An ex-Army Ranger told the National Enquirer about his alleged motel romp with Clay Aiken (pictured).

Former Army Ranger John Paulus swore he wasn't going to sell out singer Clay Aiken when we contacted him last week about rumors that he'd had sex with the supposedly straight "American Idol" star.
"They couldn't pay me enough to have my pics on the supermarket stand," he told us at the time. "I am not the type of guy that would make life difficult for anyone."

But that was then.

Turn to page 10 of the new National Enquirer, and there's shirtless John Paulus, talking about his alleged hotel "romp" with the 27-year-old Aiken.

"On Dec. 16, using the screen name of 'valleyprettyboy,' Clay sent me his first instant message," Paulus claims.

He contends that, after a month's correspondence, Clay admitted he wanted a "discreet bf."

After arranging a meeting at a Quality Inn in Garner, N.C., Paulus says, "Clay told me his ex-lover was selfish and mean. And within five minutes he started to feel my arms and put his hands on my leg.

"We started to mess around and Clay said he wanted to have sex with me. Before I knew it, we were having unprotected sex.

"He kept telling me, 'We're going to do this many more times.'"

Enquirer editors say Paulus has passed a lie-detector test. He's also said to have saved his instant-message exchanges with Aiken, as well as a DNA-encrusted washrag. Not that he was planning to sell his tale, or anything.

Aiken has repeatedly denied he is gay. His rep declined comment.

Meanwhile, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, who has talked about Simon Cowell's "man boobs," is continuing his teasing.

"This season we had to stop auditions because one of his fake teeth came out, and he had to call in a dentist with drills to the back of the hotel, and they had to put in a new tooth," Seacrest tells Entertainment Weekly. "He'll actually be p-- that I told you this, but you've got to print it."

It does kind of gall me that he is trying to present such a squeaky clean image and then is clandestinely having unprotected sex ..tacky tacky tacky.Better that he just would have come out and have been a more positive role model.Oh well. I can't abide by the sight or sound of him anyway so hopefully he'll soon languish in obscurity.

I can't stand the little ****, but I've never understood the argument that just because a celebrity is gay, they should out themselves and take on the responsibility of being a "role model." It's their business whether or not they want to make their sexuality known to everyone.

I'm not totally all for celebs outting themselves .I adore Jodie Foster and though she is mum on the topic she has handled her personal life with class and dignity and considering what happened to her back at Yale who could blame her for wanting to be private?Clay on the other hand chose a romp of unsafe sex with someone he met online. Most likely he's done it more than once.So for him to try and project this wholesome image and behave that way is more than a bit tacky IMO. So basically what I was saying is better to have come out than to have his T spilled in such a tacky ,scandalous circumstance.

I agree. If Clay doesn't want people to know, why should he be forced to tell people? And why is it even an issue? I can't stand it when people are introduced as "my gay friend". why do people have to be labeled like that? can't they just be "my friend"? I think sexuality is private... Someone mentioned Jodi Foster. She doesn't make an issue out of her sexuality and has requested that her personal life be made private in interviews, etc. But it's pretty easy to read between the lines. The way she handles herself is very classy. I've often wondered how she has kept rumours and gossip at bay?

Apparently his camp has been denying that Clay is gay. They should have just kept their traps shut on the topic. It makes it even more tacky now that he is being outted by an online sexual contact with a wash cloth and DNA et, al.As for Jodie she neither confirms nor deinies anything and she is private across the boards.I also think the media leaves her alone maybe having an actual shred of empathy for what she went through with the Hinckley incident.

True. And I don't know anyone who doesn't like Joddi Foster. So, maybe the fact that she is so well liked helps her keep her life private. That, and she doesn't really seem stereotypically gay. Unlike Aiken...

Well there is no question that Ms. Foster, a star and an award winning actress for 30 years on now, is much more highly regarded than a runner up on a silly reality show whose 15 minutes of fame should have long since expired.

"Meanwhile, the newfound publicity for the reportedly press-shy Paulus has not come without its pitfalls. A friend of Paulus tells the New York Post that since the Army Ranger's name was leaked onto the Internet, Paulus is "getting death threats from Clay's fans," but he has "also gotten calls from gay porn directors who want to cast him in a movie, kind of what happened after John Wayne Bobbitt got famous."

That pic is hilarious, but you're right, I don't think they're his hands either.
I feel kind of sorry for the guy. No one would ever want to be outed in such a fashion - although this really is a shock to no one.

This might require massive and frequent injections of testosterone.
