So what dumb things have you done?
One time I put a CD in the microwave. It's really dumb but it makes the coolest blue lighting effect when it first sizzles. Always fun on a easy, Sunday morning.

Now that's really dumb. You've got the feeling now!
Be sure to lay the CD on a mug or something. The blue flames are wild.
Don't nuke it too long as the blue lighting bolts are quick.

Even better, my brother videotaped it! I also sat on him, but that was only because he probably looked like a pony to my 3 year old eyes. He was huge. (uh, my cat, not my brother...)

Hmm, well when I was about 13, I decided to look to close at a boiling pot of water on the stove. It didnt spill, but my leg touched the side of he hot stove, and I still have a scar from that.

Always fun on a easy, Sunday morning.I was holding a bunch of grocery bags, one of which had eggs & a new light bulb in it, as I was trying to get in the front door & instead of putting down a bag to unlock the door, I held the bag whilst trying to open the door, which of course didn't work very well, so I got impatient & all wound up & in a fit of pique, threw the first bag that I thought of against the wall outside, & wouldn't you know but the eggs & light bulb broke.
What Socrates meant by living an "examined life" means many things, among them understanding & admitting that one is an asshole. To me, there is no hope for happiness unless one lives an examined life, & part of that is understanding & admitting that the asshole in one comes out all the time & renders one unfit for the honorific "human being" (which not only implies sentience but reason).
Our lives are rounded with a sleep, as Shakespeare said, but they are also weighted down with folly & vice.

I've done plenty of dumb things but the first that came to mind, which is funny, is in high school while we were playing volleyball. I had my hands up to hit the ball only they were too far apart. The ball came between them and hit me in the eye! Why I did not close my eye is beyond me. Just one of those things I suppose.

haha, i did that, too! hootie and the blowfish, baby - they deserved it!
i've done so many stupid things it's difficult to choose one thing out of a general haze of stupidity ... uhhh, well, i play violin, and i played a solo at this church, and to get off stage, i had to walk down 4 or 5 steps to this door that led to the sound control room, and i took one step and tumbled down the rest of the stairs, crumpling against the door. luckily, my violin was in tact. sadly, my pride was not.

Here's another in the plethroa of dumb things I've done. When I was 6 and our family was getting ready to go on our boat we had at the time, we were walking down the dock and I wasnt paying attention and walked right off the end into the water. Seriously, if my stepdad wouldnt have seen me and jumped in after me, there might have been a problem.

that sounds exactly like something i would do ... in fact, i'm sure i've done it many times. i've broken more things in a fit of frustration with myself because of some lesser act of stupidity ... sigh!

Hahaha. That's some good ****. I was performing on stage in front a sold out crowd (years ago) and a part of a scene had me dangerously close to the edge of the stage and I'm supposed to "take a step back" on que of a line, well I took a step right off the stage! One foot remained on the stage and the rest of me was on the floor. Too funny. I just worked it in of course being the clever actor I am. Hahaha.

What's wrong with love? Awww...honey. You should know better: "well, it's better to have loved and lost (ahh..but it's better not to lose) than to always be alone (always be alone) in your heart..."

That's pretty dumb! Ouch! I used to play WallyBall (similiar to VolleyBall, but played in a raquet ball court off walls)...I have had so many face and ball encounters it's not even funny.

That's some funny ****. Speaking of Dad's helping us kids out. My brother and I were sitting next to each other on a cable car in San Francisco and up the hill we go and for some weird reason, my brother and I (were we young) peed our pants at exactly the same time and the urine run started going down the cable car bench right into my Dad. He saved some people by blocking most of it.

