Mirage and The Dance album covers -- outtakes request

Discovered a thread about the Mirage cover backstory on the old Ledge, thought it might be interesting to resurrect.

I'm looking for these pictures -- outtakes from Mirage and the Dance photo shoots. Just for my own curiosity, mostly.

And theories, of course!

There are some very large Mirage outtake pictures that were posted in the picture thread in the Christine forum. I believe there were 2 or 3 of them. I've never seen or heard of any Dance outtake pictures, although I'd love to see them if they exist.

Fairly cool, I like that second one especially ... any others that anyone knows of?

As for The Dance ... sure there must be some somewhere, but I've never really heard of them. I just thought it might be interesting to throw it out. Seems to be plenty of interest anyway.

Neither have I, just theories.

Some people reckon that the Tango and Mirage covers should have been switched, given that the Mirage cover shows a dance, and the Tango cover shows a sort of mirage-y oasis thing. :shrug:

But I don't know about the Mirage cover. There's that famous thing about the image of the old lady's face in Lindsey and Stevie's hands [turn it 90 degrees clockwise and have a look! :nod: ] but I don't think anything official was ever said about the actual pose or the image.

Somebody on the old Ledge said that it could be that Lindsey is dancing with Stevie in a sort of dream, or mirage, that isnt' real, and that Christine is the lady trying to pull him back to the real world. Or vice-versa. That either one could be a mirage.

??

That black and white photo is stunning. I'd love to know the story, if any behind the Mirage cover. And I love The Dance cover. I'd love to see the outtakes from that photo shoot.

On edit: It just occured to me that Stevie appears to be "dancing away" from Lindsey in the cover photo for Mirage. "She is dancing away from you now..."?

Mmh ... sorta. To me it's always seemed like Stevies's not aware of Christine. She's so wrapped up in Lindsey and her dance with him that she doesn't notice Christine, literally on his shoulder, and that that's where all his attention is...

Well, it would fit because she had just released Bella Donna. So in a way she was dancing away from them. The Mirage tour was pretty short, if not their shortest.
