I guess it just slipped awaaaaaay. *seems like the time, is slippin away*
But now you're saying you've been wrong, and you wanna come back home! You know I've known all along....

You're probably already a troll, don't sweat it.

I am asking myself the same question, almost every single day. I'll be 30 in June..
Anyway, you should listen to Nina Simone's song, with the exact same title. Or not, if you are in a bad mood. It's a very sad, but sweet, song.

you know what creeps me out real badly? (i'm 33 btw...), when i watch all those bizarre 80's music videos, and realizing that i'm so antique, that i've actually been there in real-time, thinking that looking and sounding like that is cool and hip.

Topping you all at 47:eek:
I remember when new "albums" you know...vinyl, came out and
waiting in line at the record store to buy "Tusk"- I already had 2 copies of Rumours because the first was scratched to hell...... And my Buckingham/Nicks record was really scratched too..but I could never find another...

The clothes-the incense-the drugs-the "talk" the whole late 70's groove, looking back it looks silly in some clips- the hair- the clothes-the "things" that were cool...but when you are 18 and it is 1976, when you were there to experience it and be a part of it all-Everything was changing.

This was the year that we were allowed to vote at 18 (a VERY big deal with the Vietnam war still very fresh), oh yes, we were also allowed to drink too.
In 1976, when you were 18, you legally became an adult...and how I loved it:) :)
I wish that some of you could have known the world then, for it truly was different~~eclipse~~

Sucks to you and your young age :p

I'm 30 and I'm feeling riddled with anxiety. Why? I don't really know. I guess it's because I think that I should have accomplished all kinds of wonderful, important things by now but imo, haven't. Ugh. I hate birthdays now. I remember when I turned 21 and thought I was just the shiznit, you know, when you're 20 you don't think about getting older, or that you're ever going to get old, boy, I wish I still had that same wide-eyed optimism.

BLOWHARD!

I am 39 as of last Nov. and am far from a troll. In fact, I look the best I have in a decade or so. Age is a state of mind my friend!

Though, I will admit, getting old does suck

I'm thinking...That 70's Show?

Yeah, you are among my mother-in-law's generation, and she talks about her youth in this same way, except that she had my husband at 16, so much of her life turned out to be a lot less carefree. I think about it, how hard that must've been to raise a child and overcome all kinds of obstacles at such a young age, makes me feel like I had it pretty easy growing up.

Well David ~ I feel your pain ~ I will be 35 in 3 days. I was thinking back on my birthdays past. Especially my 16th. Good times. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and other times it feels like it was lifetimes ago.

Sighh I am right there with you...Everything seemed so much more....innocent back then..I do get a kick though going to shop for clothes and see hanging on the racks ,clothes that almost identical to what I wore in the 70s.brings so many memories...I remember too..waiting so to receive letters from my big brother who was over in Nam..and me wearing my peace sign shirts and shoes and the rednecks getting bent out of shape..LOL>> ahh memories

I've been very nostalgic/melancholy lately about my age and how time is flying by. The closer I get to 40, the more freaked out I get. (I'll be 39 in September.) Scary! But, getting older certainly beats the alternative!

It all depends on what part you are looking at....

I do seem to stay reasonably youthful. I've used moisturiser since I hit 30. I figure it can't hurt. I just try not to talk about it. I am a guy!! It's one of those taboo subjects!! :)

I'll be 35 in April and I am baffled by the time thing too. It only gets worse too from what I hear. The good thing about getting older is you learn to accept where you're at and who you are. Life gets better and easier and you become happier. I could do without the bloody gray hair though!

I'm 36 and I can relate to how you feel. When I was young, I dreamed of finding a good job, meeting someone and getting married & owning a home. I'm still trying to become a better person so I can reach some of those goals. It's just been taking longer than I ever thought.

Me, too. :xoxo: Since about age 11, when I realized I had a long boring life ahead of me, and I'd have to work instead of play, and that eventually I'd be ugly and my limbs wouldn't work like I want them to.
I'm not sure about that getting older beats the alternative thing, but if it works for you, that's all that matters. :)

pfffffffft!

Isn't that La Mer stuff really expensive?? I use Neutrogena products for eyes and throat and they seem to work just fine. I don't even know if I really need it yet, but I guess it's good to start with the firming cream early .

A few months from 42, but you know what? Fourty is the new twenty! It really is!
I feel young, and active, and good , in general. I am a first time mommy to a 6-month-old-boy, and it feels like life's just starting! :woohoo:

I felt old on Wednesday night when I told a bartender that I was going to the Lucinda Williams concert after my drink and he said "oh, I think my Mom likes her."

:o

I have no issues with growing older, though....so much gets better.

Edit: Turning 35 won't make you a troll. But when you start trying to hide your bald spots, wear A&F "jock" clothes, and/or hang out in twinkie bars, check in with us.
