Your post just reminded me of that SNL skit with Nora Dunn, Phil Hartman and Jan what's-her-name. When the ladies were the cheesy lounge singers and they did that medley, "I'm hearing bells, there go the bells, SO many bells, God stop the bells..."
I love Santa Baby too!

It doesn't get any better then LAST CHRISTMAS. "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah is a distant second, because WHAM! outshines them all.

Father Christmas by The Kinks. It doesn't get any better than that.
These are pretty cool, too.
Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses
2000 Miles by The Pretenders
It's Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) by U2
Oi to the World by No Doubt (Gwen Stefani before she sold out)
Fairytale of New York by The Pogues
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by The Pretenders
Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty & company
Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight) by The Ramones
Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon
Do They Know it's Christmas? by Band Aid (I was obsessed with this when I was a kid)
Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC
Merry Christmas Darling by The Carpenters
I hate Christmas, but I like some of the songs. Especially when they're a bit messed up. Ergo, Father Christmas, Oi to the World, Fairytale, etc.

Stevie Nicks
Silent Night
Ooh I can't stand this one! I'm not a fan of Christmas music in general (I own two Christmas cds - one by the Malibooz, which is of course Walter Egan's surf band, the other is a collection of obscene songs by an Australian named Kevin "Bloody" Wilson) but that particular one seems to be nothing but a showcase for the tremor in Stevie's voice that prompts certain comparisons like that on South Park. If you know what I mean.
Two songs I do like though:
"Christmas All Over Again" by a man about whom there's been an ongoing debate on the Warren Zevon board. The question - Is he God? My answer: Yes.
"Pretty Paper" Roy Orbison

two "spoof" songs I really enjoy:
12 days of Christmas by Bob and Doug MacKenzie
Walking round in women's underwear by ?? very funny song
here's the lyrics:
Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear
(to be sung to "Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland")
Lacy things -- the wife is missin',
Didn't ask -- her permission,
I'm wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.
In the store -- there's a teddy,
Little straps -- like spaghetti,
It holds me so tight,
Like handcuffs at night,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear.
In the office there's a guy named Melvin,
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown.
He'll say, "Are you ready?" I'll say,"Whoa, Man!"
"Let's wait until our wives are out of town!"
Later on, if you wanna,
We can dress -- like Madonna,
Put on some eyeshade,
And join the parade,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!
Lacy things... missin',
Didn't ask... permission,
Wearin' her clothes,
Her silk pantyhose,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear,
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear!

...
There's a live verison of Stevie's Silent Night that sounds better than the record. [Yeah, I said record, and I'll probably never stop! It is still always "record" in my head then I say "CD".] I hated the VSC version too for a long time but it has grown on me. I'm much more tolerant of Stevie's annoying vocal period now.
