Aww. You know, I hate to say it, but I'm not crazy about the new Water's Edge. I generally skip over it. That, and Girls. Do we need another version? It's already been done to death 48490239 ways in concert. Oh, well.
Overall, the CD is awesome.

I was watching CMT tonite--I liked her voice-I thought she had a little Janis Joplin quality in it. Post back if it is any good-I was curious after seeing the video.

YES!! She is brilliant. The song I know best is Black Horse and a Cherry Tree. I loved it from the first time I heard it - and i totally lucked out a few weeks ago when she turned out to be the opener for a Jason Collett concert I was at. She walks out with just her guitar, and this cool little gadget. And every single part you hear on her music is generated by her. She records the parts live and plays them back, while she adds layer upon layer. I was amazed at how many different planes her brain was functioning on. She is truly incredibly talented. And she put on a great show. This CD is top of my wish list right now.

I really didn't give or get much in the way of music this year.

The only person to receive any from me got Lindsey's Soundstage and Hootie and the Blowfish's new one... can't remember the name but it's something about "Sparky." Whatever.

I received "Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs of Warren Zevon" (tribute album), "Fleetwood Mac: Then Play On" and an MP3 player (which I have subsequently filled with Walter Egan, Tom Petty and Lindsey Buckingham songs. I need to get an SD card for it so I can put even more on there).

WaitWaitwaitwaitwait....Hootie and the etc. made another album?!
How is it?

Hell if I know.

My friend's two favorite bands are Hootie and the Blowfish and Fleetwood Mac, in that order. I never really cared for them but even she didn't know they had the album out. I just happened to come across it one day at Target or Walmart. Apparently they've had five or six albums (including a greatest hits) and Darius Rucker also has a solo album.

P.S.
On the Itunes... I prefer to live in the stone age where you have an actual tangible cd to hold in your hands (and take up space) with liner notes to look at. I'm weird that way. The MP3 player was not something I asked for or expected.
