i'VE COLLECTED THESE OVER THE YEARS FROM FRIENDS. PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST!! THESE ARE HILARIOUS!!! IF ONLY STEVIE COULD READ THESE...MAYBE SHE IS
*You've ever pretended to be in the Stand Back video while walking on a treadmill.
*You know that Rhiannon is not Brianna...or Briannon............................
*You know who Sulamith Wulfing is...................
*YOU KNOW May 26th should be a National Holiday.............................
*Even at 40 years old( 39 1/2) you still use the hairbrush as a mike, when Stevie is playing!!
*If you envision yourself on a cliff during dance class like the gypsy video
*You know you're a serious Stevie fan if you twirl around in the pouring rain and snow as Stevie danced around in Gypsy.
*If a tambourine is the first musical instrument that comes to your mind in a trivia contest.
*If your dream in life is to meet Stevie and get her autograph in person and talk with her.
*If your children are named rhiannon and your dog, cat, fish and/or hamster are named sara or gypsy.
*if you sport a license plate that says Stvnixfan or some other incarnation
*If you follow Stevie around on tour and attend every show you can get your hands on the way the Deadheads followed Garcia around
*If you buy the new Stevie LP the day it hits the stores and count the minutes until the record store opens til you can get it..
*If you buy every photo, bootleg recording and everything you can find with her image on it.
*If you model your own clothing style after hers, even down to those difficult to maneuver platform boots.
*You go to every Hard Rock Cafe you can find and ask where the Stevie display is and take photos.
*You would give your eye teeth for a signed stevie tambourine and would gladly display it proudly in your home or office and show it to all your friends.
*Getting the album the day it comes out.
You *do* have your shrine posted on the nicksfix and you did say you buy your stevie lps the day they hit so you fit the fan parameter.
*You're a guy. you would look awfully funny in platform boots and a fairy skirt. Though it would be funny seeing you dancing in the rain. That's actually fun!~~

* You remember the words to Stevie's songs better than she herself does.
* You became a fan in 1997 and have completely exhausted everything that was officially released with Stevie.
* You or a friend has a problem, and you always return to a Stevie lyric to help solve that problem.
* If you can arbitrarily quote her lyrics on a daily basis when engaged in ANY conversation.
*If you've debated the meaning of her lyrics for hours at a time.
* You know you're a Stevie fan when you frame the rose from her mic stand.;)

You KNOW you're a Stevie fan if . . . .
*You have some PRETTY STRONG suspicions about what Stevie said to Lindsey in "Soundstage" on PBS after singing "Frozen Love" (and know what that means. . . . and know that what I just said has a double-meaning. )
*You ALSO plan on putting the speaker real close to your ear to figure out if Stevie whispered to Mick what you THINK she said to him, after stopping by the house the first time in "Destiny Rules."
*Speaking of which, you've discovered that the main lyrics to Destiny Rules are somehow burned into your memory without ever even making an effort to memorize them...
*You know what "The Rhiannon Painting" is and often wonder who the f. has it...
*You can explain in gory detail EXACTLY why Joni Mitchell should receive an honorary Nobel Prize.
*You can also explain in gory detail how it's possible that a drunk who lived in a trailer in the hills might just be the very smartest person who ever lived....
*You're actively hoping that Compton Terrace will be re-opened someday.
*You think those guitars she painted for charity are precious works of art.
*When you heard Christine McVie, in the "Rumours" Documentary, saying that Stevie's lyrics "are, at best, obscure" and didn't make any sense to her, you can honestly say that your jaw dropped and you instantly thought, "What the F. is she TALKING about" and you felt disappointed in her, and just plain sorry for her.
*If someone said something about "Sulamith and Sara being in the same room while they're recording," it would make perfect sense to you and you'd smile and maybe even start cracking up....
*You know the original address for nicksfix, and that it still works....
*Whether you're a Madonna fan or not, you realize that Madonna's just an amateur...
-You watch the 'I Can't Wait' video and snap your fingers at "know we've been [snap snap] out of touch" part!
-The 'Gypsy' video makes you cry. You think it's the best video ever made and smile every time the sky is the colour of the 'enchanted forrest' pink-blue-purple sky ("Look, it's a 'Gypsy' sky!")
-Your secret fantasy is to join either FM or Stevie's backup band and tour with them
-You spend an obscene amount of time on message boards about Stevie Nicks
-You don't go more than a day or two without listening to Sara (or your favourite song of choice)
-On your 17th birthday you listened to EO17 over and over again
All of these things are true...

* When you "rediscover" a Stevie song you thought you didn't care for, you listen to it 832 times until you know every word and note perfectly.
* You have tickets from the concerts you've attended on display
* You are personally offended when someone does not know who Stevie Nicks is, or that she is a female.

