It's Waddy's weekly gig at The Joint - I've just never seen it so hyped before.

I'm assuming that means it is their last show before they go to Australia so they are trying to hype it. Are you thinking maybe they are saying Stevie will make an appearance? I highly doubt that but I would be really upset if she did and I did not go. I'm going to call over there and investigate.

I dunno about Stevie, but maybe other members of the band? I'm sure they're all gathered in LA by now, rehearsing or preparing for the trip down under soon. When the Stones played LA, they were talking about the possibility of Keith showing up - is there anyone big like that playing in LA tonight?

So you don't think Stevie will go? One can dream right...I stroll into The Joint and Stevie is there alone in the corner sipping Brandy. I sit down next to her and we spend the entire evening chatting, bonding, and rocking out together . Oh and then she invites me back to her place :p.
No other big shows in LA tonight that I know of.

How long has this place been around? I don't know of it. I looked it up it's at Pico & Robertson. That stretch of Pico is a rather odd location for a rock bar. Furniture stores and dellis.

I just got the scoop from the owner of The Joint - I called and asked if there would be any special guests tonight and he said not that he knows of and I said oh because I heard there might be and he said who Chris Isaac and I said no Stevie Nicks and he said not that I have heard but I've been trying to get her down here.
Now here's the best part!! She went to The Joint (this little bar right down the street from my house with a really small stage) to see Waddy play last year right before the Two Voices Tour and sat at the bar with Karen and drank margaritas and braided the owner's hair and was in the best of spirits. He asked her to come back and play with the band after The Gold Dust tour and she said "honey, I'm not getting up on that stage unless you build some stairs" so he did. She totally loved the place! She obviously hasn't come back to play but he told me to keep calling after they get back from the next leg of the tour! How cool is that . I can't believe she was there last year and I missed her sitting at the bar hanging out! What a great story none the less.

That is a great story. So...are you trying to imply there is a remote chance Stevie may actually show up tonight?
Tell me about this place, Sapphire. Just how small is it? How many can it accommodate? Is it a restaurant too or just a bar? What kind of music...only rock?

No, according to the owner she is not suppose to show up but she may perform there after she is done touring. She was already there to see Waddy play last year so we missed our chance.

I love how you call me Sapphire ;). I don't know too much about it. I've only been there a few times and not recently. It's pretty small and they usually have rock bands. It's a couple doors down from Starbucks near the corner of Pico and Robertson. I saw Waddy play and met him there a couple of years ago. Supposedly they have re-done the place since then but I haven't seen it.

Cool! Have you ever been? It's madness, fun, I love it! I went all out and bought a badge for this year. I'm taking off work that Wed-Fri. I JUST broke out the hi-liter today and started making preliminary picks. Morrissey just got added. I'll be posting a thread on chit chat soon, when they make the finalized list easier to read, and not the one, huge paragraph it is right now. We'll stay in touch, I'd love to meet up with you while you're here! I live on the southwest side of town, about 15 min. from downtown and all the action.

I've never been, it's my first time. I'm going for work so it's all expenses paid . I am so excited! We'll definitely have to exchange information closer to the time and meet up. That would be so fun :) I actually spent 7 years in TX as a child (Dallas) but I've only driven through Austin.

Stevie's so funny. "I don't drink anymore...maybe a glass of wine." Oh puhlease.
Great story though and she has been known to check out clubs here in LA now and then.

Well, I'll cut her some slack here. Considering the addictions she has gone through...and ended...she can drink all she wants.

So are any of you L. A. area Ledgies going to check it out? If I lived in that area I would try to go if I did not have to work or something. Just because the owner says that Stevie is not a guest doesn't mean that might never show up. It sounds like it would be a good show either way.
Now if Lindsey ever showed up...

Taku's website says Stevie and her band will be rehearsing for The Gold Dust tour in Melbourne, Australia Feb 7-Feb 17.
Brett Tuggle is a good friend of mine. FYI he is the lead singer of Waddy's band at The Joint. They play cover tunes from the 60's, 70's and 80's. He told me he is really enjoying their regular Monday night gig there. You LA Ledgies should definately check it out sometime. The band will be on hiatus during the Gold Dust tour but I think "Big Mondays" will resume again in the spring when the guys return from Australia and New Zealand.

That's awesome news! I'm definitely going when they start again after Aus and NZ. Work has just been so crazy lately but it will slow down in the next couple of months. I would love if some other ledgies to join me. I'll keep you updated on when the guys return and do Big Mondays again.
Well.....Did anyone catch the show at that LA club last night?

I know Mike Campbell also has a band and a regular gig doing classic rock covers, etc when the Heartbreakers are on a break. I forget the name of his band, though.
