They generally do Magic Man, Crazy On You, Barracuda, Dog and Butterfly,
Even It Up, Alone, Little Queen, These Dreams, Dreamboat Annie, and Love Alive. Sometimes if you are lucky they might break out Straight On and Mistral Wind.
Often in the encore they will do a fantastic Zeppelin set of Battle of Evermore, Black Dog and Rock and Roll.
When I last saw them, from Jupiter they did Make Me, Oldest Story In The World, The Perfect Goodbye, and Vainglorious if I remember correctly. They did one ballad from it but the title escapes me...either Fallen Ones or No Other Love ?

Of course, it was a great show. They have NEVER let me down live. Never. Towie was there too.

I've seen them twice. Sparky's setlist is about right. The first time I saw them, they played "Mistral Wind" and it kicked ASSSSSSSSSSS! Perhaps they'll do it again for you, they don't always include it, but trust me, it's a treat. Oh, and they always do a couple of covers...usually Led Zep. Have a great time and I expect a full review when you return!

Sparkys setlist sounds pretty accurate. But, when they started their Summer of Love tour, they didn't sing Alone or Magic Man. They added them to their setlist later because their fans wanted to hear them. Another reason why I love Heart. I read somewhere, could've been their forum, that Ann didn't like to perform Magic Man. Bad memories and all. But she sucked it up and did it for the fans. Not sure about the truth in that statement. Maybe someone else knows.

Enjoy the show!!

Actually they ALWAYS do Straight On. They haven't done Little Queen basically since the 70s, but they have done Kick It Out since 03. They did Bebe Le Strange on the American 04 tour, and I believe at some shows last year maybe.

Basically since 2002 Heart has been nothing but the 70s material only, and the new Jupiters Darling album, plus Alone/These Dreams, and Wild Child in 02/03. They also do too many damn covers of Beatles, Elton John, and Zepplin. As much as I love those 3 acts 1, maybe 2 covers are ok, but in some shows they have done up to 4 I believe.

So in other words yes im a HUGE 80s Heart fan, and they have totally ignored that era for the most part for years. Its funny this is the main feel on the Heart board. Since Ann & Nancy dislike so much of their 80s material, lots of the fans over there also think its the cool thing to do and adapt the same attitude ass Ann & Nancy in regards to the 80s material. One of the main reasons they do this too is bc the 2 people(who are very nice people) that run the board work directly with Ann & Nancy on a regular/daily basis. They do lots of VERY NICE things for the fans, meet and greets, lots of free giveaways, etc. But basically theres lots of ass kissing over there. So thats one main reason why people dont bitch about the set list as much as they use to years ago on the old Heart board. Ive been one of the ones nicely asking for years and years and years to hear What About Love again, Who Will You Run Too, Never--gee all top 5 hits. Heart sold more records in the 80s and had more hits. If it wasnt for the corporate game they played in the 80s, Heart today would probably be opening for Kansas at some small bar.

I, too, am a huge 80s Heart fan, but since I also love the 70s stuff, I wont complain toooooo hard. One thing that ruined the show I saw, was three women who spent the whole show yelling....Ann! Ann! Sing Alone.....Sing ALONE!!!....and then left right after they did! Do not go and see a band when you only know one freakin song! OK, just had to get that off my chest.

I wonder if they'll come back to the UK....gotta hope.

I love Heart. I saw them in New Orleans a few years back and was pissed that they only sang I think 3 songs that I even knew and I own probably all of the Heart albums. Every other song was, "we want to do this new song" and I was like ok, give it a shot, but every time I was like, damn, this sucks. They did do Barracuda, Alone and something else I can't remember what, but I remember thinking I probably wouldn't see them live again. Now, take that as you may, but I think it applies to a lot of people who gripe about Stevie's setlist. I'd say I'm a little more than a casual fan of Heart, but the setlist full of "rare or new" stuff totally turned me off of them live.

but it may be either just Jerry Cantrell on vocals or possibly Pat Lachman (Of Damageplan/Halford fame...Pat was the singer onstage with Damageplan when Dimebag was shot/murdered). I feel Pat could be a great replacement for the late Layne Staley in AIC...Has the voice for the job (ie-Damageplan's "Soul Bleed" is proof enuff for me.)

Also VH1 Classic has started to advertise their (Heart with special guests AIC & Gretchen Upchuck live via satellite) show for the NJ show (Which will be taped and broadcast as had the Bonnie Raitt show from NJ).

LOL. Heart's new stuff has been very hit or miss for years. Like Stevie, their best songwriting years are far behind them, though they crack one or two out of the park with each album. Most Stevie fans would react exactly like you if she did the same with new material. Thus the bathroom and beer exodus during all the new songs on her and Mac's recent tours. The fans are mostly nostalgia fans, and the new songs aren't as great as the old ones. It happens.

