Did anyone here get an e mail recently from a Sandy Halliburton claiming to have written a book to be released in March '06 called "The musical journey of Stevie Nicks" with a link to www.stevienicksbiography.com (which doesn't work yet but it says in the e mail that the site will be up in March when the book comes out)?

Just wanted to make sure this was the real deal (as I wasn't sure how they even got my e mail address, but I guess I shoulnd't be surprised, but I won't complain if it is). :)

No idea. Sounds interesting though.... The name Sandy Halliburton is down as a Trivia Winner on ye olde Nicks Fix [I googled it, I don't learn these things off.... honest! :D ] No, I don't know what significance that has either!

There's no results for the name of the book on Google.

Yeah, I tried the title on Google with no luck but forgot to try the name, thanks for that. Hopefully other details will surface soon though. :)

I work as a book buyer for a major chain and I have seen the catalogs for Spring/Summer 2006 for all the major publishers as well as some of the minors. This is news to me. Now, it could be self published or through a VERY small print house, it has happened. But I have not been solicited on this, or you guys would have been the first to know....

(Incidentally, there will be a book on Warren Zevon written by his widow, with an interview with Stevie. I can't recall the name right now, but it should be out in April)

Yeah, it's being published through iUniverse and has a relatively small print run (10,000). I was contacted by her awhile ago for permission to use one of my concert photos in it. Except the e-mail I got said it was going to be titled "Read Between Her Lines" but maybe that's a subtitle or it has since changed. I think it was going to be about 110 pages and list for $18.95 or something like that.

I just thought I got one because I'm part of the Stevie chain. You know, where you get about 25 emails a day about Stevie things?

Don't pout, that Stevie chain is hella irritating. You're lucky.
(no offense to the chain, they have good articles and quotes and stuff sometimes)

The email address used for me is one I have posted on the contact page of my fireflies UK website. Do all you others who got one have a website?

I received this email also.

I don't have a website and I am not a part of the "Chain". I wonder if they have a list of people that have purchased Stevie related merchandise?

Anyone know from the email sender if this is an authorized biography, or will this be similar to the Leah Furman book, Rumours Exposed- which seemed to contain a lot of gleaning from The Penguin's very own Blue Letter Archives. I can't imagine there could actually be any new material in this book- unless it is authorized- that hasn't been covered in The Penguin's archives or in the book (no longer being published) by Ethlie Ann Vare and Ed Ochs called Everything You Want to Know About Stevie Nicks- which at least included interviews with some of Stevie's associates.

We have a ton of FREE info on the entire band right here on The Penguin:

If it's not authorized, I'd just assume save my money anyhow.

I didn't get an email either. Harumph.

I'll probably end up buying it at some point... but really only for the purty pictures.

Maybe Stevie secretly wrote her autobiography and because she doesn't want all the 'wives' to read and know about it, only a select number of people will be privy to it. Hah.

Me neither and for the pics is exactly what I was thinking. It sounds like she may have pulled email addresses off of Web sites. I think if someone really wants to find addresses for a certain demographic it can be done, there is no privacy!

As some of you have indicated, it's probably not that hard to find email addys on people interested on FM/Stevie. For all anyone knows, it might be someone that posts on this site (isn't it possible to send/receive emails via this site?) and already has contact with the fans here. It would also explain how they knew who to seek photographs from, if they are members here, or at least lurk here. Those that posted pics here, posted their pics for free. I personally won't buy a book to get photos that were shared by fans for free. On the other hand, if this book is truly "new," with something other than what we have from various publications and interviews or- if it is something authorized and includes some brand new interviews, I'd think about it. But I have no interest in giving a fan $$$$$$ for "nothing." I'd appreciate hearing from those that have email contact with this author on the details as they become available. And if it's a book of fan collected "fiction," I definitely have no interest in paying for that!
