I like how he puts certain things in quotations. It's so typical of him... A very "John thing" to do. ;)
getting the part for "Come". That was one of Lindsey's "Brain teasers".
I don't know if he meant to tease people's brains...
I collect just stuff, too. We have something in common!

Thanks for the questions. We've just moved house. I realised that I collect STUFF. From basses, books, records, WW2, tools, marine artifacts,. STUFF. I've found Music newspapers going back to the John Mayall days! Just STUFF. One of these days I'll have to have a yard sale.
PLEASE, John, let us know if you do! LOL

Is it considered improper etiquette to ask for an autograph at a yard sale?

Thank you Lis. John is my husband.
LOL I know you have a crush on him, dearie. :wavey:
FWIW I sent him the link to what the Q&A looks like, and told him that in the third picture down, he is smokin' hot. was that wrong of me, to be so bold?  Now I'm kind of embarrassed LOL.
I am drooling over just the thought of what music mags he must have collected over the years. I'd love to dig through his STUFF!-- the pictures, the articles....sigh. and he probably doesn't appreciate it in the way an obsessed fan like myself would!

John McVie is like a god. He is the most understated rocker you'll find.
I just saw him with Christine and Lindsey on an old outtake reel from 1982 when they were doing various promos for MTV. He sat down next to Chris and seductively whispered in her ear..."I want my MTV" to which the ex-Mrs. said..."you should be so lucky" while flicking her cigarette ash.
Oh, those crazy McVies! LOVE IT!!!:)

The best compliment I can pay John is that he is the real thing. He's a musician in it, still, for the music. It seems he can't be bothered with all the bull***t this business includes which is commendable. He seems totally unaffected by all the things virtually all artists fall victim to when they become successful. I think John still plays with the same feeling he did in the early days. Put him on a small stage in front of 30 people or in front of a million and he is still the same honest player. It's a rare thing these days.
John is not a fake, or a showman, he's the real deal.

Yes! Or at least it yielded my favorite answer of this batch. The Lindsey-John dynamic is tough for me to imagine, but I like knowing that John thinks of the basslines for some of Lindsey's songs as "brain teasers." John's so down-to-earth, while Lindsey so often has head in the clouds (or up his ass, depending on who you talk to), I imagine they have a lot of fun when they come together musically, even if they occasionally have a tough time sussing out what the other wants to do.

I think that might be four cold Orange juices for John these days... Me however, I'd be at home with the Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey. :D
And how many at room temperature?
However many he's up for! That's the nice thing about good beer: it's usually still good at a temperature where you can taste it.
Although as madformac suggested, John might be sticking to Shirley Temples...

Yeahhhhh. Although, actually, I would say he is a showman, because he's said he just likes to get up there and play live, that's why he's in it.

I think the thing for John is "the vibe". That feedback and feeling you can only get playing live. The studio is so clinical. It's calming in a way and you feel somewhat protected, and maybe a little bored at times too. Live is unpredictable, no room for error and you are rewarded with instant adulation. I think, from what I read anyway, that it's John's drug of choice these days. Good old fashioned adrenaline.. :)
And I'll join you with that Jack n Coke and Wild Turkey. ;)
How about a bottle each?

I'm trying! :woohoo: I love his replies brightening up my in box; I got a bit depressed when the last Q&A ended, although this time i'll be able to handle it much better LOL.
I really thought he was pretty much done, kept putting off when to ask him if he actually was 'cause I didn't really wanna hear the answer. I was very surprised when those came in yesterday. But I keep telling him no rush, take your time, etc so i guess i have to chill and remember all that when a long time goes by w/ nothing. But i feel like it's a fine line between appearing patient or appearing disinterested.
As you all know , last time some of his answers got lost, which made me nuts-- although thank God, this time if he thinks he 'hit a wrong button' or something  (is he the cutest?), he asks me 'did you get that' which has done wonders to help me relax!!! phew.
But if he wants to just do even a few questions every month, whenever the mood strikes him to sit down and answer whatever four are sitting there waiting, that's fine w/ me. The point is that he has fun and doesn't feel like it's a chore. And I love the end result, I get a rush every time i look at all those answers in one place LOL.
well i went off on a tangent, didn't I..?
Watch, now that i just wrote all this, he'll say he's done. typical.:wavey:

I remember Mick saying once how tough it was for him to get the drum parts for Sara right and I thought I'd ask John what were the toughest and easiest parts for him ot learn.

That so cracked me up. I can totally hear him saying it, and then pausing, and then just busting out in that adorable deep laugh he's got.
FWIW I have yet to ever see him use a 'smiley face' anywhere when he types, but he does use exclamation points almost in place of smileys... so most times when you see one of those in his response, odds are he is saying it w/ a smile. ! :woohoo:

Bass-players are cool. It's official now. It's a law. If you look up 'cool' in the dictionary, it should say 'bass-player'.
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? :shrug: To die: to sleep;
No more; :( and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. :nod: To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; :blob2: :blob1: :blob2:
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause:  there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? ;)
. . . . . who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of? :p
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; :o
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action. :distress: -- Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! :xoxo:  Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd. :wavey:
