so, finally I went last night to see K.Kong. Very cool, full entertainment, action, cool fx, I didn't feel the 3 hours, I was satisfied with all the action but.. I got a few little doubts about some details, that at the end made me laugh with all my friends...

1. How could Ann run so fast with Jack, along that wild island, if she was wearing no shoes?? Was she Wonder woman???

2. How could Jack save Ann, after fighting w/ the giant bugs and leaving his friends? I mean, within that WILD island, he was alone and with NO GUN, and he saved the girl??

3. Wasn't winter in NYC? Central Park lagoon was freezed, full ice and snow. But Ann was wearing a tiny dress.. how could she resist the strong winter wind on the top of ESB???

4. How could they brought the ape to America?? That ship didn't look too big, no space for that beast.

5. How did they get the monkey into the theater? Well, yes, maybe there was a backstage big door. ha haa

6. About the rescue again.. Jack was a writer, not an athlete or a trapezist. But he could hang from the rope very good, with the girl and with giant vampires attacking him. Rambo couldn't do it better!!

Anyway,, cool movie, I enjoyed it

I love that I'm not the only one who notices things about movies that aren't very realistic. Most people just overlook it or don't care, but my mind tends to notice everything like that. I haven't seen it and doubt I will, it's just not my kind of movie, but if I do, I'm sure I'll be thinking the same things...

Well, its called "suspension of disbelief" and to enjoy a movie you can just let yourself believe. I get plenty of realistic in my daily life! These things do irritate me to sometimes but normally I can let it go, unless I'm in a "mood".

I did enjoy the movie, but couldn't help about thinking in those things. I do let myself believe. It's like watching a theater play, you fill in the blanks with your imagination, and that's cool. But in this case, i think they exagerated a bit.

I forgot one more comment, didn't you notice a strong gay presence in this movie?? Hayes the black sailor and Jimmy the young one, the old sailor w/hat and the oriental one, etc. My friends started to notice it (??) and made jokes, too

To answer your questions:
1. It's a movie
2. It's a movie
3. It's a movie
4. It's a movie
5. It's a movie
6. It's a movie
;)

It was entertaining. There was definately love between the young sailor and the older black one, but it didn't necessarily feel like a romantic love. More of a protective big brother/little brother kind of thing.
The skimpy dress and the cold weather did stand out to me, as did the fact that just moments before she showed up it was complete carnage then suddenly no one was on the street and everything was still.
The one scene I really could have done without was the gliding along the frozen pond. A little too much at that point.

I remember 1976' King Kong was severily criticized, but it has its cool moments. Jessica Lange got a shower in the island falls, managed by Kong's hand. That was very sensual moment (I was 10, u know) and actually liked more than the 2005 gliding along the frozen pond scene.. (though in general this last was better movie).

First of all, I thought this movie was forgettable at best.

That being said, this is the first I've heard of any "gay presence" or gay overtones in the movie. I? Didn't notice any of it. But then again people have said the same about other movies. Pirates of the Carribean for example- aside from the fact that ****bait looked like a girl in a beard... I mean Orlando Bloom looked rather effeminate... I didn't see it. Master and Commander was another.

Apparently two male characters in a movie can't have a strong friendship without people assuming there's something more.

Well, my friends and I were laughing about it, so we didn't really mean it. Besides, some of my friends at the cineme were gay, and they looove to find any gay presence anywhere (just to joke, of course) so when they formuled their theory during the scenes where the chinese guy and the black sailor die (and their friends crying..) I couldn't stop laughing..

Well, I saw it last night. I liked it, it was CERTAINLY better than that piece of dog dung from 1976 with Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange:eek:
