Hey, how goes it?
I'm going to Padre Island to stay with some friends and we're all dying to learn to surf.... I've been to Padre Island and the Corpus Christi area before..and fell in love...so odds are I'm going to become a resident after school is over and done with....
anyhow... I want to go ahead and buy a board before I go... but they sure as hell don't sell any in my neck of the woods....
So, For those of you who surf...
What's a good beginner's board to buy? I've looked around a little online..but i'm clueless... Brand? Size?.. anything would be helpful... cause I don't want to be laughed at when I walk on the beach with a pathetic 2x4 under my arm.... you know what I mean?!
Thanks dudes..

yeesh..Right on. When I was in Australia 4 years ago I learned about this Jellyfish that if it stings you, Stick a fork in ya, ur done. On a lighter note, I visited Corpus Christi when I was 13 back in 1984, and one thing I remember about that place is Whataburger. Quite good as I remember.

Looks sexy!
Obviously not alot of surfers here (me included, I thought you were referring to a hair cut or some kind of computer jargon...). Hope you have a great time. By the way did you see those giant waves off So. Cal. this week?

Did not get to see them in person...I'm an East Coaster.... we surf the waves from docking oil tankers.... seriously..it's the best we get... or got..until the big one hit....Katrina...that whore....and then Rita too... that slut... pardon my french..but you gotta understand where I'm coming from ..:distress:
But I did catch sight of them on the news.... 20 footers in some parts of Cali... and lot's of rescued surfers.. woo!:]
