I just ate at this steakhouse the other day here in Minneapolis called Manny's and I had this exquisite Filet Mingnon. It wasnt cheap, but damn was it good. SO I just thought I'd ask you all, what's the best meal in a Resturant you've had. Price doesnt matter.

Well, jeez, that's like asking Stevie Nicks which of her songs are her favorite.

Not so much favorite "meals", but favorite restaurants:

Todai All-you-can-eat sushi buffet...do I need to say more?

Tom's (a "gourmet fast food" place in Anaheim; 2 locations...great burgers, cold & hot sandwiches, Mexican food, Greek food & salad bar)

Original Tommy's (need a double (or even TRIPLE) chili-cheeseburger to soak up the alcohol when the bar closes? This is the place to go! A lot of locations in SoCal...the original location is on Beverly Blvd & Rampart Ave in Downtown LA)

Claim Jumper Steaks, ribs, chicken, burgers & salad bar: all in massive portions. And baked potatoes the size of hoagies.

Uzushio...my favorite "sit down" sushi bar. not cheap though.

Panda Express...yeah, it is "fast-food" Chinese, but still, really good.

Surprisingly, the best meal I ever had was at an Italian restaurant in the outskirts of Anchorage, AK. The most exquisite dinner.

Runners-up:

Dim Sum at Ton Kiang in San Francisco.

Xmas Dinner at Auberge du Soleil in Napa.

Every meal I've ever eaten under the influence of a specific illegal drug.

ETA: Just yesterday, it was chorizo & eggs, with rice, beans, & tortillas at a Mexican dive. Heavenly.

Delmonico's. Emeril's place in the Venetian in Vegas. January of 2002. So amazingly good. We had steak. And a bottle of wine. Which is why I can't recall which cut of steak it was. But it was f*cking fantastic.

Every dinner has been really good. I love food...but to answer your question...

Having dinner on the island of Santorini, outside, on a ledge looking over the ocean thousands of feet below and having the sun set all at the same time.

Almost every meal I ever ate in Portugal...in Lisbon, Torres Vedras, Sintra, Estoril...my family home. All super yummy and memorable. Especially a restaurant called "Adega do Miguel." Amazing.

In San Francisco, I had amazing dinners at a restaurant called the Zodiac Club. That's where many of the head 5-Star Chef's of the city ate their dinners. Really fun and once when I was there with friends, some guy in the bar area won a lot of money on the stock market and bought a round of whatever anyone was drinking in the entire restaurant. That was a great night.

In Los Angeles...I actually really love the French restaurant La Boheme. Ambiance (very romantic with a huge fireplace), mouth watering food...it has everything...and even some opera thrown in for good measure.

Most definitely - I wonder if we were at the same restaurant as there are many.

I have had too many dinners to pick just one. But, Commander's Palace in NOLA is always amongst the best I have ever had.

Given that the horizon line is slightly crooked I would say that is a real photo. Maybe the colors have been saturated but otherwise not much has been detectably done to this picture.

Ooh, that was so good.

Um, other than that... an Indian restaurant called Ghandi's in New York. The place was not that fancy, but the food was amazing. Great, intense flavors.

The Paris Buffet in Vegas was definitely the best breakfast I've had out.

A tiny restaurant here called the 29th Street Cafe. Had lemon pesto chicken there once and it was fantastic. And the plate presentation was so nice I didn't want to eat it. Unfortunately it must have been a fluke, because I've gone back 3 times and everything else I've had there (including the same dish again) has sucked. I mean, really bad. Meh.

A beachside seafood restaurant in Redondo I can't remember the name of for the life of me :/. Best red snapper I've ever had, though.

And a mediterranean (?) food place GarboSpeaks! took me to when I was visiting, called Tarboosh in Redwood City. If I lived there, I think I'd go every day.

Chorizo!

Mexican dives are the best. If you go to a foofy restaurant for Mexican food it never tastes authentic. It's like Taco Bell dressed up in a pretty napkin and a $40 bill. The best Mexican food restaurants are always those tiny hole in the wall places where you get a plate big enough to go swimming in for 8 bucks!

by the way, I can't believe I forgot the name of the restaurant...Spago

This may sound corny but actually the best dinner I had was the first time I ate the Crispy Orange Chicket Skillet at Applebees:lol: Now it is called the Orange Crispy Chicken Bowl. It tasted much better when they brought it on the sizzling skillet plate so I always ask them to put mine on a plate:thumbsup: I am not much for adventurous food and my hubby was shocked I even tried this:lol: The flavors are just yummy and I am sure it has tons of calories too;)

Honestly, the best dinner I've ever eaten out was at Joe's in Chicago. It was succulent! OMG - I've still never had such a good steak. It was also the most expensive dinner I've ever had.
Then, there was this seafood place in San Francisco we went to on Pier 39. Don't remember the name of it, but it was really good. They had great Lemondrop Martini's, also. It was here I tried calamari for the first time and fell in love with it. mmm-mmm-good!

I tend to have expensive tastes when it comes to food and wine. Don't get me wrong, I love my pizza and nachos but one of the best meals I've ever had was when the fam decided to dine out for Thanksgiving.

We went out to an amazing restaurant in the mountains and started off with sauteed bay scallops and caribou carpaccio. Raw meat - I live for it. It was followed by Arctic Char with butter lobster tail..Jesus Christ. Finally was dessert - a chocloate soup with berries, a caramel nest and an edible maple spoon. All washed back with Pouilly Fuisse. Pure heaven - and heart failure.

Not for awhile. They had to replace their entire fridge system because of the spoiled food. Also, like everyone else, there is not enough labor to support their needs. But, a few other Brennan Restaurants are open in NOLA and I love that.

I've been fortunate enough to have some excellent dining experiences. My first was in NJ in a place called Good Fellas (I think it was really called this!) It was an authentic Italian restaurant. We had a meal that was about 7 courses and it was so amazing. We started with buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, with olive oil and garlic. Then we had our soup, then pasta, then entre, then dessert, then espresso. I think there was more too! The food just kept coming and we dined leisurely for about 3 hours. The service was impeccable, we were not rushed in the least.

I once went to L'Espalier here in Boston, the food and service were phenomenal. The staff was nearly psychic in taking care of your every need. That was way beyond my budget but I had a gift certificate that was a bonus from work. It was for $100 but the meal was $250! I had no idea it would be so much but it was excellent.

Another great meal I had was on the south shore of MA at Tosca. It is a 5* restaurant as well and you just would never expect it there. Perhaps in NYC or LA, and now even Boston, but not Hingham! The presentation of the food there is gorgeous. The dessert was really excellent and GIGANTIC!

I'm a foodie so I could go on and on and on and on...

I don't have fancy taste when it comes to food.

To be honest I like Grilled Chicken with Cheddar Cheese and BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes and butternut squash at restaurant called Gregg's. It is a chain here in Rhode Island. Of course it is followed by a chocolate éclair. ;)

There is a place called Luigi’s in Johnston that I like. My favorite there is the Chicken Parm.

There a VFW Post located in Cranston that is supposed to have great Italian food. I have never been there but I am going to make it my mission to check it out soon. I will have to post in this thread if I do get to go.

Ohh I love going out and trying new places..I think my favorite would be the Wickaninsih Inn in Tofino on Vancouver Island..the food was super pumpkin crab soup to start..followed by beautiful stuffed salmon..but what really made it all wonderful was the fact it was a winter get away for my husband and I when we first started dating..
