The thread to confess that you suck at something.
I can't....
...keep a houseplant alive. Outdoor stuff, I'm fine. But give me a houseplant & I'll kill it within 3 months.
...sing. I like to think that I can when singing karaoke drunk, but I can't. Really. It's pretty bad.
...make a pie crust. See "Holiday baking" thread for details.
...run or jog. I can't explain it, really. I just can't. I've been laughed at.
...throw or catch a ball. I mean, I can throw it, but not with any finesse or aim. And catching? I drop everything thrown to me. I actually get excited when my husband tosses me the keys & I don't drop them.
...play any musical instrument. I used to play the flute. Until 7th grade. Then I became a headbanger. The flute didn't work out.

Let's see. Off the top of my head:
I can't sew. If I needed a button sown I would need to pay someone to do it. When I've tried to sew it makes me completely miserable.
I can't french braid. I can't even braid very well. I always wanted my hair french braided as a kid but it never happened.
I can't waterski or windsurf. I've tried a bunch of times and have failed misrabley.

I can't sing or keep a houseplant alive either.
As discussed in the other thread, I can't cook.
According to my husband-I can't drive.
I can't swim. I mean-I can dog paddle, but I can't go underwater without holding my nose (scared of water) so I can't do the "official" correct swim :distress:
hhmmm...what else??I can't roll my R's.
I can't ice skate. And I can't bring myself to drink Diet coke. I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

I'm petrified of water also. My husband made me take swim lessons a few years back. I was in a class with little kids, and I'm the one who cried. When she told me to put my face in the water I cried like a little baby. I do not like water in my face.

Me neither. when I wash my face in the shower, instead of sticking my face in the water, I wipe it off with the water that is in my hands. It takes a few applications, but the job gets done!! I AM terrified of water, but also, I had a deviated septum on my nose. haha...anyway, I couldn't breath out of the right side of my nose, so i never got enough oxygen because it was 90% blocked. I would sleep with my arm thrown over my eyes to pull my nose back on that side so I could breath. (TMI..I know..hhahahah) so anything that prevented me from breathing in the least little bit scared the **** out of me. Since then I have had the surgery to have it fixed, but I still have a fear of not being able to breath. :(

really? I took my driving test in a standard transmission car. I love driving them, but after awhile it gets old. I can't eat my food, talk on my cell phone, AND put on my makeup while I'm shifting! ;)

^^ Don't worry... no smartassedness from me.
I learned to drive standard because my mum did - and my first car was her car (and she was incredibly generous with it)! Now I appreciate that I drive standard because it's easier to get out of snow banks, and easier to control the car on ice.

I can't
- do the splits
- keep my car clean
- do anything without some type of music
- get dressed without checking to see if I need to pluck my eyebrows
- do anything with the left side of my body first, I must use the right side first (it's an OCD thing)
- enjoy spinning class
- go to the movies without wanting to kill at least 2 people for various reasons
- find the gucci bag and matching wallet I want on eBay
- afford the diamond gucci spinner ring I want

I can't do the splits either :( never could.
I HAVE to have music on also. Especially when I clean house. I've spun Enchanted box set so many times while cleaning it's even funny. I also can't clean without listening to the cleaning lady version of sara-the whole time saying.."I don't WANT to be a cleaning lady, DAMNIT!!"
I can get dressed w/out checking out the eyebrows, but I def have to see them before I leave. I am SUCH an eyebrow person. :D
I couldn't find a gucci bag either that I wanted :( So I got a coach :)

However, you should listen to RadioIo if you don't already. They play *great* music.
Aaah, thank you for the suggestion. I may never listen to regular radio again. :wavey:

Care to share? :o

Burp.
Write the letters "p" and "r" in sequence (like the word "pride").
Watch commercials anymore.
Wash or get one hand wet and leave my other hand dry. I have to have both hands wet and dry both hands with a towel.
Forgive my parents for their neglect.
Sleep with any lights on.
Play any guitar leads- rhythm guitar only, folks.
You can't burp? Neither can my roommate!

I also learned on a stick. My '92 car has the original clutch! I guess I'm even pretty good at it!

This is completely understandable with what all you've been through. I have definitely noticed your posts are more "lighthearted" though. The quotes are there because it is your very own special brand of lightheartedness that I speak of.
I can't:
Whistle, I have tried a million times. Every so often, by accident, it works. But it is pathetic, really.
Stay on task. Remember why I am in a room I just got in to do something. (ADD)
Seem to get everything done during the holidays without throwing a tantrum and/or crying fit.
Understand my boss in a social way.
Be consistent with housework or keep my room clean. I keep trying!
Pass up decadent food.
Stand Boston drivers.
Bear to see my kitty or anyone else's pet ill.
Deal with Bush's photo on cnn.com every day so I yanked them as my homepage.

My current I can't...
I can't get this guy I work with out of my head!! :o It's getting so incredibly distracting - in a really fun way. He is in town working with us for now, but doesn't live here. But that's not stopping me. Is there any better thing in the world than The Chase? I am having so much fun. I said to my friend last night, I've never been the one chasing like this (now I know what guys go through) - it's the greatest and most fun challenge trying to make him sit up and notice someone who never occurred to him. He walked into the room yesterday while I was on the phone with my friend (and we're talking a BIG room - he was not close to me) and I BLUSHED. I have to talk to this man on a fairly regular basis for work. I don't think he knows yet what effect he is having on me. *sigh* It sure does make work more fun.
