View Full Version : That necklace....

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the necklace Lindsey's wearing these days ... In a large number of the pictures taken since the Dance, I guess, I've seen him wearing it.
Anyone know what it is or where it came from? Or why he wears it so much?
<img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b372/EO17/sywbanner.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">
Of course the one time I need a decent picture of it I can't find one, but you probably know the one I'm on about.
Any theories?
Just curious ...

Wow, that was fast!!!
Are you sure it's backwards? I thought that was the design of it ... or maybe I'm just thick?

Sorry, meant to say also that he wears it on Live in Boston and for most of the photos inside the sleeve of Say You Will.

definitely backwards...some prefer to wear that way...
the silver you are seeing is the clasps
the longer dangling + piece is not a charm but an emergency catch...
what id like to know is what precious piece lays upon his back...
perhaps a heart inscribed with NIKI :D
BTFLCHLD

the "emergency catch" appears to be a bar/ring toggle clasp

Thought we'd settled this, Sahara? It's a collar that Stevie has him on, you know how possessive she is!
But backwards? Really? That's weird...

Anyway, it appears that the backwards thing makes sense, I did think that at the start, but I don't know why he would ....
I've never worn a necklace like that backwards.

I never thought about it, but this seems logical since there is usually a silver triangle dangling from it, no? Perhaps a gift given as they came back together in '97?
By the way, some necklaces are fashioned to intentionally be worn with the clasp in front........

I'm so glad someone started a thread about this cause I've wondered myself.
By the way, you can make this necklace on your own if you want. I make my own all the time. Go to a bead store and get the cording and they'll usually put the clasp on for you for $5. Just find that exact clasp. The one he's wearing would be fairly easy to replicate.

you may want to make one for yourself...
there are many sites that you can obtain
the makings of jewelry such as leather cords,
clasps such as lindsey's, glassbeads...etc.
some options are http://www.wehug.com/
and http://www.artbeads.com/index.html
good luck with your piece :wavey:

David, I'll be glad to help you. Let me do some research and I'll let you know.
Like BTFLCHLD mentioned, you would probably be able to find this necklace relatively easily on the net. Let me know if you find it somewhere, but in the meantime I'll see what I can find.

and I could be mistaken but I think the necklace in the first pic is different from the necklace in this picture. to me, it seems like there's an arrowhead or something similar as a charm on the first necklace and now that I think about it, I remember seeing this necklace with some sort of charm on it. maybe he wears a charm on the same necklace sometimes?

well imo the picture is capturing the clasp
as it lays upon his skin a little differently
with that type of toggle clasp it will lay
differently depending upon how you move
which is why i enlarged the other pic...if
in the enlarged pic the toggle were to lay
at a different angle then it to perhaps would
like like an anchor...
if you examine the other picture closely
i do believe you will see the toggle and the ring...
i make jewelry as well for hobby and will be
recreating this piece...as the more it is
discussed the more obsessed i become...
for fact it is who is wearing the piece that
drives me to this madness :]

Upon closer examination ... there's no charm on the necklace in the first picture.
Check out your SYW sleeves, the other pictures from the photo shoot show that it's just the bar, no charm. Guess it must be the angle or shadow [or hair] or something...

[CB] Hmmm. I believe his wife bought it for him and he just really liked it. He’s worn it ever since. I wish I could make up some really interesting answer, but I think it’s just as boring and simple and that. Sorry!

Yeah, I've wondered that too. I'm not saying it wasn't from Kristen, but if it was from Stevie, I doubt that would be for public knowledge as it would only add fuel to the fire. But of course, Cory didn't have to answer that question so...

I posted this in response to the original question. That was Cory's answer. Her answer made it sound like she wasn't totally sure where it came from, either.
I've never noticed Mick wearing the same necklace (not that I've ever looked closely at Mick's neck! ) Do you have any pictures of him with the necklace?
Interestingly, the latest pics we've seen of Lindsey have been sans necklace.

Even though I don't have the chest hair to go with it, I think I made a Lindsey necklace.

Obviously it's not EXACTLY the same, but hey, it resembles it, and I'm happy. I was a bit skeptical at first, because it didn't lay like Lindsey's in some pictures, but in other pictures, it seems right. But like I said. Either way, I'm happy. :]

Thank you! I actually made it yesterday. It took me about 15 minutes. I finally got around to finding a ring and bar, (I am extremely unexperienced in jewelry lingo, so excuse my laymen terms), chord, and caps for the end. (It looks to me like Lindsey's has solid caps, mine are spiral.) I used (3 on both sides) little ring links to connect the big ring to a cap and the bar to a cap. Then I just shoved the chord in the ends of the caps. To connect the necklace, you put the bar through the ring and ta da! I hope that helped, it was quite easy for me to do once I figured out what to do. Let me know if you'd like any more description.
