6 songs for Elizabethtown Soundtrack?
Accourding to the podcast that is on the UK iTunes site where Cameron Crowe talks about the Elizabethtown soundtrack, he says that Lindsey's people sent him 6 tracks and he choose Shut Us Down for inclusion on the soundtrack.
The podcast is 11mins long and taks about the soundtrack in general, below is a link to an MP3 of the Lindsey section

Now I wonder what the other six songs are and does this give us more evidance of getting this solo album?

Lindsey certainly has no shortage of unreleased material. He might have sent Cameron "Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind" or "Down On Rodeo" or "Shuffle Riff" or one of the Stones covers or "Try For The Sun"... or maybe more stuff we haven't heard.
I'll remain a cynical skeptic, though, and say that this doesn't necessarily mean we're any closer to getting an album from him.

The LA Times reports today that Big Love (solo) will be the extra Lindsey song on Elizabethtown II

this has probably been discussed before but somehow I'm still wondering -
Is this new Lindsey version of Big Love something that hasn't been released yet? Or is it the version used on The Dance, or from Live In Boston?
It would be cool to hear a new solo studio version.

i call lame.
i'm getting tired of big love solo being lindsey's spotlight. for the dance, it was just dandy.. but we've seen it and know that he's got way more than that up his sleeve.
it's becoming his own personal "dreams".

Well, it's not as though "Big Love" was Lindsey's choice. It's Cameron Crowe's soundtrack; he picked the songs.

And, it was already "old news" during The Dance to the people who'd seen him do that same version (including the poem going into "Go Insane") during his OotC tour.

this is true. just more widely displayed with the dance.
and it may be cameron crowe's pick, but lindsey still submitted it.

Are we sure about that? Lindsey submitted six songs for inclusion on the first soundtrack, but we don't know that "Big Love" was among them. And "Big Love" is actually played in the film, right? The way Cameron Crowe operates, I would guess he wanted to use "Big Love" for that scene long before he asked Lindsey to contribute anything to the soundtrack. Actually, that might be what put Lindsey on his mind in the first place.
Regardless, it's a movie soundtrack album. Those are usually filled with pre-released material anyway, although Lindsey and Stevie both have usually been very welcome exceptions to that.

Yes, indeed. The song Twisted is amongst their best work.

I would agree. And those are good points you make, Jyqm.
But it still doesn't change my personal opinion about Big Love and how it's starting to feel tired to me. ;) I love the song and I love the version.. it's just seeming like Lindsey has a tendency to wear some things out (not that I'm talking about his speeches or quotes or anything......), even though his style is new and fresh.

Oh I agree with you, I'm pretty bored by "Big Love" at this point as well, and I also get frustrated with the canned speeches and the same old songs/arrangements. I'm just refraining from blaming him for this particular instance.

I thought I read in another thread that it's an accoustic studio version, so we may not have heard it yet - right?
