I hated most of the 80's musically (luckily there were David Bowie and bands like The Smiths, Level 42, Cure, Joy Division/New Order to save me), I abhorred the dresses and the haircuts, but most of all the way of thinking. Even if I had been older (I was a teen) I wouldn't have been at that time a Stevie fan, because a coked out (for most of the decade and klonopin addicted for the other) rockstar drowning towards the end in a world ruled by Rupert Hine wouldn't have had my attention. The decadent element would have been sickening.

I much prefer the woman and the artist she is now.

While all of my friends were fans of other rock bands and "fly by night" one hit wonders...I stuck by Stevie as always! I am still a true <img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/GiniLeaE/childofthe80s.gif" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"> and I love the BIG hair and LONG hair of the era, but I think that the positive changes that have been made in the majority of the musicians lives (such as Stevie's) far outweigh their youthful looks that we and they may miss. She is now just as artistic without the drugs, and the aging process slows when you don't do drugs and alcohol.</center>

My parents were not<img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/GiniLeaE/hippy.gif" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket">hippies & never did drugs<img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/GiniLeaE/smoker.gif" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket">, but were fans of the music. I was childishly oblivious to the drugs, and until my early teens...I never knew of her drug issues. When I did, it was inspiring to see her oversome them. While all of my friends were fans of other rock bands and "fly by night" one hit wonders...I stuck by Stevie as always! I am still a true <img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/GiniLeaE/childofthe80s.gif" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"> and I love the BIG hair and LONG hair of the era, but I think that the positive changes that have been made in the majority of the musicians lives (such as Stevie's) far outweigh their youthful looks that we and they may miss. She is now just as artistic without the drugs, and the aging process slows when you don't do drugs and alcohol.</center>
