We had an ice storm last night. We were expecting 1 or 2 inches of snow; instead we got ice! I was coming home from shopping, and I couldn't get my truck up the driveway because it was coated with ice. I got about half way up, and slid all the way back down in the street! I got out of bed this morning, and looked out the window in time enough to see my asshole neighbor fall on his butt! Normally, I wouldn't laught at this too much, but he's a jerk.
... OK, I'm off to sand the driveway! Wish me luck!

It is 57 degrees inside my house right now, and I consider that a titty bit nipply. Okay... I'm freezing my ass off right now.
But I suppose 57 is toasty warm compared to where you're at right now.

Atlanta is not that cold yet. It has gotten in the 30's at night, but mostly the days are in the 60's. But, that will change soon. Bundle up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here in Canada as I look out my window I see white. It's been freezing and snowy all week. But supposedly it's supposed to warm up a little bit (probably not to your northerns California standards though). I'm sitting next to my Christmas tree so it IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas :D

I am in Northwest Indiana and have a couple of inches of snow. The little snow birds are feeding at the new bird feeder and the squirrels are digging the bread that I threw out last nite out of the snow.Last night it was very pretty and sparkly watching the snow fall into the nite. Sara1998, I must have the same kinda driveway you do--come icy or alot of snow it is hard to go up my driveway and on several occasions have slid backwards down the street backing out the driveway---It is hell to get stuck in the hedge!!!

It is about 70 degrees and sunny in LA. Last night, the temp in my house got down to 59 - but I was none the wiser. In the house it is a lot like Christmas. The tree is up, the house is fully decorated. I am going to start wrapping presents today. This is about as Christmas looking as I will see until I take a trip to the woods next weekend, and then go to Oregon for the holiday. It's nice !

There's a decent amount of snow on the grounds here in Pittsburgh, and I believe it's been in the 20s the last few days. I'm not complaining though, nothing gets me more in the holiday spirit...then again, I don't drive.

Overcast and a bit windy, it's been typical December weather here in San Antonio. The average temp is 56 degrees...we are very spoiled.
HOWEVER... I have a fire in the fireplace, the house is FULL ON Christmas...Heart is on the stereo...the dog is chasing the cats...there is cheese dip on the stove...My man is wrapping presents and wine is flowing...yeah, this is the holidays! :wavey:

Snow here in Boston too, its in the low 30s. Yes, 57 is downright balmy to us right now. Although we had temps in that range a couple of weeks ago! That's New England for you.

Wanna trade? The other day I had to walk to work and by the time I got there I couldn't feel my legs!

I was cracking up when this happened to me... My friend has the same kind of drive I do, and I pulled up last night and had the same problem. So, I parked on the street. When I got out of the truck, my feet would not stay still. I kept sliding into my truck! Finally, I shuffled over to the grass, and even that was slick!
We have a little ditch in the backyard, so Sara got a sled, took a running start off the patio, and went ice sledding! I joined her for a few rounds... great fun!!!

Hey! Where exactly are you?
Here in my part of Canada (Toronto)... no snow to speak of yet. We've had a couple of dustings, but you can see the grass, and the streets are completely free of anything resembling ice or snow.

Im with you. My heater malfunctioned and I had only a space heater and when I tried to plug in a second one, I tripped a breaker. My house got down to 55. I hate being cold. I couldnt last anywhere outside of CA. I admit it. Im a wuss when it comes to cold. Heat, I can stand. Cold? no thank you.
So I gotta ask: is your heater out too? or can you just not afford the utilities?

I get snow here, in fact it snowed just after Thanksgiving. it didnt last but it was enough to make the trees white for a bit. I LOVE being indoors looking at the snowy trees. Im just under 3000ft. Our overnight temps are in the low 30's and our day temps are mid 50's. Much like your neck of the woods Jason!

I don't pay utilities. I'm broke and living at home - with my parents who are cheap bastards and won't turn on the damned heat.
Making matters worse is the fact that there isn't a scrap of carpeting in the whole friggin' house - it's all wood laminate, linoleum, and tile.

YIKES! time to wear the slippers, wooly socks and sweats! maybe thermals underneath. then you wont feel anything. until you sit on a cold toilet seat ar ar~ Its too bad your folks wont pay for heat. Do they know about the CARE program thru PG&E? they can get a discount on their bill. there may be other programs they might be eligible to....whereabouts do you live?

Probably not. It's not like they can't afford to pay for heat, they just won't. So we all walk around with our jackets on inside the house because that doesn't cost anything. They'll wait until we can actually see our breath before they'll turn it on.
Summers are even worse. Triple digit heat? "Open your window and turn on a fan."
I live in Vacahell... I mean Vacaville. Solano County.

Ah. Outlet heaven~ not much else there tho...except the Nut Tree~ Do you guys have the Renaissance Faire there too? I seem to recall that the Faire moved there after striking out in Antioch...(too bad, Antioch could have used the $$$$)

I wish the Ren Faire was still here but it's gone now. They lasted here a few years but have since moved out to a place next to the Casa de Fruta in Hollister (near Gilroy). The Vacaville location was much better and Hollister is a long ass drive for just a day long trip.
But let's not forget that the lovely ****hole called Vacaville is still blessed with a prison and a 24 hour bowling alley/arcade/bar. :blob2:
And of course, the damned outlets - of which I've worked at two and all of my friends have worked at at least one of at one time or another.

LOL both. I've lived here all 17 years of my life and I'm just about done with it. I'm getting the hell out of here once I finish college...here's hoping I can find a radio job in say California. I can deal with a life without snow unlike some whinners on this board and the O.C.

What is Christmas supposed to look like? It's all so relative. It's summertime (well Spring technically) in the southern hemisphere. Frankly, I need to get out of the states. I'd much prefer a hot holiday anytime over a cold, snowy season.

Bah humbug!!!!!!
I needed to get my Uhaul out today, for two shows this weekend. But, snow's coming down like crazy here! If I go today, that means I'll be trying to come home, with NO load in the truck. It won't go anywhere in the snow, when empty, so, I'll just have to kill myself, timewise all weekend, making multiple daily trips....:( , praying that the snow clears up!
Did I say, Bah Humbug!!!!!!?

Thank you, Dave, I did... it took me three hours to make a 25 minute drive. I'm so tired. We got snow at a rate of an inch per hour. It's still going, too. I took pictures about an hour ago. It was at five inches then.
