apparently, Madonna has confirmed she will tour this summer. I've never seen Madonna and would really love to. I have seen the DVD's of her concerts but I'd really like to experience it firsthand. Hopefully, there is truth to the rumor.
by the way, Madonna has one of the best official websites I've ever seen. it is so cool and totally geared to what most fans would want an official website to be.

If she tours, I'm there. Like you, I never saw her live either. It's one of the things in life I need to accomplish. :D

I saw the Blonde Ambition tour and also the one that started with "Open Your Heart" (True Blue Tour?)
She puts on a show like no other, but I think she lip-syncs a lot of it.

Yeah, she will be touring... There have been a few things going around to confirm this. She's signed on with the same promoter as the last tour.. When it starts is anyones guess - probably summer when the kids aren't in school... It would be cool to see one of her shows...

I saw her in Houston on her second tour (Like A Virgin??) and it has been an amazing ride since then to watch her. I am a huge fan.
My new BF and I are going to see her this summer, hopefully, in Chicago! :blob1: :blob1:

I would love to see her perform live but she seems to have an aversion to Canada. She only came to Toronto for her last year and it was like $250 per ticket. That's just rude.:distress:

Yup. :distress: And I didn't go. I have already decided that if she comes back to Toronto this summer, I am SO going. Confessions is her best album in years, in my opinion. I would love to see it performed live. I will pay up to $250 I think.

She was fantastic. Saw her last year at Madison Sq Garden and in East Rutherford. Much better at the Garden for some reason. And hot as hell b/c she does not allow the AC to be turned on.

Cold air f**ks with your voice.Oh ok. I wouldve thought with all the people in the arena the body heat wouldve counteracted that, but I could be wrong.

Okay, just saw this on a music website. If Madonna can play intimate shows, then so can Stevie.
-------------------------
Getting close to Madonna
Fans wanting to get as close as physically possible to Madonna may get their chance this summer. MTV is reporting that Madge is booking small, intimate venues for her summer 2006 tour, with the majority of the set list focusing on tracks from her recent mega-hit, "Confessions on a Dance Floor."

That's cool. I saw Stevie at House of Blues (a very small venue) during the Millenium shows and it was fantastic!
I saw Madonna during her Blonde Ambition tour. She's worth seeing, but $250?? That's a lot, and it IS downright rude as mentioned above.

I bet the tickets will be outrageous to make up for the lack of seats. If she does this, I don't know if I'll go. She's not one I really care to see in an intimate setting.

Me too, yes it was, me too, yes she is, you're right it's too much money, and I don't know if it's rude, but it's an obscene amount of money.
I think that responds to everything!

Yeah, don't care about that either. She's perfect for an arena-sized show.

My ticket cost $175, but for a measly $1,325 more, I couldve seen Barbara Streisand across the street at the MGM. I think I got the better deal there.

and don't you think her show and the songs would work better in an arena? I mean, I get the whole "dancefloor" vibe she's going for but I don't think it's gonna translate. And can you imagine the security issues? eek.

Exactly, not to mention that she lip syncs a lot of her songs so it will be pretty apparent in an intimate setting. I think people expect a big "show" from Madonna and you're right, it won't translate very well.
Edit: Stevie, on the other hand, is perfect for an intimate setting.

I heard that this morning. It's very unusual - that combo. I think this will be her "out of town tryouts".

After seeing her Grammy performance it kind of makes sense - she's putting herself alongside the "electronica" bunch!
I don't think it will be a "tryout" as much as a diversion - she'll be reaching a completely different group.

but isn't this festival more for indie music? it doesn't seem like an electronica/dance show from Madonna would really fit in with a crowd that's not interested in necessarily commercial music.
I'm not totally familiar with the festival, so I could be wrong.
I can just see them throwing soggy veggies at her.

Hmmmmm - Depeche Mode, James Blunt, Franz Ferdinand, Tool.......
Not so Indie!!!!!!
She's in the dance tent - I guess I'm one of the odd ones that would
enjoy that wide spectrum of music!!