I've done a zillion dumb things in my life.
In junior high, I accidently wore my socks while taking a post-gym class shower. The a-hole coach pointed it out in front of everyone.
I was hospitalized for eating rocks when I was 4.
I didn't file my taxes a few years in a row. (all cleaned up now)
I got addicted to drugs. (all cleaned up now)
I saw Rick Springfield in concert.
I spent money I didn't have to go to the 1998 AHI fiasco.
Once I jumped into my wall. I was looking for a sock. I had a large queen size bed at the time, and I wanted to look over the other end. Obviously, the best way to do this in with a Superman-style jump over it. I jumped a little too far. I hit my head HARD on the wall. I ended up with a minor concussion, but the worst part was having to explain this half-baked story to doctors and others.

things that come to mind:
Playing cigarette chicken 4 years ago, with my friend Alan, and i have a permanent hideous scar from the burn on my forearm.
In junior high I jumped from the bleachers in the school gym to hang from the basketball rim. I caught the rim but only held on for about 2 seconds, then fell backwards and landed on my head. I was knocked unconscious for about 2 minutes. Talk about a lump!
I paid $700 for 2 front row Fleetwood Mac tickets in May 2004. ha!
I finally had "relations" with a girl where there was sexual tension all thru high school. I left Little Rock and moved back to Atlanta, about 4 years after we graduated. It was great for about 3 months, but it wasn't based on anything but sex, and it ruined the friendship.

-I tried to "climb my bedroom wall" when I was three and busted my head open.
-Smoked weed while drunk. :distress:
-Attempted to walk through a screen door, and we (the screen door and I) landed in my friend's living room.
-Went the wrong way down an exit ramp and headed straight on into traffic. (And I was totally sober.)
There's so many other things. Maybe I'll post more later.

I ran into our screen door with a sucker sticking out of my mouth (had a long stick) and it went down my throat. Had to pull it out.
I guess I have an oral fixation (insert joke here  LOL), so I put a BB in my mouth (for a BB gun) once. Accidentally swallowed it and scratched my throat, but I swore to my mom it was stuck in there. LMAO!
Used Vanish (to clean your toilet) on my legs once. Thought it would make the hair vanish.
Cut my leg open on a car bumper. Yeah. The scar looks like a leech because I didn't go have stitches. LOL
Put a rock up my nose when I was little.
Choked on a penny (oral thing again) and my mom gave me the heimlich.
Got in trouble when my friend's mom took me home, even though my mom specifically told me to stay at the movie theater so she could come get me. She was piiiiiiiiiiisssssed when she got back home and at the time, I was like "What's the big deal?!" but now I know...she was worried sick.
While mom and I were standing at a street corner waiting for her friend to pick us up...this guy drove by and looked at us. I waved. Didn't really think about it being a HUGE no-no and I got scared when it looked like the dude was turning around to come back. He didn't though.
It was probably piss poor weed. I try not to drink cheap ass alcohol. ;)
Good girl! Life is waaaaaay too short for cheap weed and cheap booze. Nothing but Vancouver bud and Pouilly Fuisee for me!!!:p

I've done some stupid things.. I've forgotten most of them but a few recollections include.
1) Sticking my finger in a live lamp socket and getting hit with 240 volts when I was 9. I knew what would happen but did it anyway.
2) Trying to open a container with a pair of scissors and puncturing right though the flesh between my right thumb and fingers. That stung a bit.
3) Setting fire to the gas taps in a chemistry lesson. Oh, and making a mercury thermometer explode too.
4) Breaking a toe on a door getting up to take a p*** in the night. Ouch.
5) Driving at 135mph in heavy rain. I'll not mention where but it was a long time ago and rather stupid.
6) Breaking both my arms at once falling over.
7) Snorted coke. I mean Coca Cola not Cocaine. Ever wondered what it's like to burn you nostril hairs out?
Stupid is as stupid does...

Yep, you're a prize.
I'll share a couple of my more embarrasing ones.
Back in my highschool days my brother and I were outside having just smoked something which made me vomit. We had previously been drinking beer and not just any beer but Heifenrefer. Oh that stuff is vile. Right in the middle of vomitting my parents came home early. We tried to sneak in through the basement so they wouldn't see us go through the back door. My brother turned the light off though on his way up leaving me in complete darkness. I had no idea where I was until I wound up under the stairs. Instead of doubling back I tried to go under a shelf. There was virtually no clearance and when I finally got out, covered in dust bunnies and dirt, my mother was standing over me and asked, "What are you doing?" And I replied, "Getting out".
The other was also back then, after I learned to drive. Someone didn't feel like moving their car so I was told to go around them. I had to drive forward up onto the lawn and then back up beyond the car. Well, I got frustrated and while in reverse cut the wheel hard and gunned it taking out one of the posts of our deck! Oh man. :o It was such a loud noise everyone was so concerned and then just burst out laughing. Boy was I an airhead.

