Interesting. . . .
I remember saying back then, "Stevie looks zaftig," & everybody vehemently arguing with me & clamoring for my head on the block & screaming, "NO! She's thinner than ever!"
And now Stevie herself says this, which exactly supports what I *thought* I saw. I'm going to trust my own senses from now on.
Thanks for posting!

Isn't she even smaller than that? 5"1', I thought. At 175, that's one big woman. Definitely not healthy. Poor Stevie- she must have felt awful.

Ype, she's 5'1". I was just reading an old article that said suffered from her first big weight gain - she went up to 130 lbs - on the Tango tour when she had to take steroids. After that, it seems like it has always been a battle. When you're that small, even four or five pounds can force you up a size in clothes... not that she can't afford to have ten wardrobes made in all different sizes...

That article really showed me just how much health trouble Stevie has had in her life -- from one thing to another, you know? Just listing it off like that really puts it in perspective.
It's great to get a really nice, positive article! :woohoo:

And now Stevie herself says this, which exactly supports what I *thought* I saw. I'm going to trust my own senses from now on.I thought she looked fine in photos taken at the start of the 2003 tour (certainly not "thinner than ever," but not exactly "zaftig" either), but by the 2004 leg of the tour, she was definitely heavier than she's been in years. It was obvious, IMO. And it was also obvious that she was trying to cover it up, with the scarves wrapped tightly around her neck, and the long gloves covering most of her arms.
I had figured it was due to the steroids she was rumoured to be on because of the hip injury, but apparently that wasn't the case.
Thin or not, I'm just glad she's off of Atkins now, which is not a healthy way to eat. That's something else you've been saying for years, David, and no one agreed with you!

Thanks Brian, it's really a great interview. It's not easy for everyone, but especially for a celebrity, to talk so openly about these issues. I'm glad she doesn't feel such a contrast in herself now.

Certainly that is a bad siet. AND - the thing is protein is the way to way loss. But, you have to have all the other stuff too. I have lost like 50 pounds and if I ate no fat, my face would look awful because skin needs fat. So, you just eat not alot of it. Same for carbs. All this cut this or that out of your eating entirely is ridiculous and can only lead to a dead end.
BTW - I miss you :wavey:

Did you catch the youtube version of "Sara" off the SYW tour? The red cape she wore could cover every window of Buckingham Palace. I didnt get to see that tour because they canceled their Chicago appearance...so i had no idea how much weight she gained, but she looks absolutely wonderful now.
And from someone (me)who was on the Atkins diet for more than 3 years, it does kinda make you lose your mind. A bite of cake or a piece of chocolate will bother you for days. Good for Stevie for finding something else that is obviously working very well for her!

I belive he is referring to her natural birds. She's still got something there even though the implants have been removed and for women, especially when they gain weight, their breasts tend to get bigger as well.

But what's the hip injury?Apparently Stevie fell sometime before the start of the 2003 tour, injuring her hip. She then went to a chiropracter, but he messed her up worse than she was... hence her extremely limited movement during the early weeks of the tour (when she couldn't even bend forward to bow or shake hands, etc.).
I say "apparently," because now I can't remember if this was ever confirmed, and I'd hate to spread misinformation.

We already tried the conversion to metrics in the 70's and it was a big flop...it lasted about two years. Other than for international sports, like Olympics, scientific measurements, etc., it's just not used. I'll keep my pounds, feet, yards, and miles, thank you. At least we never used "stones" for weights. How much is a stone?

Interesting article. It's hard to believe a 5'1 woman carried that much weight without looking totally huge. To me, she only looked a little chunky in 2004, and this past summer, she looked terrific. She must really have some great corsets and other concealing garments.
Good for her for losing the weight. Her body will be much better off for it. :)
(On another note, she's made me afraid to turn 50 or hit menopause. Granted it's 20 years away, but I don't want my metabolism to slow down and have a bunch of pounds creep up on me! :( )