Stevie's problem isn't comparable to what you described. Stevie doesn't play a "greatest hits" set or a "rare and new" set. She plays a totally bizarre set filled with a few hits and bunch of non-hits that she recycles tour after tour, along with some boring covers. It's the latter that bothers me. I couldn't care less if she played Dreams, GDW, Rhiannon, etc. if she would stop playing Enchanted, HAEWAFY, Outside the Rain, I Need To Know (okay, she finally stopped playing that one).

I used to compare the two a lot, in the 70's, anyway. That was mostly due to the imagery used, the clothes, and the harmonies. But Heart was always way more rock and roll than Stevie and their career took totally different trajectory in the 80's. They did a complete sell out with those cover songs, had a great second act in their careers. After three or four records, they ditched the major label thing and did exactly what they wanted. They sound very satisfied with that too, raising families, going on the road, and recording exactly what they want without interference. Seems like a good balance and they appear very satisfied creatively. It's an interesting comparison to Stevie, really. Considering how they both started out.

Heart Live in the early 80's were excellent!!
Saw them a few times...(Once with a "nobody" named John Cougar, for an opening act) ...Needless to say, he made quite the impression...he didn't play any instruments with his band. He just sang and danced to the music...
BUT,
the encore was just John , an accoustic guitar, one light shining down on him and he starts strumming... and he covered
The Stones "Cant always get what you want"
I mean it takes alot of balls to cover The Stones or Mick Jagger ...and accoustic? and alone? and well??...
He gave me goosebumps....but enough about John...

Heart ROCKED and also sang sweet melodies, played an array of instruments and were so amazingly talented. I had collected most of their music, so I knew the songs they were playing. Today, I think ,like Jason said, they have mellowed and are not so into the Rocking out display they used to presant, but if it is a "reunion, or collection or best of" type show.
Get ready to be amazed

I've seen Heart a number of times through the years...from '78 to about '95 (I think). They always put of a "good" show, the best of the bunch...and still one of my Top 10 all-time concerts was their show during their Dog & Butterfly tour. The complete package, sound, lights, song choices, flow of the show...incredible. Every show I've seen since that tour has been lacking in one or more category.

I like those three too. The first six songs are good. Then the record falls apart a little. I guess I like 60% of it. Kinda like TISL. Oh, I'm not crazy about Perfect Goodbye...which JD songs do you think they'll do at my decades rock live show?...

I like Perfect Goodbye. I posted earlier what songs they did at the JD show here in Los Angeles. I would bet on Make Me, Vainglorious, and maybe Oldest Story In The World. I don't remember Fallen Ones going over so well.

I'm seeing Heart at Konocti Harbor in June 2006. For some reason, tix already on sale. I read that they are touring throughout 2006, about 25 shows. It will be spread out; they are playing only on weekends.Where are your seat locations? I'm probably going too...I'm going for vacation and some Heart!

Get yer tix, and we'll have a Ledgie presence for Ann and Nancy.

Stevie showed up at one of their shows in the 80's and sang with them, so maybe a repeat? We can always dream.Hey what about me!!!!!!! :distress:

I haven't bought them yet. I'm broke after Xmas and buying tix to two Lucinda Williams shows. I don't think there are bad seats at Konocti, so I'm not in a huge hurry. Hope you make it out here; it will be a beautiful time of year.

But what's up with the 6 pm show time???

I've never been there, but it looks like there are about 25 rows of reserved seats, with general admission bleachers behind. The website says that all seats are within 200 feet of the stage. I'll have to get a reserved seat, though, as bleachers don't sound very appealing.

KICKASS!!!

:blob2: :blob1: :blob2:

Heart is scheduled to play Saturday March 11th at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. That's only about 20 minutes away from my house. I've never seen them, I'm so excited right now!

I envy you. I would give my right arm to have been at one of these shows.

I think I like 90% of it. I even like Nancy's little acoustic ditty, "Things."

I know I'm in the minority on that one .

I know! I love it. I also like "I'm Fine" which noone else seems to like but me. I love Nance's schizophrenic delivery: "Anyway, as I was saying, SCUUUUUUUUUSE me for just a minute please"...

Me neither. Wait...I usually skip "Enough." Those lyrics make me cringe. But that's it. I love Jupiter's Darling.

I can't stand "Enough." The opening reminds me of Deliverance and I don't particularly find the image of Ned Beatty being buggered & squealing like a pig enjoyable when I'm listening to Heart. Or any other time.

Are you thinking of "Things" the jingly-jangly tune sung by Nancy? Ann sings "Enough" and it doesn't start with any banjos or acoustic guitars

It starts with a banjo on my CD. I'm listening to it now and the first 19 seconds is just a banjo.

I cringe as soon as she starts with that "The color blue..." ****.
