So whats everyones favorite country women? Heres mine in random order

DOTTIE WEST--underappreciated and long forgotten :( a true Bob Mackie slut in her day. Wish she would of worn less clothes in the 60s too. I mostly favor her late 70s/80s material only. My FAVORITE song of hers of all time is off her last studio album "Just Dottie" in 84 called "Aint Nothing Like A Woman(To keep a woman off of your mind)" Why this wasn't a big hit then I dont know, her live versions of it are so uptempo and rocking. Anyone could record it today and make a HUGE hit out of it.

Gretchen Wilson
Martina McBride
Wynonna & Mom
Jo Dee Messina
Reba
Yes if you want to call her country Shania
Dolly
Tammy Wynette
Tanya Tucker
Lorette Lynn

I pretty much like everyone, but these are my favorites. I like her but Im not a HUGE Trisha Yearwood fan, but she has to be one of the nicest people Ive ever met before. I also can't get enough of Miranda Lambert and her Kerousinne video lately!

Dolly Parton
Loretta Lynn
Lucinda Williams
Patsy Cline

That's about it. They're the only female country artists I can stand. I can't do country except the old stuff (some of it, like Johnny Cash), and alt-country, like Wilco. Never really dug it.

Miranda Lambert (Saw her open for M&G in July 2004 before her rise to the bigtime...Definitely able to entertain without the usual vocal theatrics, She can play the hell out of the guitar.)

Dolly Parton

Overall I am not into female vocalists that much these days (Never really been in the first place).

Yes, I love every second of it. I grew up in the area she lives. So watching it in CA always puts a little homesick tear in my eye :).

1. Emmylou Harris

No one can touch Emmylou. That voice is indescribable and her recorded material is amongst the best that country and alt-country has to offer. Her new song on the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack is certifiable proof that she's as good today as she was thirty years ago.
