I have both MySpace and LiveJournal accounts. Here's my impression, from using both.

LiveJournal is more of a blog. While MySpace also has a blog component, it seems to be more of a Web page than a blog, and seems to that it's commonly used more for meeting people? I definitely get somewhat of a "meat market" vibe from it. Also, there is a music section on MySpace, with MySpace pages for bands where you can listen to their music and add their songs to your page. I think many people join for that reason, to subscribe to the pages of their favorite bands.

After using both for a few months now, I prefer LiveJournal and keep up with it more. I use MySpace more as a Web page to post about my son, so family can keep up with him, since we're living long distance from our family now. MySpace has a "photo album" component, so it's easy for me to post pictures of him there. (LiveJournal also has a photo album feature, but you have to be a paid subscriber to use it. I have a free account there, which blocks some features that come with a paid account.) I add the occasional blog entry on MySpace, but not very often. I use LiveJournal more as an actual blog.

I think you copied the wrong. You probably copied a link while you were in your account, and viewing your profile... not the link to your actual page. It should be in the format: http://www.myspace.com/username. In my profile, there's a box that says "My Space URL", and has my URL. I'm assuming your's probably does as well.

But seriously, I'm glad it works for you. To be stupidly honest, I have a myspace. The only reason was so that I could post comments on a very good friends site. Since I usually do all her photographs (hehe...really fun), I like to post some smart ass comments.

Technically speaking though, it is really slow and clunky and not all together a pleasant visit. And I despise the myspace freaks who have every color of the rainbow, disgustingly cute animations and really bad music and video tracks on their page. The code is so bad is crashes my browsers!

I love making easy photo banners. I see that some people have moving GIFs and I want to make one from one of the video clips that I took. I only have Photoshop Elements 2.0. Does anyone know how to do this? I tried to upload the clip to Photobuckets video area but it was not a GIF just a video player type thing.
Also I want to capture video clips from a DVD. What kind of inexpensive :laugh: program would I need to be able to do that? I have a PC not a MAC.

I did it!! :blob2: I made my own one minute video clip of Lindsey's Slow Dancing video! It took me about 10 tries. The video part did not come out that great with the horizontal lines but it will do. It only took about 45 minutes for me to upload it to YouTube! :laugh:

All you need do is copy the code and then paste it in somewhere in the edit profile section. I stuck mine in the music section.

What about songs? Anyone know how to get your own songs? I mean, not your own songs (you know all those awesome songs I write :rolleyes: ) but songs that aren't in their database of songs or whatever. It's probably easy. I just don't know how.
Plus, I think it's so annoying when I go to someone's space, and the song just starts playing, then I have to turn it off. I'd like to annoy others in the same way.
It's not annoying when someone has a Stevie song, though. :woohoo:

You can go to your settings and turn off people's songs. That way you wouldn't hear anyone's.

As for just SONGS from other places...I only know how to get videos ( more places than youtube...which takes too long to load most of the time.

I used to keep four or five of my own songs up on my MySpace page, but a few people told me it was annoying, so I cut back that number to one or two.

Ordinarily, I'm not a fan of music & other noises embedded in a page. Let the page visitor decide whether he wants to hear something.