Oh, that's good, that is good. I have a similar story: I was 14 or 15, friend's parents were out for the night, we decided to get drunk at her house. Within a couple hours, my one friend was hysterical saying she couldn't feel her hands (off Old Milwaukee, no less. I still make fun of her for that.) Another friend was arguing with erh boyfriend. Another left & was wandering down the street. Of course, mom comes home at this point.
So what do we do? Run out the back door (after another friend ran through the sliding screen door, clearing the way for the rest of us.). We "hid" in the woods behind her house. Those woods were abour 40 feet by 40 feet. Of course mom found us, and to protect our friend we insisted "No, Vicki wasn't even here, we broke into your house to hang out." Dumbasses.
*I used to frequently go driving with a guy & polish off a 12 pack with him. While he drove around town underage. Ah, but he was hot & drove a 1983 Monte Carlo. :o
*I used to walk to & from our party spot in the woods (bigger than 40x40, btw) alone at night when I was 15/16, drunk & high. I lived in the burbs, but still. It scares the hell out of me that I was that stupid & never got attacked or raped or beat up or something.
*When I was 5 or so, I stuck a metal nail file in a fan. That was quite a jolt.

I walked all over town in the dark too. I never even worried which astounds me now.
I can't believe I was in the WOODS. Alone. At Night. Every weekend. And my parents had no clue, so if something did happen, nobody would have known until my drunken friends figured it out a day or 2 later that I hadn't shown up to the party.
Good (and by good I mean bad) drunk story. After driving around with hot drunk Monte Carlo guy one evening, we went to a party & got drunker. He drove me home & I walked in & my mother was yelling at me for being late. I went to my room & realized I had to puke.
So I ran down the hall into the bathroom & spun around fast to shut the door behind me. Well, during my uncoordinated spin, I slipped on the bathroom throw rug & fell backwards into the bathtub (which was directly to the right as soon as you walked in.) In doing so, I broke the soapdish off the wall with the back of my head (you know, those ceramic ones cemented to the wall to match the rest of the ceramic tile all over the shower wall?) So of course I black out & pee my pants. Nice. Thank God we didn't have those glass shower doors yet.
I wake up about 10 seconds later to my mother slapping me awake. She thought I was dead. I got undressed & went to bed. Woke up the next morning to her feeling around the back of my skull to make sure I hadn't bled to death in the night (she had done that several times during the night, apparently.) Never was I so embarrassed or disgusted with myself. My poor mother. My poor head. I had a bump on my head, but instead of the usual "goose egg" round one you get when you bump your head, it was an oblong one that ran the whole length of the base of my skull.

Oh, Paula.
I can't think of anything dumb I've done. Does talking count? Surely I must have done something totally retarded at some point.
I was in a play in 8th grade, had the lead, and for some bizarre reason I didn't memorize any of my lines. This was in front of the whole school and everything. That was extremely embarrassing, and I don't know why I didn't realize it would be. To top it off, the other girl playing the role (an 8th grader, I was in 7th) was super funny improv girl. If I recall, many people in the school were talking about how lame I was in that play. I never dropped a line onstage again. Ever.
That strikes me as the dumbest thing I ever did. How dull. I took acid at school when I had stuff to do, and it seems pretty dumb, but everything turned out fine and it was really fun, so I don't really think of it as dumb.

I saw some retard throw a petrol can into a bonfire surrounded by people ( i decided at that point to move away!). It exploded and shot out at about 80mph in the only gap where there were no people. Looked like the delorean in BTTF. A trail of fire across the parking lot. It was a miracle it didn't explode at another angle..

The dumbest thing I've witnessed is a friend of mine decided to see what would happen if he threw a lit match into a petrol (gas) can and looked in it.

That is a miracle! At the end of a 4th of July party I had this guy threw the empty box of fireworks into the fire while I'm yelling, "Noooo, don't!!!", I notice he is not listening and I get out of my chair and start running. Of course 2 or 3 fireworks went off toward different chairs, but no one was in them thank God. Drunk people are VERY dumb.
