I didn't think it was bad. I'll wait til you see it to see what you have to say.
If you liked Saw, you should like this one as well.
on the previews they showed a remake of "When A Stranger Calls" that had my in chills the ENTIRE time the preview was showing

Is nothing sacred anymore? Can't wait until the remake of Don't Look Now.

I did like Saw...but it was flawed...mostly the acting. But I liked the idea of it.
I read this review of Hostel (http://www.horrorchannel.com/index.php?name=Reviews&req=showcontent&id=547). Got me hooked.
I remember seeing When A Stranger Calls as a double feature in the 80's with Happy Birthday To Me. I can't believe they remade it. Oh wait...I can.

Happy Birthday To Me.
The ending to that is one of the most insane things I've ever seen in a movie. The screenwriter was under the influence of some illicit substances when he came up with it.

the remake seems to just take the story, but the details aren't really the same...the idea is there, but they didn't take the script and set and regurgitate it

Well I must say that is was an excellent movie. I really enjoyed it a lot! but..
I will never see it again, I don't think a movie ever made my hear pound so much. All I am gonan say is if you don't like seeing humans get brutally tourtured.. well, then don't go see this movie. I think on the gory and graphic scale... from 1 - 10 it rates a 13!
You'll have to see for your self..
Tell us what you thought!

that's a fairly accurate review. I wouldn't say it will be a classic. The acting is 100% better than Cabin Fever and yes, Jay Hernandez is hot - he's worth the price of admission.
I will say that one thing that pissed me off is the constant "fag" this "queer" that - and it wasn't once or twice, it was throughout the first 30 mins of the movie...and other things...at one point I couldn't believe I was actually in a theater watching this...

Cabin Fever
 I knew the name Eli Roth was familiar. That movie was wretched. Rider ****ing Strong starring in it should have tipped me off immediately, but the tone of that entire movie was so schizophrenic that I felt as if I was being tortured right where I sat for having to endure it.

to me, that movie was one of the best movies gone completely f*cking wrong - it was just wrong
...especially the ending...it's like they saw what they had already and started laughing at it so they said to hell with it and screwed up the ending and added an attempted comedic twist

All I have to say is PANCAKES m*therf*ckers!!!!!!
That scene was HILARIOUS!! LOVED the kid's mullet.
You know, I had high hopes for Eli Roth, him being a David Lynch protigee and all. I thought Cabin Fever had its moments, mainly the scene I referenced above. If Hostel is anywhere near good, I'll go see it. I think Roth has potential.

Daulton Trombo's "Johnny Got His Gun"? That has the most FUBAR'd ending of any movie I ever saw...
I can see why Mr.Trombo was blacklisted in Hollyweird...His **** was years ahead of all these "Twist ending" movies.

oh my god, that's horrible
I remember seeing The Village and a girl in the theater had some sort of panic attack or seizure. The ambulance had to come and everything...it was weird. All of a sudden someone yelled "Call 911" and everyone thought they were kidding til we turned around and saw the girl convulsing.

Does anyone else think this movie was hyped up WAY TOO MUCH. For Christs sake there is only horror moments for 20 minutes of the movie. For the majority of the movie your trying to figure out what the hell is goin on, then when you finally do it just sounds kinda lame. It made me feel like it was a rip off of a lot of movies. It gets me mad when a movie like this gets so much attention.
The actress in the new "When A Stranger Calls" sounded so horrific I almost couldn't bare to watch it. And anyway where in the f**K is there house? In the Wilderness?
