Ok, I need some input from more knowledgeable movie buffs here. Here's my take on Hilary; the woman's won 2 best actress oscars in the last 5 years, but you never see her on a lists for parties, in fact she seems to try to avoid that stuff. But I would think that with all of these wanna-be actresses who think their s**t don't stink that are plastered all over every paper, while someone like Hilary who has the hardware to back up a top billing is never mentioned. Maybe that's a good thing in the sense she might feel that she dosen't need all that BS. I'd like to gwt others thoughts on her and what you all think. Thank you.:)

i personally love her bigtime~ i think she is underrated also, "boys don't cry" is one of my all time fav movies~ i know it is a very sad movie, but it was based on something that happened right around where i live & hilary is also from lincoln, nebraska which is where the girl in the movie was from also, lincoln is 50 miles from me, so my community was very touched by the tragedy, & hilary portrayed the sory flawlessly & w/ heart~ i think she has done some awesome wrk throughout her career not only on the big screen but when she was starting out she did some "lifetime" movies of the week that were incredible~ i even loved "million dollar baby"~ i hope she keeps giving us quality stuff to watch!!!~

Hi! I was watching her on Golden Globes the other day and I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I think it's amazing that she doesn't bother to be around all those parties or on magazine covers. She is more down-to-earth than any other actress - and it really pisses me off when I hear that comment about other actresses who are most definitely NOT down to earth and do not miss any opporunity to appear on various covers for loads of money-.
By the way, I have actually heard some sarcastic comments about her lifestyle and her husband -that he is a loser etc-. That's just plain BS. The other day there was a comment on E! Entertainement (I think it was on E! 's craziest moments in Showbiz) about the fact that right after the Oscar ceremony (where she got the Oscar for Million Dollar Baby) that she went for a burger with her hubby and friends instead of partying with other Holywood people and -according to E!- she should be laughed at because of this:mad: ! I thought that what she did was wonderful!

Well I think she chooses to stay out of crazy press and let her work speak for it self..unlike some of these other so called ones that call themselves "stars".. I mean come on if these other ones didnt get all this press they would nobodies ..which in my opinion they are anyway...Ughh if I were a actor I would like to think I too would just let my work speak for me and forgo all the crazy stuff and try to live my life...

At the Globes she said that they are trying to work it out. She said she is still married and they want to try and make it work. I hope they can.

She's a brilliant young woman who has a very unusual attitude for being an young American actress. She doesn't try to be always visually perfect (that usually means a demented Barbie look as Golden Globes once again proved), chooses very difficult roles, and builds them with a surprising mental and physical control for her age.
Sometimes she gives the impression to think too much and this makes me feel a bit distant from her performances, but she even shows great margins to get better and better. I hope Hollywood would respect her talent.

I hope it stays that way even when she's in her forties. Even only to look at Meg Ryan 's face makes me angry. If an actress feels the urge to do that, it mean there's a serious problem with the way artists are treated there.

I want to like her...and I do, but something about her irkes the hell out of me.
