Whoo hoo! This was my first fave on the album, too, after Hung Up. The first one that really grabbed me.

I also love Forbidden Love...

(hmm.. I haven't listened to Confessions in so long... it got put aside in favour of Jason Collett and Cyndi's Body Acoustic for the past little while. Must go back and listen again  ).

Yup.

One of the only songs I like on the album.

I absolutely love this whole CD. Sorry was my first favorite too. But now I really like Jump and How High. I really love Let it Be too. I can't quit listening to it, it's addicting to me!

Sorry will have to grow on me, not a personal fave. But I absolutely love "Forbidden Love" and "Jump."

I'm in the same boat as you are... Excellent cd... it's played at least once a day!

Although this is some home grown remix... It will be interesting to see what the official remixers do with this track. With Hung Up, I was a little disappointed in the remixes which usually isn't the case with Madonna tracks, I usually like the remixes better then the original, but with Hung Up, I like the original better then the remix.

I love the album, and "Sorry" is my favorite song on there. I'm glad it's the second single... I think it has a lot of potential for a radio hit. I found a single edit recently, but I haven't been able to verify whether or not it's official. I'm actually hoping it's not, because it chops up the chorus too much for my tastes.

Has anyone had a chance to hear "Fighting Spirit"? It's the bonus track from the limited edition version of the album, and, in my opinion, it should have been an album track (replacing "I Love New York").

Yeah, I've heard Fighting Spirit - not bad, but I prefer the New York track:laugh:

There's also another bonus track called "Super Pop".

With Hung Up, I was a little disappointed in the remixes which usually isn't the case with Madonna tracks, I usually like the remixes better then the original, but with Hung Up, I like the original better then the remix.I love the SDP Extended Vocal remix, but the other "Hung Up" mixes don't really do anything for me.

I tend to prefer old-school remixes/extended versions best... the ones that basically sounded like a double-length version of the album track, with some extra keyboards and percussion added.

Yeah, I've heard Fighting Spirit - not bad, but I prefer the New York track:laugh: Do you really? I don't hate "I Love," but I don't love it either. It just kind of sits there on the album. I'm crazy about "Fighting Spirit" though. I think part of the appeal for me, are the chimes.

There's also another bonus track called "Super Pop"."Super Pop" is good up to a point... but then she gets a little hung up (pardon the pun) on the whole "if I were the president" stuff, and she loses me.

Yeah, Super Pop shouldn't have been on the album for sure...It can stay a b-side or what ever it is. It has elements of Hung Up in it... And the dog barking doesn't do anything for it either... I'm happy with the 12 on the cd as it is...

I think "Jump" is the 3rd single... at least that's my hunch. The sticker on the cd when you buy it, at least here, lists Hung Up, Sorry and Jump as featured tracks.. so.

That song makes you wonder if she's questioning her next career move.

I think Sorry was the best choice for the next single, but I think How High and Jump would be great singles too.

My favorite song, BY FAR, is Like It Or Not.

I got this CD the day it came out, and really w/ December, got little time to listen to it. NOW, shoot me, cause it's all I can do NOT to listen to it, and the fact that Sorry is the next single, ugh, I am beside myself. I am a closet Madonna fan, usually reveling in the fact that hubby adores her, so anything I buy or any raves are cause "hubby listens to it." Not now, Holy Cow. In order of album, Hung up, Sorry, I Love New Yourk, How High and Isaac are my favs. This is an amazing album. Oddly about the only song I don't mind passing up (though I don't) is Future Lovers. It has a pitch that sorta annoys me. Like a literal pitch that kind of grates my eardrums. Go figure. Anyway, had to come out and rave. ;) :wavey:

I am sorry, I can't stand sampling, and sampling ABBA (I like ABBA BTW) just means she is running out of ideas. WRITE YOUR OWN STUFF PEOPLE!!!!! Sampling is just weak...weak. weak. weak..

What about a certain singer who lifts lines and ideas straight out of literature? I don't see much of a difference.

It depends on how it is used...

Mariah does the best job of sampling...

Fantasy, Honey and Heartbreaker are three great examples of this...and yet they still sound fresh and new.

'Course I have, Brian, lol. I love it, it definitely should have been on the album.

And I'm extremely happy that "Sorry" is the next single, because it's one of my favorite tracks on the album (right behind Push and Get Together).

I generally would agree with your statement, but I have to add this thought. Madonna has released what, roughly 10 pure (not comps or movie scores) albums of music since 1985-ish?
Each one is fresh, new and innovative. Stevie has released 6 albums since 81each fresh and innovative IMO, but that's because I am partial. Madonna is a far lesser writer (Again IMO) than Stevie, but at this point I'd kill for Stevie to sample something if that meant she had run out of ideas but wanted to release something. With 10+ albums to Madonna's credit, I hardly think she is out of idea's. I'm quite surprised she has come this far W/OUT sampling yet.
Many artists on their 1st, 2 or even junior solo efforts sample and that would tell me they don't have longevity, but Madonna sampling after 20 years, kudo's to her.

In some cases, sampling pisses me off. I honestly dont' think Madonna is running out of ideas... Have you listened to the rest of the album? It's f*ck*ng incredible!
