What songs do you think will be on Stevie's Best Of collection if she does indeed release it in 2006?
Not what you WANT to be on there but what you think WILL be on there. I personally do not think she will release any new material. If anything maybe some remastered versions of the previously released tracks.

What I want: no new tracks, no new mixes or different versions. Beyond that, I don't care what she puts on there, as long as it's all stuff I've already got. Then I won't have any reason to want to go out and buy it, and I can save my money instead of shelling out fifteen bucks for two or three songs.

Let's see...
Leather and Lace, Edge of Seventeen, Stand Back, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, If Anyone Falls, Rooms on Fire, I Can't Wait, Whole Lotta Trouble and Talk to Me for starters. As a bonus, and because we really need something from the last ten years, she might add either Everyday or Sorcerer (maybe Planets of the Universe, because of the Grammy nomination?). I can't say I am that psyched about this coming out.

That's an odd statement coming from a Stevie fan...
That's an odd statement coming from a Stevie fan...
Why, because it's sensible?

I'm gonna guess (although hardly going on a limb):
Edge of 17
SDMHA
Leather and Lace
Stand Back
If Anyone Falls
Talk To Me
I Can't Wait
HAEWAFY
Rooms on Fire
Whole Lotta Trouble
Blue Denim
Everyday
Sorcerer
Wild cards: Enchanted, POTU, and (heaven help us), Desert Angel
MLWCYM should be on it, but I guess she doesn't like it, or it would have been on Enchanted.

No, because the fact that you're hoping that the album will contain nothing that will compel you to buy it. Not that i'm saying as a Stevie fan you are forced to buy whatever she releases, but just the fact that she's releasing something at all should at least spark your interests to see what is actually on the album, instead of saying that you are not even getting it before it even comes out.

POTU a wildcard? It's an absolute must for a new GH compilation.. it was released as a single, went to #1 on Billboard's Dance Chart, and was nominated for a Grammy.. if it doesn't make it on there, that would be a royal mistake in my opinion...
and i agree about MLWCYM... it should be on there as well... and should have made "Enchanted" also... but instead she decided to put the god-awful "Destiny" on there instead.. ::sigh::

I agree, but I have a feeling it won't be on there. I think Stevie will view Everyday and Sorcerer as the greatest hits from TISL. It wasn't even in the setlist by the time I got to see the TISL show.
Another wild card is Dreams remix.

I wouldn't wish for no new material because if it came with any, I'd simply buy them as MP3 files. If I liked them, that is. I sure as **** wouldn't splash out any money for a disc that has one or two new songs with 15 other tracks that I already have three times over. Not even for the pretty pictures people are hoping for as justification for buying it.

Well, the point of any Greatest Hits/Best Of set is that it's primarily for casual fans who don't want to buy all the albums an artist has released but just want as many good/popular songs as they can get on one or two discs. The only reason new/unreleased tracks are ever included on these compilations is to get the big fans to shell out the cash as well, since they'll want the few new tracks even though they've got everything else.
Now, I don't begrudge any artist or record company this practice, as it certainly makes a lot of sense from a business perspective. But for me, it's simply a question of what do I want more, one or two new/unreleased Stevie songs, or fifteen bucks? There's lots of other CDs out there that I want to buy that contain all new material, so I'll take the fifteen bucks. That's just me.
Actually, scratch all that, I forgot that we live in an age where I can pick and choose if I only want to buy a couple of songs off an album. So if Stevie wants to throw a new/unreleased track or two on there, that's cool, I'll buy those tracks on iTunes for a dollar a pop and still save at least ten bucks.
No more remixing/remastering though. Unnecessary. Remix/remaster the albums and maybe throw some bonus tracks on those, but we do not need another remixed or remastered Stevie retrospective.

I wouldn't even do that, I'd just wait until they were posted here and put them on my ipod :p. But as I said I don't think we have to worry about that anyway.

If we are EXTREMEMLY lucky maybe we'll get a live track of her as a bonus with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra or the one song she supposedly wrote after Katrina but even that's unlikely.

The songs I think will appear on this Best Of album...
1. Bella Donna
2. Edge of Seventeen
3. Wild Heart
4. Stand Back
5. If Anyone Falls
6. Rock A Little (Go Ahead Lily)
7. Talk To Me
8. Long Way To Go
9. Desert Angel
10. Love Is Like A River
11. Trouble in Shangri-La
12. Sorcerer
13. Every Day
14. Planets of the Universe
I've selected 14 because Timespace had 14 songs, so i'm only going by that amount...it could be more, it could be less.
Okay, we all know I'm not going to buy this CD, but if I were the one compiling it, and I wanted to give consumers a good sense of Stevie's solo career and include a bunch of hits/singles but also throw in some wild cards, I think it'd probably go a little something like this:
1. Edge Of Seventeen (Live 1981)
2. Wild Heart
3. Talk To Me
4. Planets Of The Universe
5. After The Glitter Fades
6. Violet And Blue
7. Stand Back
8. Rooms On Fire
9. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
10. Juliet (remixed, Hornsby's piano way up)
11. Blue Denim
12. Every Day
13. I Can't Wait
14. If Anyone Falls
15. Fall From Grace
16. Sleeping Angel

I laughed so hard when I read this that I cried. This would be the first album to sell zero copies with that track listing.
