So, I'm over on the Stevie board, posting my "What's Stevie Thinking" thread, when I hear this loud sound coming from outside. I kinda look out the window, and go in Sara's room and look out that window, but see nothing. 20 minutes later, I swore I heard someone knocking at the door, so I looked out Sara's window, and there was a wet footprint on my front porch. So, I disarmed the alarm system, and open the front door, and there's a cop and my neighbor, wanting to know if I'd seen anything. They're car windows were busted completly out. All of 'em. I'm so paranoid now. I don't want to go to bed. It was right here... and I heard it. And dammit, I just didn't get up and look in time to give a vehicle description. AAHHHH.... I got to go to work in the morning.. but I'm scared to go to sleep. I hate feeling like I've had my sense of security shattered.

Ya, that sounded kinda stupid, huh? I saw the cop car in the neighbors driveway, and I have a window right up next to the door, so I saw it was them. What's even more scary for me is that I live in the suburbs. I know the sub's aren't immune to crime, but, I guess it's just the thought.

OK, guys... I'm gonna try to go to bed. I know Suze had a good point in a different thread that they'd be stupid to come back to this area now, but I'm a paranoid freak. So, I have my downstairs lights on, and the living room TV. Upstairs, the computer room and Sara's playroom lights are on. Sara is now in my bed. The alarm is set, the phone is next to my bed. The only thing I'm missing is the .38... but it's at my dad's. He won't let me have it back. A lot of good it's doing me there, huh???
Told you I was a paranoid freak! :o
G'nite ya'll.

Have you seen the movie Scream before?
Go turn the alarm off, unlock the doors, crack your windows, and turn Scream on.

Yesterday was quite the day. Around 5 pm, I was sitting here working away when I noticed a helicopter hovering over my house. I went outside and looked up and saw it was a news copter, so I turned on the evening news to see the house down the street with an abandoned pickup truck on the front lawn. Turns out there was a carjacking, chase and then the carjackers fled on foot. So I took a deep breath and made sure the deadbolt was locked. that's really all you can do. :(

I'm sure they won't be back. I was thinking that it sounds like someone is pissed at your neighbor. Why would anyone break out ALL the windows on someone's car, unless it was revenge?! I'm thinking that your neighbor should be very worried:shocked:,and you can rest a little easier. Take care our yourself and try to focus on that.

Dumbass teenager theory is possible, but Man, that is a lot of work for a stupid prank. Still betting on the revenge theory. Somebody's cheating on someone. The other woman/man gets pissed. BOOM! no windows.

I don't know, when I was a teen my friends did some pretty stupid things. It might have just been that. Check with the police? Ask your neighbors what happened?

I'm going to when I get home tonight. You can't come knocking on my door late at night without expecting me to be nosey the next day!!!
On dumbass teenager theory: I am only about the 4th house into the edition, which makes my neighbors the third, and it is the last car parked on the street before going out on the main road. Easy access, quick getaway. A "hey, I dare you to...." possibly?

Thieves can be pretty stupid, AND LAZY. My vehicle was broken into, a couple years ago. After breaking one window........UNlocking the doors would've been too easy!!!,so they broke another window, again, RATHER THAN HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON!! Idiot was so drunk/drugged, he was passed out, literally face down in a plate of food, at his table, when the cops arrested him.

I talked with the neighbors. It happened in the neighborhood just west of us like 15 minutes earlier, from what the cops said. I guess they just returned from a similar call right before they were called to our neighborhood. Little bastards. But, I was wrong. They only busted out 3 windows. Front, back and driverside. They got quotes today, and to replace all 3 will cost them over $500. Hell, I don't even think the car is worth that!
