What the hell are you talking about? They did one new song, which is more than Paul McCartney can say!

I thought it was okay. My biggest gripe was the mix. Not enough GEETAR! And, for that matter, not enough close-ups of Ron or Keith! And, how they bleeped out "You, you, you, you make a dead man..." Is nothing sacred? But, really, does anybody expect a full blown Stones experience during a half-time show?

I liked the halftime show. I liked the stage and I'm sure everyone there pretty much enjoyed it. Mick looks pretty good for an old man. His arms are buff but even still, he's got bat wings. And he did sound a bit winded on the first song. I liked Rough Justice. Also whoever said there wasn't enough guitar in the mix, I agree.

The sound was terrible. Other than that, I thought they were okay. I enjoy seeing Mick Jagger dance around like a crazed, geriatric rock & roller, so maybe I'm biased. They're the STONES. They're awesome no matter what.

Side note, holy ****ing ****, the Steelers won. I don't even care, but I'm elated right now. <333

Hey, the Super Bowl in 2 years is in Phoenix. Let's start a petition to have Stevie perform. The NFL people would be dumb to not include her in some fashion.

if the NFL would ever ask Stevie to play the Super Bowl, The NFL tends to want artists who have a larger "worldwide" mass appeal which would better suit Fleetwood Mac moreso than Stevie.

Do I think we will ever see Fleetwood Mac play halftime of the Super Bowl? No...'No chance in hell' is my opinion. But they (Fleetwood Mac) did play a pre-Super Bowl game performance a few years back with the BTM lineup (Minus Stevie if my memory serves me right...I have that performance on DVD).

Back to the Stones, At least they did not commit musical suicide ala "Aero-Supply" (Formerly Aerosmith) by allowing 'crap entertainers' such as N'Suck & Britney Speared to sing a classic song (Walk this Way"...Forever known as "Walk this Way...To sellingout!") that permanently killed their careers in the eyes of many a faithful longtime fans like they did a few years back during a halftime performance.

Here's a pic from Superbowl 27 from Rick Vito's website. Also featured is (the great) Albert Lee and Gary Busey. Hmmm, I seem to recall Busey playing Buddy Holly once. Well, it's not the first time there was a Buddy Holly imposter playing with Fleetwood Mac.

Sorry have to disagree with you on those points!! Ford Field "does " have a roof..It was a very warm 68degrees in there yesterday..although felt more like 168 degrees to me...(aghh it was to Hot) and the venue does have a great sound system..which hosts many top performing artists..Not sure what happened yesterday with the sound though ,.It was bad..but I really think it has more to do with the broadcasting stations.Did anyone see when they had the Stones play for I think it was the grammy's last year or some awards show can;t remember which one..but same thing the sound sucked big time.
I do know that the crew working with the Stones are top notch..in fact some of the same guys finished working with FM on their last tour and then Stevie on her summer tour with Don and went straight over to working with the Stones..
But hey I agree with everything else..I can only hope I can move around like Mick does at that age. and they really did put on a great great show this summer ..

I'm kind of against the idea of having Stevie as a half time performer because its the super bowl. Its football. Nothing would kill the mood more than a 60 year old woman twirling around a stage in chiffon singing songs about the moon.

Fleetwood Mac I could see doing it, and I guess if they did a tour next year they'd be an option, but I really think it will be The Who, since they'll be on tour this summer and probably into next year.

I thought it was great, for a half time show. I mean you have to remember this was a half time show. The sound is always bad during these half time show performances, always.

Of course, they did "Start Me Up" and "Satisifaction." This is what is expected by the general population. If they hadn't done those songs, people would have been bitching about that. People would be saying..... "I can't believe they did all these new songs! Where is "Satisifaction?" I thought that it was great that they did "Rough Justice," which is a really good, new song, and it mixed their old classics with their new hit.

About their ages, I'm sorry but I don't see how you can't be impressed with men or women that are their ages still doing a show like that.

All in all, I was pleased.

I thought The Stones friggin' rocked Half Time! I do agree that the sound could have been better, but I thought the set was very cool. You also need to remember that it is a stressful show to do...every little detail has to be pulled off just so. If you noticed, there were digital counters all over the stage counting down the exact amount of time they had remaining to finish. It is clearly not really a performance where you can let loose! But they still did a great job of not looking too stiff. THE BEST PART IS THAT THEY HAD THE BALLS TO DO A NEW SONG (which rocks, btw) AT THE BLOODY SUPER BOWL!!! I'm sorry if people were bored otherwise, but I think Start Me Up was an obvious (in a good way) choice for a sporting event and that Satisfaction is appropriate since it is obviously a gig where they are aiming to please the general population. Yeah, Mick couldn't sing a couple of lyrics, but I'm sure he was told repeatedly that no "big lips malfunctions" would be allowed after last year with Justin and Janet.

I think last year's half time show with Paul Mccartney was the best half time show ever. I feel he did a MUCH better job then the Stones. I had high expectations for the, but seriously their song choices were worse then the Mac's could've been. I KNEW they'd do Start Me Up and Rough Justice, and I wish they wouldn't have. Gimme Shelter and Heartbreaker would've been so much more adventurous.

Honestly, how could they not have done "Start Me Up," their only #1 single, or "Satisfaction," a song consistently ranked "greatest rock song of all time" during a Super Bowl Halftime Show? It's the Super Bowl Halftime Show, not Austin City Limits for crying out loud.

Mick Jager was born July 26, 1943. Stevie Nicks was born May 26, 1948. By my math, Mick Jagger is only four years and ten months older than Stevie (and two weeks YOUNGER than Christine McVie).
