What songs will stevie sing at the melbourne concert? Will we ever see the DVD/Cd? If this all does happen what songs do you hope make the cut? Will the DVD be cut down like the 1982 HBO special. Could we get lucky and get a new song for the release?
I just know and will be ticked if Stevie releases the concert without I Need to Know. Even though it's a Tom Petty song I prefer Stevie's version over the original and it's essential. So, the question is what Stevie Song can't you live without being in a live Stevie Show?

hmmmm i could live without dreams easy.. Umm i couldn't live without Edge of 17, yep that would be it for me. I could go without Rhiannon and gold dust, and could just handle going without Stand back, but certainly not Edge of 17, to me that is her rock song

I'd much rather see Rock and Roll make the DVD instead of I Need to Know.

Deary, you have had INTK for 24 years straight.

I can't go without Stand Back. Never never never.
My second answer would be Edge, my third Outside the Rain.
I think.

More importantly- will any of our Aussie friends here on the Ledge be taping it?? :wavey: Please, pretty please... Video is best of course, but audio will do too. :) So is it safe to say we can count on one or both, say sometime Sunday morning?

But I just would like to see it on an offical release for once. One gets tired of bootleg after bootleg. I also want Fall From Grace to be recorded live, that song deserves it and Rock and Roll would be awesome. I wish she'd done those 2 songs on the Two Voices part of the tour.

Hey Jamie, i dont have the equipment to tape it for everyone, and i was told that to get a decent AUDIO recording required $500 of equipment, so i did ask if any ledgies had any that they were willing to send over... but got no response so i cant tape it... :(

Most people sit for slower songs or ballads in general. She gave it her all on this tune night after night & I would love to see it on the DVD.
That being said, I would prefer the entire show. BUT if it is cut they must leave in Edge and B&tB.

The only thing I heard regarding these DVD's is that they are being taped by a fan...thats all I know as of now.

Would the venue really allow someone in the audience to film or tape this concert?

Who... me? that would be pretty nice... stage access... front FRONT row! Speaking of which i have a feeling that our front row for fmac is not going to be the same for gold dust tour... We were AT the stage for fmac, but if this is being taped there is going to be a distance between her and the crowd for crew taping... :(

I would think that if there is going to be an orchestra as planned for this show that there will be a space anyway because the orchestra usually sets up right below the stage... unles they set up behind her. But traditionally orchestras are just in front of the stage as far as I know.
Besides Janis- if it is set up this way, it's ok cause you are going to more that just this show, right?

True JK.... BUT still want the best too... i got used to being at the stage 1 metre from her... i dont take change very well
RE: the orchestra, i was wondering actually where they will be, i think she will have them to the side.. of yeah but then where will the band go! I just thought she would look fabulous with an orchestra behind her... And IF the orchestra ARE in front of her i hope they paid lots for their tickets too!

Nah, I reckon they'll be behind her, with the band in front of them, and then our girl front and centre.
That's how it was for any such videos I've seen -- Metallica, Elton John etc.

Right, for me, No circle dance, no freekin Gold dust woman (the dance was perfection, lets leave it, and move on), but Definately a new rocked out version of outeside the rain.:blob2: I never get enough of that live, and Rock and roll top hat feathers, tambo toss and all.

IMO, it's because she intros Circle Dance & when people hear it's a cover AND a tune they don't know, they take off to get beer or sit down. B&tB was right after an upbeat song, she didn't intro it at all, just went in back & came out in that cloak. Many fans recognize B&TB. and it's much more dramatic than CD.
I like to think that everyone in the crowd was so mesmerized the minute she opened her mouth to sing Beauty that they didn't even think to sit. Of course, it may just be that everyone's still standing at the stage after the Edge rush and nobody can see over them.

Very well put ... "The Edge Rush" ... I can't wait to experience it for myself. I envisage my part in it going something like this:
"Outta my -- hi Stevie! Wooo! Outta my way, short stuff, *BIFF!* Yay! Stevie!!!"

Some Edge pointers for ya:
1. HOLD YOUR SPOT once you get it! You wouldn't believe what people try to do to get in front of you.
2. Stand with one leg in front of the other. I've experienced being able to get and stay close to the stage that way. Plus it feels a little sturdier in case people start pushing.
3. Waddy's long intro will seem XTRA long while you're up there waiting. Just hang in there and stand firm! :)
4. Good luck and have fun!! :woohoo:

At least, in the past, musical acts that have recorded with a symphony in Australia (ie-Kiss with "Kiss Alive 4") have released those shows on both the audio & DVD medium...So things could look up for all in regards to this show.

Not surprising that Kiss released a symphony cd/dvd. Isn't it like a running joke that Jean Simmons does anything for $$? I heard there's even a Kiss coffin you can order!

makes even ol' Moneybag Mick Fleetwood look sophomoric in regards to newest money making ventures...
Yes, there is a Kiss Koffin...Dimebag Darrell was buried in one (Surprisingly, Scheme Gene didnt charge his family for it.)

EDIT: By the way, I plan to be at the front of the stage more or less from the start of Outside the Rain. Get my spot early, you know?

The official taping of this concert .... any ideas or guesses as to when it'll actually be released on DVD?
Please don't say it's likely to be a Soundstage-type scenario....

I honestly don't have the slightest, but if she does tour again this summer (with or without Henley) they'd be wise to have it out by then so they can try to sell copies at shows.