You go to the Stevie section EVERYTIME you go into a record store (Even though you have everything) to straighten her section up, and are offended when it isn't stocked well with everything she ever issued. (Even More pissed off if she doesn't have her own section) :p

You know you're a Stevie fan if - - -
*When you hear her explaining what "Edge of Seventeen" is about, you smile to yourself and hope that you can shake her hand some day; and you find that inside, you're laughing along with her. (And you know the actual lyrics, in full... ;) )
*Also, the phrase, "The ocean is your blanket" makes perfectly clear sense to you, and you think Stevie was being VERY logical when she wrote it!. . . .

I second this! I only heard about them first a year and a bit ago, and I only absolutely fell in love with them a little less than a year ago! I'm doing my best, but some of this is a bit confusing!

I think this has to be the defining one! And, when you look up Stevie under "S" instead of "N", thinking that everyone knows everyone calls her "Stevie", you burst into tears and start screaming at everyone near you, and then realise that you should be in "N" and run off to it, still screaming. I do that the whole time. I am not good at record stores! :o

1. ~*~You type lyke this~*~!
2. You enjoy the latter-day recordings where phlegm & snot can be heard rattling about.
3. You willingly pony up the cash to see a Stevie show even though you know it's going to be an exact replica of the previous show you attended...ten years ago.
4. You consider dire mediocrity to be "brilliant."
5. You can distinguish between Stevie and Harvey Fierstein these days, even when others can't.
Someone should start one for Lindsey. I'll have some great fun with him.

- You have so many pictures and posters of Stevie hung up that you forgot what color your walls are.
- When clothes shopping, it's a plus if the outfit you're buying looks like something Stevie would wear.
- You made your own Stevie toys (i.e. a Stevie Barbie doll and Stevie paper dolls).
- Not only did you buy forehead art but you actually have worn it.
- You've converted others into Stevie fandom.
- You've twirled while at work or in a public place.
- Complete strangers become dear friends when you spot them in a Stevie T-shirt.
- People refer to you as "you know, the one who loves Stevie Nicks" when they don't remember your name.
- You would rather be forced into bankruptcy than to pass up a concert
- You know all of the little ad libs in every version of every song (including demos)
- You try to convince people that, they too, should be thankful that Stevie exists on the same planet as they do.
- You feel a slight twinge of jealousy when you see stevie and sheryl crow together because you know if stevie ever met you, you would become her new best friend and would ask you to join the tour.
- Not only did you save the ticket stubs tour but also the validated parking stub from the lot you parked in.

When your room is so thick with smoke from all the Nag Champa incense that you can't find the door.
When you hear someone mention 9/11 you think of Stevie's journal and how she was moved by the tragedy, rather than of the events of the day themselves.
Ditto the 1991 Gulf War.
You think you can find meaning in the lyrics to Gate and Garden.
You know that Gate and Garden is the name of a song by Stevie Nicks.
You know without checking that it's the third track on Wild Heart.

Any time anyone mentions the number 17, be it someone's age, a quantity of totally un-Stevie things, or a percent in Business class, you yell/sing "ALL ALONE ON THE EDGE OF" ... *dramatic pause* ... "SE-VEN-TEEEN!!!" and then, if no one stops you, you go "do doo!" while air-pianoing and launch into "JUST LIKE A WHITE WINGED DOVE...." etc, in a weird deep voice that no one's ever heard you sing in before.
And then, if still no one stops you, the twirling begins...

have you been in my office?
were we separated at birth?
- people tell you that they hear Stevie all the time in the mall/stores since they met you
- a co-worker falls in love with Beauty and the Beast so much that they cry when they hear it...I **** you not...boo hoo tears, snot, the whole thing
- people hear a Stevie song sometime and come to your office to ask you what it's about and then they go "OH"
I had a co-worker come in my office the other day and say, oh you like Stevie Nicks...she's cool. I love Stand Back. (Then she looks at the side of my computer where I have the picture of Stevie with Max from the Bella Donna album cover taped) and says "Who's this?" LOL - I said Stevie and she said oh! While listening to studio versions of songs, you sing the live version along with them, ad libs and all. For example, Edge:
"The clouds, never expect it, when it rains, but the sea, changes color, but the sea, does not change (no the sea it does not change it does not change it doesn't)"
Even though the studio version sounds like this:
"sometimes, to be near you is to be, unable, to hear you"
"sometimes, to be near you.....is to be unable to hear you."
And if you have ANY understanding about what I just posted, you know you're a Stevie Nicks fan.

And I always do the two snaps during I Can't Wait. "Yes I know you, though we've been (snap snap) out of touch".

You get really annoyed with innocent people on the radio who _dare_ to use "Stevie Words". A perfect example was today. I had to make a difficult (for me at least) phone call and was all nervous about it. They put me on hold and the hold music was "Gypsy." That was it, I was convinced I could make this call and be confident about it. And sure enough, I was.
When I got off the phone, I floated over to where my husband was and proclaimed, "It was a sign, I tell you! The minute Gypsy played I knew the call would go OK and everything would work out in the end!" After that, I began singing Gypsy in my very flat voice and dancing around.
He looked at me like I was nuts.
