I know that in the usa a president is elected for four years and can only do two terms.

But what about

1) governors ? (how long, how many times re-elected ?)
2) mayors ? ( " )

Thx! :wavey:

I believe every governor serves a 4 year term (but could be wrong about that). How many terms they can serve depends on the state. 36 states have term limits for governors. Some can only serve 2 terms, others don't have limits, some will let you run again after 2 terms if you sit out 4 years, etc.

Length and number of terms for mayors vary widely and depend on the city charter.

Our mayor in Boston is beginning his 4th term. I'm not sure if there is any term limit for mayors here, I don't think there is.

Thomas Menino right?

The one and only. He's a pretty good mayor. If he finishes his term it'll be a record here for longest in office.
