Favorite song: undecided (again, too many!)

I was listening to that in my car earlier when I was going to dinner. I don't think I ever skip a song on that album (except maybe "The Tide Is High" because I'm so ****ing sick of it). It's like a movie. One giant, preposterous, kitschy, fun movie. The moment on that album that makes my whole body feel electric is the transition from "Europa" into "Live It Up." It can't be explained.

I've never heard TISL. I divorced Old What's Her Name after OSOTM(egads, what a piece of sh*t!).
I felt bad about not including any Chris solo albums, BUT, it's more timing than anything. Maybe it's just me, but, odds are, alot of music that ends up making a permanent impression on you, merely has to do with where you were at that point in your life. I was being completely honest, listing albums that were integral to me reaching the next step in life. The only one I left out was Yes - 90125.

For what? Stating his opinion, without saying anything negative towards any Ledgie here?
We're all different. Wouldn't it be BORING if we weren't?

I even said I LOVED Bella Donna!!! Guess the "everything else sucked" part really got to her...

I get that too, it's weird. I guess it's just part of the whole Autoamerican experience. ;) That's one great record tho.

Plus, "Live It Up" has "funeral pyre" in the lyrics. Points are scored automatically for that.

I think I'd pass out if they somehow managed to open a show with "Europa."

Excellent choice, Dan-O!! Everything about Jeff B. is awesome (except that he's dead). That song gets me every time.

1. Eurythmics - Savage

Favourite Songs: Put The Blame On Me, Beethoven, Savage
My absolute favorite Eurythmics album, with "Savage" being the best of a very good bunch of songs.

"I have this unhappiness to wear around my neck
It's a pretty piece of jewelry to show what I protect..."

Not to mention probably my favorite Annie lyrics, ever...

"You think you know just what you want
But you have used that weapon against me.
Did I tell you I was lying by the way
When I said I wanted a new mink coat!

I was just thinking about
Something sleek-
To wrap around my tender throat...

I was dreaming like a Texan girl!
A girl who thinks she's got the right to everything!
A girl who thinks she should have something extreme!!"

Argh, I can't make a connection to download it. I shall keep trying and thanks for upping it. :xoxo:

Did you manage to get it?

Annie re-recorded it about ten years ago and it's pretty good. Have you heard it?

I don't think I've really heard anything by her after she left the group. How does her voice sound? I know that Anita O'Day's went downhill as she got older.

Her voice is, erm, uhhhh...different nowadays. Deep and croaky when you compare it to the stuff she recorded back in the day. I still quite like it, though. The stuff she recorded for Robert Altman's "Short Cuts" with the Low Note Quintet is some of my favorite material of hers, especially "To Hell With Love." That song is a real firecracker, I'll upload it for you.

Absolutely, she gave to the movie such a deep soul, I can't think to the film without listening to her voice.
