cry with that ukulele...it was so beautiful. She thanked us and rode away on the diamond waves. I love you girls and I'll see you in August!!!

My best friend was at the A.C. show. This was HUGE for AIC fans, they haven't heard a thing from them since Layne died & when she heard about this show, she was all over it. Had a ball. Apparently, the crowd was really ****ty at several points in the show, booing Carrie Underwood & Rufus. May not be your taste in music, but how rude. Glad my crowd were mostly diehards - lots of Mongers there.

I saw Heart in Sept. of 2004, had a great time. Started out w/ 12th row and ended up right at the stage, cuz everyone else did it! Looks like they did the same set list, but they opened with Bebe Le Strange and I think we did get Dog & Butterfly.

I like those songs too Amber, but it seems like they stay away from that mid-80's stuff as much as possible! I think that whole era leaves a bad taste in their mouths. I do like Alone, but I wish they would go back to the power ballad version rather than play the acoustic version all the time.

Absolutely, I can't wait. It's worth it just to hear that aforementioned Alone yell.

That's when she gets the crowd going crazy...it's her trademark howling:laugh:
Okay, I just got a chill thinking about her doing that note!

I'm surprised I missed that. I probly wouldn't remember it much either though. I saw Heart once the summer before last and Nancy solo once.

Ooooh, how was Nancy's solo show? I have that "Live at McCabe's" album, the live recording she did in that guitar shop, I think it's in Seattle. I like it, she does a lot of Joni Mitchellesque vocal acrobatics which is cool.

It was pretty low-key, she did the whole thing unplugged. It was at the Paradise which is pretty small and intimate. I enjoyed it very much. I don't remember the details though. I just admire her so much for her playing, songwriting, and singing. I got my ticket stub signed! For some reason I didn't think of bringing anything, duh, but I had her sign that. She was too tired to greet fans but she signed stuff we passed backstage through a roadie, neat huh?

Too tired? Yikes! She must have played her heart out for you guys. That's cool that she signed your stubb. I've heard that both Ann and Nancy are really fan-friendly and incredibly nice individuals. I'd love to meet them, I bet they would be a hoot. They have some really funny banter between them at shows.

She did, she may have even been sick. My friend who I dragged along was very patient with me! He didn't even have any idea who Nancy was. Now that's a friend!

glad you had a good time. I had hoped Ann was still looking as good as she did a couple years back. Her face is always gorgeous though.

In honor of this, I belted "Unchained Melody" last night while my friend and I were playing around my house. That beeeyotch goes into maby three octaves in that song  Sadly, dogs howled in unison with me
