Did Stevie suffer a stroke? (No she didn't - edited to keep you from having one.)

Someone emailed me about Stevie suffering a minor stroke over the holidays. I'd imagine this would be the first place someone would post if they knew anything. I have no idea, repeat, no idea if this is true. It could be fan fiction or some odd prank, for all we know. Anyway, the person said that an official statement would be issued on the Fix. Keep an eye out. I pray that this is just a bad joke.

I've searched all over the net, including Stevie's own site and fan sites, and there is absolutely nothing reporting that Stevie had a stroke or has fallen ill. Let's just pray that there was some sort of miscommunication and that Stevie is doing well.

I think they would post it on the Fix if tourdates are cancelled, Yes. Also, if another media outlet were going to report, maybe her site would say something? I am praying for her.

That's exactly what I was thinking. This could easily remain private if it happened, there is no reason for anyone else to know about it except her doctor. It seems like the only leak could be someone at her doctors', or if Jess told one of her friends. But usually doctors who treat famous people keep things secret, and I'm sure Jess is supposed to as well. So, who else would know and tell? :confused:

A MINOR stroke can be nothing. Look at that 30 year old Patriots player Tedy Bruschi- he had a minor stroke and he his back to normal. It doesn't have to be the end of Stevie, even if true. I hope if this true, it is MINOR.But I hope this proves to be totally untrue, like everyone else here.

I'd like to suggest that we all remember that this is just a rumor right now.
Stevie would probably consider it pretty stupid if we let it ruin our Holidays.
And also let's keep in mind that the rumour is about a MINOR stroke - so if it's even true, it could have been worse. If it's true, I'm sure John will post something as soon as he's told what to do. So let's just pray for her and "WISH her WELL" right now.

I agree, I'll be emailing as well. The higher the volume the quicker the response. I really can't think of any reason why not to. Rumours like these happen, and I think they would want to know to clarify things.

There was a rumor started that Stevie had health problems. I have just spoken to the Nicks Family and confirmed it as a fraud. Stevie is fine. Thanks for your concern.

Glad to know this was just a nasty rumor! Someone on my Friends list on MySpace had a bulletin with the title "Stevie Nicks had a stoke". I just read it 5 minutes ago, and my heart almost stopped! There was no additional information, so I immediately headed over here to see if it was true. I'm relieved to know that it isn't.

It never ceases to amaze me, however, how cruel and vindictive some people can be, whoever started this rumor. :distress:

I am glad to hear that Stevie is OK! I figured that it was a rumour. I remember that someone started a rumour that she had breast cancer a few years ago. I also remember that someone who had a name similar to Stevie's passed away a few years ago and that was the source of some conflicting stories. That's kind of what I thought. I mean, let's be honest and say FM aren't that huge anymore (on the same level as say Madonna, Jessica Simpsons, etc; I'm not saying they're better, but in today's media and pop culture they get more coverage) but they were once one of the biggest bands in the world with one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Anyways, something would probably make the news.

If he would've said god forbid she died, it would've been unbeliievfable becasue we would have definatly heard that in the news immediately.
