Yep, i especially loved his 'stream of consciousness' reply, full of cute little factoids about himself. Also loved his "Once I get over the "Christ, how old am I and how long have I been doing this?" bit, it's a lot of fun" comment, I can so easily hear his voice in my head, asking that question.
He's doing a really good job.

TY very much!
Seriously, I'm considering becoming his stalker.
Was that our very own Brian J. and Sharon?
I loved him talking about London to Sharon, you could tell he was really excited.

John, words can't explain how MUCH it means, to many of us, to read your answers to our questions. You're the best! Thank you, sincerely.
Fleetwood Mac changed my life. I now, fortunately, have the opportunity to thank you.

that was me...Asking the ever popular bassist question about boiling your strings (Which supposedly extends the life of the strings and helps with sound/note inotation.)That was BY FAR the best question of the batch--probably of all the batches. Great job, Brian!
I wish we had more question askers like you, instead of all that "how did it feel (to be back in London, to have a 16-year-old, to work with Stevie again, etc." garbage--to which the only response is, "Gee, it felt great!"

Man, you totally stole one of my questions with the "What bands do you like from today" one. Think. Think. Think....
Oh! Got it. Just I now need to know how to send it...

Although his answer sure was unfortunate. I can't imagine what else his daughter is making him listen to if John Mayer is the one who isn't boring him to tears.

What do you think of putting up a banner or something on the website entrance so that visitors know about John McVie doing the Q&A? It almost feels like one the most closely guarded secrets! It's a BIG deal! Although John is shy, the fact that this is taking place should receive some promotion through the FM world. Also, would you consider a link for people to ask questions on the Q&A section as I plan to let my local radio people know about it.

Hi Tango! There is actually a banner about it on the main page. I guess I was hesitant to put up a big thing to accept new questions since 1. we do have lots left over from last time and 2. i worry that as soon as we do that, he'll decide he's done and then we'll look kinda silly LOL. :p I don't know how long he's gonna do this for, we left it open-ended. Maybe I'm hoping the more laid back i keep it, the longer he'll go w/ it. But Marty would be the one to add a new 'question submission' page anyway, and he's been so busy w/ other stuff...i guess it's really up to him.

My bad Lis. The only banner I saw was for Fritz downloads. I NOW see that there is a rotating sign and the John McVie Q&A is listed in the rotation on the bottom right. I look forward to MORE! Thank you for the info.

I know you prefer the more technical stuff, David. We truly didn't get many of those kinds of questions, to be honest. Did you send any in?? But I don't think there is anything wrong w/ questions that ask how he felt about stuff, and i also don't think his answers are falling into the 'gee it felt great' category-- IMO if he is elaborating, then the subject is something he wishes to elaborate on, and that's a good thing! Don't be a party pooper. :)

Probably once John is finished, THEN I'll think of something!!
edit: Oh my God! I was thinking more about this, & I finally thought of a question!!

-LisWhat can I say, except that this just keeps getting better and better. I'm touched and so proud to have been a fan of this band for going on 30 years now. I think it said alot about Fleetwood Mac back in 1977 when a 6 year old boy heard their music and that was it.

Thanks so much Lis. And you can tell John that Holloway Road and Arsenal are the nearest tube stations on the Piccadilly line for the new Arsenal stadium. They are currently expanding Holloway to handle all the extra traffic.

Wasn't that great? He loved your question, and it got him talking a lot - he was obviously nostalgic and excited. Best answer yet! Good job, Sharon! :xoxo: I didn't know all the Englishy things that he was talking about, but it didn't matter.

Well David, you know I like ya, but as someone who never studied music and who doesn't know any technical aspects to music, I can't ask those kind of questions you deem worthy.
I'm still thrilled he answered my apparently throwaway question!

It was so much fun for me to read him talking about London and Wardour Street and all that. I can't believe they didn't let him into the Director's Lounge at Highbury though! The cheek. He's a proper Gunners fan too.
I love John. This has totally made my week! :DYes. I'm happy for you Sharon that he answered your question. Maybe if I'm lucky, he'el answer mine too!:)

I don't like technical stuff for Q&As. I like questions whose answers I don't know--those are my favorite questions & answers. If someone asked John what his favorite restaurant in Los Angeles is, that would be a cool question because I don't know the answer.
I'm still thrilled he answered my apparently throwaway question! All I can say is, YOU RAWK!!! :blob2: :blob2: don't be self-conscious about your questions.

Cool questions Sharon, great to see John is a Gunner!
I really need to catch a game at Highbury again before the move to Ashburton Grove.

Yeah, I was getting a little worried myself LOL. I hate to be a nudge, but I finally did check in w/ him yesterday-- he says he's just been a bit busy. But I guess he still intends on doing more questions! Maybe we'll get some more in soon.
PS Love your little clip of him losing his hat!

i was thrilled with his comment on molly during destiny rules...
they didnt capture his expression during the filming as the only
time you saw him was at the end, and he had his head down
(probably a tear in his eye!)...thanks to the person for asking!
proud papa...that makes me happy :D

I'm sorry, I must be missing something...what is this:
There's rumblings and mumblings of a tour later this year so hopefully we'll be back over there. if there's enough demand, that is.
?!? Is he talking about Fleetwood Mac, or is he talking about something else. This answer is a bit confusing because I don't get all that he is talking about in the first paragraph, and I'm not sure if I missed something. Help?

You know, I'm nearly 30 years younger than John, and I can relate to how he feels on that. The first time I saw the band was in 1990, and I remember seeing a pic of John holding Molly, who was still a baby! I was sixteen at the time. So, if she's sixteen now, that means I'm...

He is talking about FM. He has mentioned to me that there was a band meeting in Nov and they discussed the idea of a possible/probable tour later this year. (He also wrote that in his 'birthday thank you' message here on the Ledge back in November). That's about all he knows about future plans though....

Oh, ok. Thank you. I was just a little confused and wondered why no one was talking about it. I had been away from here for a long time and would never have seen that he said that in November.
