So, here I am, attempting to write a brief for my legal writing class, but I continuously pull up The Ledge to read through posts! Does anyone else have this sick problem, or am I the only one thinks The Ledge is a distraction?

In a good way of course...

I don't think I'm as bad a some. But after checking my e-mail, it's the first thing I do on the internet. Yeah definitely compulsive. And if I'm working on a project it's always back and forth.

a distraction, But an enjoyable one at that. Definitely more addicting than most may believe.

While I was sick early last week (Then out of town later in the week), I dropped in on "lurk mode" to see what was up since this place seems to have become a part of me since I first posted back in June 2001.

I'm definitely an addict, although I'm WAAAAY worse on days that I have nothing to do. Last Wednesday, I was off work, with no errands to run, or ANYTHING. I spent pretty much my whole day here!!! And I TRIED to leave, and couldn't!!!!!!! (it was the BIG Bobo/Lux day).
Pathetic, huh?

No, you're not alone. I probably would've had my novel totally finished ages ago if I didn't keep having to check to see what's going on here.

I have made quite a bit of progress lately though. I now have only 7,000 (down from 10,000) more words to go before I meet the minimum length requirement for the publisher I want to use. And I wouldn't have been able to get that far without the help of a couple of Ledgies so it all works out in the end.

Nope, you're not alone. I find myself on here when I should be working, doing things around the house, running errands, or just plain getting off the couch! I've become an internet junky altogether. A lot of my addiction is the message boards, but I've found myself becoming addicted to finding music downloads (now that I finally have an iPod), and addicted to LiveJournal, as well.

I've been addicted from the start. Since I found a job, I haven't had the time to post and read through like I was earlier without any real job to do. I'm on lunch right now, and you see where I'm sitting.... at my desk, eating Weight Watchers, reading The Ledge....

Maria- were we separated at birth? I'm doing the exact same thing you are. My WW is Three Cheese Ziti- not their best, but will do. Are you still not smoking? I'm at 8 weeks, 1 day, 20 seconds (heh).

I spend far too much time on The Ledge. Abnormal amounts of time. I literally have nothing to do in my current job, and I'm alone all day, so I am on The Ledge for probably 5 hours at a stretch. It's insane, I know.

I actually have to try deliberately to limit my internet time or I just stay on it without even realizing it! Like this morning whereby I should have a lot more work done by now but instead was chatting on IM. :sigh: Now I'm eating my Healthy Choice meal for lunch and chatting with you fine people.

Definitely a distraction. Combined with broadband always-on internet it's the worst thing that's happened to my concentration span, ever.

Even if I've just been on in the last two minutes, I still check ... what can I say, I'm addicted.

Oh it's a total distraction and definitely a complusion! I have a job where I work 8 hours a day but it requires only about 4 hours worth of work so I'm here or on other sites for most of that time. There are certain times when I could be finding things to do and working harder but I'd rather be here. It's good in a way because I would be totally bored if I didnt' have it but on the other hand I could be finding more things to keep me busy that are work related and make more $$.

a welcome distraction...never know what one might find here on the ledge
for instance...today ive fallen upon the food network channel :wavey:
i mostly enjoy the days/weeks following a show...where we can usually count on
reviews, photos and vid snippets from the shows...
im am hoping this still remains true for the australia shows :wavey:

HAHA!! How funny! My WW was chicken broccoli alfredo. Not bad at all. I have the Three Cheese Ziti in the freezer... I'll try it tomorrow. And, still not smoking. It will be 6 months on March 8! :woohoo: Although, I saw my mom's cigarettes out the other night, and I had to close them up, because just seeing them made me crave one! I didn't cave though. I save those moments for when I'm drunk! Congrats to you! 8 weeks is quite the accomplishment. I think that's the point where you can officially consider yourself an ex-smoker!
